The South-West monsoon remained sluggish even a fortnight after its onset in the State, though there were was isolated rainfall.
As a result, many places in the State are still reeling under an extended summer without much change in day temperatures. Weathermen are hoping for better days, expecting that some system or other would get formed in the Bay of Bengal which can activate the monsoon.
On Friday, there was isolated rain over Coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema while weather, by and large, continued to be largely dry over Telangana.
Gooty received a rainfall of 5 cm, Srisailam 4 cm, Gudivada and Kalyanadurg 3 cm each. Ramagundam experienced a day temperature of 42 degrees Celsius.
