In all 1,93,275 seats in 577 engineering colleges will be available for Eamcet qualifiers this year under SW-I counselling.
The process will begin on Wednesday with the commencement of verification of certificates in 50 helpline centres set up in all the district headquarters.
Of those, 21 are government colleges and the rest 556 are private.
This is an additional 35,000 seats over last year. This year, the counselling will be entirely ‘web-based’ and the students should exercise options on colleges and courses in order of their priorities from July 31 to August 16. The allotment of seats will be made on August 17. The websites are http://apeamcet.nic.

The total number of engineering colleges in the state stands at 631. The state also has over 2.15 lakh engineering seats, the highest in the country.
There are 48,310 seats in computer science engineering, 53,120 seats in electronics and communication engineering, 32,625 seats in electrical and electronics engineering, 28,975 seats information technology, 13,095 seats in mechanical engineering, 11,005 seats in civil engineering.
“We have placed the entire list of colleges and courses on the website. It will be accessible to the students from Tuesday. We have not included 19 colleges as they failed to secure the required approvals from AICTE, the state government and the universities concerned,” said Prof K.C.Reddy, chairman, AP State Council of Higher Education.
