Engg. certificate verification starts


HYDERABAD: Certificate verification for engineering and pharmacy courses started on a smooth note across the State on Tuesday. Top 25,000 rankers apart from rankers in the Physically Handicapped and NCC quota were called for the verification.

Officials also made arrangements for the candidates to understand web counselling process and how to choose the options.

Giant screens

Through giant screens put up in the halls recorded version of web counselling process was explained in English and Telugu and later followed by an interactive session that largely cleared the doubts. Students and parents who were still apprehensive about the process were asked to take the assistance of counsellors in the helpline centres.

The APSCHE Chairman, K.C. Reddy said that 10,571 candidates attended the certificate verification process till 5 p.m. in the evening and there was no problem at any centre.

He dismissed the reports of net connectivity bothering students. Anyway, there were still three days for the students to start exercising their web options.

Officials said that 1,92,845 seats were on offer in 558 private colleges and 21 university colleges under the convenor’s quota.

The number might go up since new colleges were still getting their permission and affiliation letters.
