Talasani to quit Desam

The Telugu Desam is in a turmoil once again as senior party leader and former minister, Mr Talasani Srinivas Yadav, is planning to quit and join the Congress. He has been offered the Mayor’s post.

A dozen Telugu Desam ZPTC members from Adilabad joined the Congress in the presence of the Chief Minister, Dr Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy, at his camp office. Mr Talasani Srinivas said that the TD president, Mr N. Chandrababu Naidu, was a “coward” who “did not have the guts to take decisions.”

In the wake of these developments, Mr Naidu was closeted with senior party leaders Mr K. Yerrannaidu, Mr K. Vijayarama Rao and others and discussed steps to resolve the problem. The TD chief reportedly dismissed Mr Yadav’s threat and said his departure would not impact the party. Senior party leaders opined that Mr Srinivas Yadav was using Telangana as an excuse to leave the party. They said his departure would not have any impact on the party in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation elections scheduled for next month.
