What do Bollywood stars do when they are not shooting for an ad or a new film? They are dancing at weddings! But mind you, only the rich and famous can afford them.
Your daughter loves Shah Rukh Khan, but can you shell a whopping Rs 3 crore to buy his time for her wedding! It is big business and everyone wants to cash in on it. After all, everyone wants their 15 minutes of fame, and what better way to invite a Bollywood star to your wedding.
Here’s a look at some celebs willing to twist a leg or two for the big moolah.
Shah Rukh Khan
The King, Baadshah… whatever you call him, no one can beat his nautanki. And it comes at a heavy price. As mentioned, Rs 3 crore is the minimum you have to shell out. Get some pictures clicked with him; see him entertain your guests with his wicked one-liners. But if it’s about dancing, pay more to get more. Now that’s a fair deal.
Believe it or not, Shah Rukh flew back from South Africa leaving the Knight Riders in complete disarray during the IPL on the pretext that he was coming back to India to vote. All this because King Khan had to put up a show during the wedding of real estate magnet Kanti Govani's nephew.
Akshay Kumar
The action star is the latest addition to the bandwagon after his new-found super stardom. He comes a close second to SRK with an estimate cost of Rs50 lakh to Rs 1 crore. Is crore the new lakh!!! The pleasant twist here is that you can expect this star to land on the podium from the air.
Salman Khan & Saif Ali Khan
The other two Khans of Bollywood can't obviously miss the opportunity to dance at weddings as well. The Chote Nawab Saif though is going slow on that front after his renewed stardom, and is focusing more on his films. Salman is the man for masses, and any appearance of his is sure to rock the wedding function. The Khans will not settle for anything less than Rs50 lakh.
The actresses
Most of the A-list actresses like to maintain their dignity, and avoid any hassles, so they give weddings a miss. But there are others who are all for it.
Item girls
Can’t afford the boys! Go for the item girls. Celina Jaitley, Dia Mirza, Malaika Arora Khan, Rakhi Sawant and Isha Koppikar come for Rs10 lakh (each). They perform to their hit numbers and add spice to the wedding. Some more Then there are others like Koena Mitra, Priti Jhangiani, Payal Rohatgi, Sanobar and Mandira Bedi – who perform at weddings for anything between Rs 5 to 7 lakh.
The singers too
Singer Sonu Nigam tops the list with Rs 30 lakh, followed by Shaan at Rs20 lakh. Other singers like Kailash Kher, Daler Mehendi, Jagjit Singh and Mika come for around Rs5 to 8 lakh.
