AP engineer in Assam abducted

Mr P. Krishna Rao, an engineer from Hyderabad working on a National Highway project, has allegedly been abducted by the NDFB militants in Assam.

Mr Krishna Rao has been working as the project manager of Gayatri PCI (JB) Company, which was undertaking the construction of NH31 at Joypur in Assam’s Kokrajhar district.

Police said that around five armed youth who came on a motorcycle kidnapped him around 10 am from the construction site in Joypur on Friday. They created terror by brandishing firearms.

When Mr Rao tried to resist, the kidnappers fired three rounds in air and whisked him away.

However, the Gayatri PIC (JB) company managing director, Mr Venkata Rao, refused to comment on the issue.
