Actress Prema is making a comeback after a long gap with the film Shishira directed by Manju Swaraj. This film is the first venture of Manju who had earlier assisted Nagathihalli Chandrashekhar. Manju has been quite impressed with Prema’s professionalism and has been praising her for working in most of the night shoots of the film.
“Prema’s character is crucial for the story’s development. I had heard a lot about Prema’s commitment earlier, but I was apprehensive whether she would show the same level of commitment towards acting after her marriage. I was really surprised to find her extremely co-operative and responsive. We had to shoot her portions at night because of the night-effect sequences, but she did not complain. She would come with her husband and would be present on the sets an hour before the shoots. Her portrayal has added a lot of momentum to the film. She inspired many youngsters on the sets,” says Manju.
On her part, Prema is also quite appreciative about her comeback film. She was doing a couple of Telugu films after marriage, but she didn’t play crucial characters. But her role in Shishira has really impressed her. “I was very happy doing this role. It was a new experience for my husband who accompanied me to the sets. Before the shoot began, I wanted to change my hairstyle. When I went with my new hairstyle and light make-up, the film’s producer didn’t recognise me. He asked me where Prema Madam was! He also asked me whether I was Prema’s younger sister. It was a new experience working with the young Shishira team. I like Manju’s attitude. There was a lot of creativity in every shot that he took. The dialogues were different. Even if it was a little bookish, it was looking good,” says Prema who adds that her husband has been supportive.
