The Enge Enge number from Aasal is close to my heart because whether in my career or real life, I have been back-stabbed a few times and so I am able to relate to it personally,” remarked the ‘Ultimate Star’ Ajith Kumar after launching the audio of his forthcoming flick Aasal at a simple function at the late thespian Sivaji Ganesan’s house.
Ajith continued the personal revelations by remarking that it was a ‘Godsend’ for Aasal that right from the title to producers to artistes to technicians, everything fell into place when needed. Speaking on the occasion, director Saran divulged that Ajith plays a double role in the film — something which the media had been speculating about. Bharadwaj, who started his career as a music director with Ajith’s Kadhal Mannan, has touched the half-century mark with Aasal.
Everyone who spoke thereafter, including producers Ram Kumar and Prabhu, heaped praise on Ajith’s total involvement in all departments of the film, to the extent that his name has been included in the credits in the story, screenplay, dialogue and direction category, along with Saran and Yuhi Sethu.
The presence of Shalini, Ajith’s pretty wife, added glamour and made up for the absence of the leading ladies of the film, Sameera Reddy and Bhavana.
