Action Replayy targeted by Eros Worldwide to recover dues from producer Vipul Shah

Diwali release Action Replayy starring Akshay Kumar and Aishwarya Rai, very much on the verge of release is running into a mess as Eros is targeting it and trying to stall its release in a bid to get matters straight with the producer Vipul Shah from whom it has to recover Rs. 6.56 Crore which is the total amount the Shah owes to the Dubai based company along with the interest.

Just a week in the run up to the release of the movie and Eros Worldwide has struck Shah on the wrong foot. They have filed a legal complaint against him and the producer is supposed to reply to the suit on Nov. 4th just a day before the film Action Replayy is to be released all over India.

With 2 days allotted to them by the Justice JH Bhatia who is hearing the case and the Eros is claiming to have lent Vipul Shah a sum of Rs6.37 crore through 2 agreements on October 24 and October 26 last year and the total amount the Shah is now supposedly owing to them is Rs6.56 crore with interest.

The company is asking for a payment of the full amount in the court or instead asking for a restraining order on the release of the film Action Replayy. The condition is also such that the producer must not be allowed to give prints, exhibit the movie or deliver to a third party and nor be allowed to create third party rights in the title or interest with respect to this film.

Shah however pleaded to have been facing a financial crisis since the release of the somewhat low profitable venture “London Dreams” and is being hogged by creditors, financiers, distributors and exhibitors who had loaned him in the past.


As of now the situation looks grim and the film is being targeted y Eros Worldwide only to get Vipul Shah down on his knees and take advantage of the situation since the movie is all set to go on the floor and its Diwali time which is considered to be a good time for the business and Vipul would not want the film to be stalled at this stage.

So ‘Action Replayy’ might be showing the producer Vipul Shah some replay of days he was facing a financial mess and the hope that the release of this movie had raised may be dampened with Eros Worldwide taking him hands down
