Actress Raveena Tandon Thadani says that she doesn't have the guts to play a role like Vidya Balan's in The Dirty Picture. "Vidya did a daring job and I don't have the guts to do a role like that," she says.
The actor will soon be seen in a character based role — that of a 40-year-old bitchy socialite columnist in her next flick, Shobana 7 Nights. The film revolves around how high society socialites in Mumbai pick up toy boys and hunks from coffee shops for their sexual fantasies. Speaking about the film and the character she plays, Raveena shares, "I was shocked when director Sudipto Chattopadhay told me that something like this exists. We have seen and heard this in films, but I was shocked to see it when Sudipto asked me to accompany him to a coffee shop. I wore a burkha to conceal my identity."
Playing a columnist, the one name she can relate to and take inspiration from is Shobhaa De. "She is a novelist and a very glamorous person. I adore her," she expresses. The topic is sensitive and Raveena says she can't pass any judgement on it. It's a personal choice for a woman, she says. "The reason can be anything — a failed marriage, bored housewives or anything," she adds.
