Modi is in hurry for top job, Baba Ramdev says

The World Famous Yoga guru Baba Ramdev, who has been garnering support for the BJP, on Sunday targeted BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, saying he is in an unseemly hurry for the top job. "Modi is eager to become the PM, but he should show some restraint," said Ramdev. At the same press conference, the yoga guru described former BJP president Nitin Gadkari as a "clean and straight man". Admitting he was upset over denial of Lok Sabha ticket to his follower Nishikant Yadav from Patliputra, Ramdev also expressed displeasure over the BJP giving tickets to tainted candidates like BS Yeddyurappa and B Sriramulu. Nishikant was upstaged by RJD rebel Ramkripal Yadav who is now contesting Patliputra on a BJP ticket, with the other contestant being RJD chief Lalu Prasad's daughter Misa Yadav. Asked about AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal contesting from Varanasi against Modi, Ramdev said Kejriwal must promise that if he loses his deposit from Varanasi, he would quit politics. "Kejriwal has lost his mind. He is going to lose his deposit. He is implementing a Congress agenda by contesting against Modi. He is silent about massive corruption by Sonia and Rahul Gandhi," he said. On BJP he said, "It would have been better if all the BJP candidates were clean, and there was no 'dynastism'. Some wrong candidates have been fielded by the party itself, or at the behest of allies. We will continue to oppose morally and financially corrupt candidates at a moral and political level." But Baba agreed Modi's candidature should have been declared earlier. "I had told BJP six months ago to announce its candidates, so that they could start campaigning," he said.
