Movie Review: MCA (Middle Class

Dil Raju has been sticking to template commercial films lately. With so many movies coming out of his stable, Dil Raju is inclining towards playing safe by opting to make commercially viable films. Though safe it is a tight rope to walk as the film may fall flat on its face if it fails to hold the interest of audience.

MCA has a very poor script that it will leave us wondering how Nani and Sai Pallavi accepted to be a part of it. The director takes audience for granted and simply recycles old ideas and scenes and pass it off as a new film with a catchy title. Hero coming from middle class family has nothing to do with the actual plot of the film.

It is just another hero vs. villain saga where the protagonist has to save his sister-in-law from the antagonist. This might have worked to an extent if the villain is threatening enough. The actor who played the villain looks very weak and lean. He doesn't seem like a serious threat at any point. Whole second half relies on the mind games between hero and the villain.

Director's inability to come up with interesting scenes made it a torrid affair as it puts the viewers' patience to test. The film starts off well with enjoyable scenes between Nani, Sai Pallavi and his friends. But it is all downhill once the action part comes to the fore. Second half is a giant yawn that even Nani and Sai Pallavi look helpless most of the time.

MCA will have to rely upon Nani and Sai Pallavi's craze and the holiday season to be a safe venture. It may attract audience in big numbers at the beginning but majority of them will come out disappointed with this dated below average family-action drama.
