Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu may have dropped its audit of the accounts of Satyam Computer Services due to a possible conflict of interest, according to reports. Deloitte is auditor to Tech Mahindra also.
Satyam’s financial statements are being reviewed by KPMG and Deloitte after its former auditor, the Indian affiliate of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, said in January that its audit reports on the Hyderabad-based IT company were no longer reliable.
Satyam’s founder Ramalinga Raju said on Jan. 7 that he had falsified the company’s accounts for several years.
