Around 250 passengers of the Hyderabad-bound Emirates flight (EK-528) had a harrowing time as the aircraft was unable to land at Shamshabad airport because of bad weather.
The pilot did not want to take chances because of cross winds and hovered in the skies for almost three hours. Thankfully, the weather cleared and the flight, scheduled to arrive at 8.20 pm, finally landed at 11.02 pm.
Relatives of the passengers were tense, though authorities said the plane had enough fuel. “There was enough fuel for a nine-hour journey,” said Mr Viswanath Attaluri, chief commercial officer.
