HYDERABAD: At last, the South-West monsoon turned active over the State on Sunday.
The skies remained cloudy all over the State throughout the day, especially in Telangana region. The day temperatures registered a drastic fall, giving relief to people in Coastal and other regions from the humid and sultry weather.
The State Met Office said there would be moderate to rather heavy rain at many places in North Coastal Andhra, at a few places in Telangana and isolated rainfall in Rayalaseema on Monday.
With the monsoon becoming active, a heavy rainfall of 11 cm lashed Luxettipet in Adilabad district. In other districts, Veeraghattam recorded 10 cm, Boath, Khanapur,
Parvathipuram 9 cm each, Kalingapatnam 8 cm and Visakhapatnam Airport, Nirmal and Utnoor 7 cm each.
At least 40 other places in various districts received a rainfall up to 6 cm each.
