Civic body imposes fine on the Master Blaster for occupying dream home in Bandra without the necessary Occupation Certificate
Hours after Sachin Tendulkar moved into his dream home in Bandra, the BMC imposed a Rs 4.75lakh penalty on him for moving in without acquiring an Occupancy Certificate (OC).
The legendary batsman received the rude shock as he moved into his five-storeyed home at Perry Cross Road in Bandra (West). Confirming the same, Chief Engineer (Development Plan) R Kukanur, said, "He will be penalised Rs 4.75 lakh for inhabiting a house before getting the OC. It was due in procedure and he would have got the OC in the next four days."

As per the law, one cannot enter a flat or building without receiving an OC for it. A senior official from the building proposals department said action could be initiated against Sachin by slapping a notice under Section 350 (A) of the BMC Act for occupying premises without an OC.
The official further added, "A person who illegally occupies a house without an OC can be prosecuted, but it rarely happens as the person would receive the OC in a few days time. Other than the OC bit, there are no violations in the building and Sachin should have waited for four days before performing the grihapravesh puja on Wednesday."
Sachin's secretary remained mum on the issue.
Meanwhile, other sources have revealed that the batsman has purchased over 40 exquisite paintings and showpieces from an art store.
'Waive penalty'
Meanwhile, the state government asked BMC Commissioner Subodh Kumar to waive the penalty.
Textiles minister Mohammed Arif Naseem Khan, who is the guardian minister for Mumbai suburbs, said he had spoken to Kumar.
"Sachin is an icon who has brought international laurels to the country. Subodh Kumar told me that he would examine the issue and act accordingly," Khan told reporters yesterday. The minister said Sachin had complied with formalities for getting the OC.
"Normally, one moves into a house after getting the OC. Here, he has submitted documents for the OC, but shifted into the new house without getting the certificate, which according to corporation officials attracts a penalty. He should be exempted from penalty as a special case," the minister added.
However, when MiD DAY approached Deputy Municipal Commissioner Sudhir Naik, PA to the municipal commissioner, he said, "We have not received any intimation from the state government." Subodh Kumar too, remained unavailable for comment on the issue.
Money matter
Sachin had purchased the 8,998 sq ft Dorab Villa in Bandra for Rs 39 crore in 2007 from the Satra Group. Reportedly, he is pumping in about the same amount to redecorate his home.

Lately, the music industry has been shifting from Hyderabad to Chennai. Now, Mani Sharma is doing the same to bring back the music industry from Chennai to Hyderabad.”
They add “Actually Ramoji Film City has got an excellent recording facility in the name of Symphony but it is too far. Many feel it is better to go to Chennai than that. Adding to that there is big opinion that instrument players are completely based only in Chennai. But then, Mani Sharma is planning to employ some great musicians especially the ‘live instrument players’. There is a perception that Hyderabad does not have enough quality musicians. But truth is, talent is there but only streamlining is necessary. This is being done by Mani Sharma by stopping the exodus. The source added “NTR was asked to postpone ‘Oosaravelli’ but he asked to postpone ‘Srirama Rajyam’. Nandamuri fans are angry with this. For them, there are only two gods Balayya and Chandrababu Naidu. And NTR has been hurting them and keeping them at distance. Also, Lokesh was expected to be given the grip over Studio N channel but it was given to NTR Jr by Narne Srinivas. So, this time, ‘Oosaravelli’ may not have the Nandamuri support. Harbhajan Singh dropped for first two ODIs against England
Off-colour Harbhajan Singh was on Thursday dropped while young spinner Rahul Sharma and paceman Sreenath Aravind were the two new faces in India's depleted 15-member squad for the first two one-dayers in next month's ODI series against England.
Gautam Gambhir, who missed the ODI series in the tour of England because of concussion, returned to the squad which will be without the services of a host of seniors, including Sachin Tendulkar, Zaheer Khan, Virender Sehwag and Yuvraj Singh because of injuries.
Vidharba paceman Umesh Yadav and Jharkhand speedster Varun Aaron also figured in the team announced by new BCCI secretary Sanjay Jagdale after a marathon meeting of the selection committee.
The team, to be captained by Mahendra Singh Dhoni, has a predominantly young bowling attack with Praveen Kumar being the spearhead.
The national selectors have picked as many as five fast bowlers and three spinners in Ravindra Jadeja, R Ashwin and Sharma.
Parthiv Patel, who did reasonably well in the recent ODI series against England, has been retained along with upcoming batsman Ajinkya Rahane of Mumbai.
The first ODI of the five-match series will be played in Hyderabad on October 14,, while Delhi will host the second game on October 17. Mohali (Oct 20), Mumbai (Oct 23) and Kolkata (Oct 25) will stage the other three matches.

Sanju baba gifts Rs 30 lakh bike to Ranbir Kapoor
Ranbir Kapoor might have left some of his old friends (read Sonam Kapoor, Imran Khan) behind, but he is sure making some new buddies in B'town. The fourth generation Kapoor lad, who turned 29 yesterday, has found a new best friend in the 52-year-old Sanjay Dutt.
Sanjubaba not only dropped by at the surprise party planned at a Juhu nightspot by Rockstar producer Ashtavinayak to wish the young actor but also bought him a bike worth Rs 30 lakh.
A source informed Mumbai Mirror, "Ranbir and Sanjay Dutt are neighbours. They both live around the same place in Bandra. Also, Dutt has seen Ranbir grow up. They work out together at the same gym in Dutt's building Imperial Heights. Though Ranbir has his own trainer, he had always looked up to Sanju."
"When it came to buying a gift for Ranbir, Dutt immediately thought of a bike. Sanju knows how much Ranbir loves bikes," added the source.
This might make a lot of people in Bollywood wonder why their love for bikes went unnoticed by Sanjubaba. After all, a Rs 30 lakh bike is a dream come true for many. However, one may recall, that Sanjay Dutt's love for Ranbir goes back a long way.

When contacted, Sanjay Dutt still seemed to be pondering over the gift option. "I am thinking of gifting Ranbir a bike. I don't know if it's a good idea or not. But he is a lovely boy and I am very fond of him," said the man.
Our source confirmed, "Dutt gifted the bike to Ranbir last night. It apparently costs around Rs 30 lakh."

Added to his performance there was a good script which contributed to the success and the attitude of the producers who never compromised on anything which led to the success of the film.

Love-marriage case brings Veerappan’s daughter to HC
Nearly seven years after forest brigand Veerappan's death, his 21-year-old daughter Vidya Rani's love marriage with a Christian youth has brought her back under judicial attention and intense media glare.
Police brought Vidya to the Madras high court on Tuesday after her husband Mariya Deepak approached the court stating that Veerappan's wife Muthulakshmi was opposed to their inter-caste marriage and that she had kept Vidya under illegal custody.
According to Deepak, he and Vidya were in love for over two years when he was studying in Loyola College and she was pursuing her arts degree in the Women's Christian College here. He said they got married on March 30, 2011 and had duly registered their marriage with the sub-registrar's office at Kodambakkam here on April 26, 2011. He said they had deep love and affection for each other, and that they were living happily in Chennai.
He said that on August 25, Muthulakshmi took Vidya with her to Salem district saying that they have to do a pooja at her father Veerappan's memorial at his native place Mecheri in Mettur taluk in Salem district. As the whereabouts of Vidya was not known, he filed a habeas corpus petition in the high court, stating that he was worried about her safety.
A couple of weeks ago, a division bench comprising Justice C Nagappan and Justice M Sathyanarayanan directed the police to produce her in court. Till that point of time, neither the judges nor additional public prosecutor Maharajan handling the case was aware of the fact that Vidya Rani was the daughter of Veerappan. The matter assumed significance only after the Q-Branch police alerted others.
Though Vidya was brought to the court on Tuesday, she could not be produced before the judges as she had arrived late. She will be formally produced before the bench on Wednesday, said Maharajan. Since she is a major and that her marriage is duly registered, the judges are likely to allow her to go with her husband if she desires so.

The senior Tollywood personality AVS may be a dud when it comes to delivering comedy as a director but he has always been good as an actor. Those who know him say he is double humorous off the sets. This was seen recently at an event and the one to enjoy his joke was the seductive actress Jayalalitha.
All this was happening during the felicitation ceremony for Brahmanandam by Subbarami Reddy’s Kala Parishad. The event took place at Vizag. When AVS took the mike, he recalled a joke about how once he was to be felicitated through ‘Pushpabhishekam’ and instead of the flowers, the person who was supposed to throw the flowers fell from top into AVS’s lap.
AVS said, “As the person fell on my lap, I was suffered a lot with pain in some organs of my body that I cannot name them publicly. They are not functioning even now”.
While this was generating few smiles, the one person who enjoyed it most was Jayalalitha. She was sitting on the stage amongst all celebrities and she enjoyed that joke. However, here is the flip side. Few regulars to such events reveal “Whenever AVS comes onstage, he repeats the same vulgar joke. Maybe that’s the only one he knows. Recently he told the same joke at an event in Ravindra Bharathi. Maybe he thinks people will not know. But he should realize that people watch everything on TV.”

Jagjit Singh critical after brain haemorrhage
Hours before Jagjit Singh's much-awaited performance at Shanmukhanand Hall for the 'Fever Unplugged' concert last evening, the ace ghazal singer (70) suffered a brain haemorrhage in the morning.
He was immediately rushed to Lilavati hospital where doctors performed a life-saving surgery on him. Dr Sudir Dagaonkar,spokesperson of Lilavati hospital, said Singh had been admitted in the hospital ICU.
Doctors at the hospital told MiD DAY that Singh was under observation and his condition was critical.
"He has a history of heart ailment for which he was on blood thinners and that might have triggered the haemorrhage," said a doctor from the hospital.
A representative of Fever Entertainment, which is organising the 'Fever unplugged concert', said, "Renowned singer, Shri Hariharan, very graciously agreed to be a part of the concert and performed along with Ustad Ghulam Ali. We wish Shri Jagjit Singh a speedy recovery and thank Shri Hariharan for his support."

The political strategy adopted by the TRS has both the Congress and Telugu Desam legislators, differing over the issue of submitting their resignations to the Assembly Speaker. Party legislators from the Congress and the Telugu Desam are blaming each other for the resignation issue, but they have realised, that the TRS chief, Mr K. Chandrasekhar Rao, is only trying to usher in bypolls for the region. If he does realise his plan, he may have the upper hand and secure his party maximum seats in the election by riding on the Telangana wave.
Mr Chandrasekhar Rao had openly offered those who wish to resign a chance to be re-elected, but there are no takers for this offer. It is well known, that if MLAs from the Congress and TD resign to force bypolls, both the parties cannot field the same persons in the elections, for party indiscipline. Even assuming that the party will issue them tickets again, the TRS will try to field its own nominee and ask the people to defeat the main parties, since they are not in favour of a separate Telangana state.
In such a case the “resigned” MLAs have either to contest the elections as independents or as TRS nominees. In such a situation they will be at the mercy of Mr Chandrasekhar Rao. The TRS chief also made it clear that both the parties should announce a favourable stand on Telangana. Hot News : Ramcharan's Bollywood Debut With 'Zanjeer'
The journey of Tollywood stars to Bollywood has been on a rising trend. Now, the time has come for the young superstar Ramcharan Tej to make his presence felt. Sources say Cherry is keen on debuting in Bollywood with the remake of the yesteryears blockbuster hit ‘Zanjeer’ starring Amitabh Bachchan and Pran.
Sources reveal that nothing is finalized but talks are on between Charan and children of late director/producer Prakash Mehra for the rights of the film. The talk is that Charan wants his debut as an action hero and not as lover boy. From Prakash Mehra’s end, the spokesperson revealed that many big producers are in talks with them for buying the rights of ‘Zanjeer’ and ‘Sharaabi’.
So, if the talks of Charan become successful then he would step into the shoes of Big B as the tough and honest cop Vijay.

Subbarami Reddy's Sontha Dabba
It is a known fact that former union minister and Rajya Sabha member T Subbarami Reddy is a cheap publicity monger. He does not lose any opportunity to grab the media limelight and get some publicity.
The other day, Subbarami Reddy attended a function organized by the National Thermal Power Corporation at Visakhapatnam to declare the commercial operation of its unit-III of 500 MW capacity.
The chief guest at the function was union power minister Sushil Kumar Shinde.
While welcoming him, NTPC chairman and managing director Aroop Roy Chowdhury reminded the audience that it was the birthday of Shinde. Everybody greeted the union minister and presented him with bouquets.
Subbarami Reddy was perhaps feeling jealous. When his turn came to speak, he said it was a happy occasion, as Shinde was celebrating his birthday by inaugurating the power unit.
“In fact, all great people are born in the month of September. Shinde is one; and Akkineni Nageshwara Rao is another great person to celebrate his birthday this month,” he said, adding: “Of course, my birthday also falls in this month only.”
And when Shinde finally spoke, he had no choice but to great Subbarami Reddy, amidst loud applause from the audience!

Daggubati Rana Injured Seriously!!
Daggubati Rana who is currently shooting for his Hindi movie ‘Department’ is reportedly injured.
The incident took place when he was shooting for an action sequence at a steel factory in the outskirts of Mumbai. It is heard that Rana suffered grave injuries on his knees and shoulder.
According to unit members, Rana was supposed to jump on few boxes and due to mistiming and miscalculation he ended up landing on his knees and even his knee caps protection broke.
Now, he is suffering with an injured knee and a badly bruised shoulder. It is heard that he is returning to Hyderabad tomorrow.
Sources say Rana has been advised to take rest for few days and he would be taking part in few close up shots and not take part in action sequences till his knees are healed. To add to the woes, it is heard that when Rana met with the injury, there was no medical help around since the location was away from the city. So the local fighters put in few ice packs. Get well soon Rana!!

Deeksha Stops Cherry From Horse Riding

Janardana Maharshi is the director and producer for this movie while S P Balu and K Vishwanath are playing key roles.
Coming back to the song, for SPB itself this number will be challenging but given the flavour of this, many say it will be a relief from routine movies.
There is also a buzz that the makers approached Dr Mangalampalli Balamurali Krishna to render the song. He heard the tracks and was totally impressed, as per sources. Let us see who lives up to the challenge now.

Crazy Movie 'Ra.One' to also release in Tamil, Telugu
To woo the Southern audience, Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan will release his much awaited sci fi film "Ra.One" in Tamil and Telugu as well.
"The film will be released in Tamil and Telugu as well. It will release simultaneously when the Hindi version of the film will release. The Tamil and Telugu versions are already ready. The dubbing is done," Shah Rukh told reporters here on the sidelines of the music launch of the film.
"We might release it in German and few other languages as well. I'm in talks with Eros for this," he added.
"Ra. One" that is slated for a Diwali release and will be available for viewing in both 3D and 2D formats, will present Shah Rukh as a super hero for the first time. Directedby Anubhav Sinha, the film also stars Kareena Kapoor and Arjun Rampal in pivotal characters.

The fatal accident involving Ayazuddin, younger son of former Indian cricket captain Mohammad Azharuddin on Sunday morning, is believed to have sent waves of fear in the spine of top Tollywood hero Junior N T Rama Rao.
Like Ayaz, Jr NTR is also fond of super bike racing. In fact, he is the first customer in India to buy the super bike, Harley Davidson Night Rod Special. He bought the bike at a cost of Rs 18.95 lakh (ex showroom cost in Hyderabad), a few months ago.
Like Ayaz, Jr NTR also has the habit of regularly riding his favourite bike on the Outer Ring Road in the early hours, as there would not be much rush and nobody would recognize him. He would wear helmet and zoom on the empty roads just for fun.
However, after Ayaz’s accident, Jr NTR is believed to be scared of venturing out with his super bike.
“It will take at least for a few months for him to recover from the shock. He will be doubly careful in riding the bike hereafter,” sources said.

Imran Khan’s Crazy Movie ‘Delhi Belly’ in Tamil: Simbu to play Imran?
Remakes have now become the norm and the boundaries between the various ‘Woods’ and their fans are diminishing. The latest Bollywood movie to cross the Vindhyas is Delhi Belly; Kollywood is all set to cast the movie in Tamil. If rumours are to believed, ‘Little’ superstar Simbu will essay the character played by Imran Khan in the original. Delhi Belly, which had the dingy suburbs of Delhi as its backdrop, showcased a black-comical story involving a trio of friends, their relations, jobs and problems. The language and antics, though novel, were criticised by a large section of fans for being crude and even lewd. Critics are waiting eagerly to see how Tamil society, which is considered to be conservative , would take to a screenplay that was ostracised by a large section of mature audiences in a more open Hindi-speaking world. If the film cuts down on its raunchy humour, it will lose the shock factor and render a flick that will rise no higher than the commonplace. It will also be interesting to see how Tamil censors would react to the film, given that the original had the Bollywood scissor tribe going red in the face.

Multiplex theatres have rejected to screen Navadeep’s films. Already they suffered enough losses due to his previous films so they are no longer interested to incur further losses.

"People talk about Mynas or Ala Modalaindis but as a segment small-budget films success ratio is lesser than their big-budget counterparts," he added.
One of his follower didn't agree with Sirish's version. In fact, he described the star producer's son as a selfish person who always wants to promote his family heroes films only.
"@SirishAllu you will talk like that only cos u wanna promote ur films. But ppl find some variety in those films rather than ur badrinath," said Sirish's follower.
"@SirishAllu I don't bother stats!! I just wanna tell u how people receive the films, if the content is good, irrespective of their budget!! people come with lot of expectations to high budget flms & if the content is disappointing, the result would be a catastrophic disaster. where as for small budget movies, expectations would be low and even if it is not good the conditions won't be adverse!!," he added.
All this have not gone well with the celebrity kid. Sirish is not apprehensive in settling scores with the guy who blamed him.
"If you dont know stats just STFU and sit. More small films are cost failures than big movies," Sirish reacted.

Obviously, Jagan was irritated when the media asked for his opinion on the arrest of mining tycoon and former Karnataka tourism minister Gali Janardhan Reddy with regard to the Obulapuram iron ore mining scandal.
“I don’t understand why you people are asking my opinion on the arrest of Janardhan Reddy. This is nothing but hitting me below the belt,” he said.
Jagan clarified that he was no way related to Janardhan Reddy and had any connections whatsoever with his activities.
“He belongs to a different political party. If you want to seek an opinion on his arrest, you ask the BJP people or go to Karnataka and ask people there. Why are you asking me?” he wondered.
The media, however, is not going to leave him. They somehow link the corruption charges against Jagan with that of Janardhan Reddy.
