Hindhi Movie Rascals Reivew

Director David Dhawan returns to the screen after a prolonged hiatus. And sadly, he returns with a film that ain't too fresh and reminds you of his earlier venture, Deewana Mastana, with Govinda and Anil Kapoor trying to outwit each other in order to curry favour with Juhi Chawla. What's more unnerving is the fact that Rascals isn't as funny as the earlier one, where Govinda created a laugh riot with his 'baby steps' and psychiatrist Juhi was worth all the squabbling and sneaking.

The humour in Rascals is too loud and often unfunny while Kangna Ranaut is too hysterical and dumb-headed to evoke all the trouble and attention. Okay, so dumbness can be excused in Bollywood comedies which ostensibly revel in low IQ gags. Hence we'll pass Rascals and qualify it as a one-time watch....Only because it has a spirited act by Ajay Devgn who seems to be loving his comedy, all over again, and an unusual, totally out-of-spirit act by Arjun Rampal as the tapori. Sanjay Dutt keeps pace suitably. Also, the songs (Vishal Shekhar) are lively and there are a handful of scenes that do make you laugh, a bit.

A word of advice to Kangna. Stick to serious roles and stay away from comedy.
