The impending homecoming of former Minister and Praja Rajyam leader, T. Devender Goud into Telugu Desam appears to have triggered trouble in the party with a senior leader from Ranga Reddy district, P. Srinivasulu Naidu questioning the leadership over the issue.
In a strong letter to the party president, N. Chandrababu Naidu, he wondered why leaders who had left the party for their selfish interests were being welcomed into the party fold again creating problems for those who remained loyal and who were subjugated by Mr. Goud.
He cited the examples of senior MLA from Parigi in Ranga Reddy district, K. Harishwar Reddy, former Minister, T. Srinivas Yadav and another senior leader, Arvind Kumar Goud.
“Your ‘operation swagruha’ may look good for you but did you ever think its impact on such leaders and the party?” he asked. Mr. Srinivasulu Naidu, who is the former member of the party’s human resources development committee, made a series of allegations against the party president from being unable to change his mindset to becoming Chief Minister in 1995 through backdoor methods and committing series of mistakes that harmed the party. “Under your leadership, party will become bed-ridden.” He found fault with him for targeting electronic voting machines “after earning the image of hi-tech Chief Minister”, blaming Praja Rajyam party and Lok Satta for the party’s defeat rather than looking inwards and supporting party MLA T. V. Rama Rao facing molestation charges.
