The promos of Dil Bole Hadippa are out and we just can't stop laughing. The lead pair of Shahid Kapur and Rani Mukerji looks a perfect ma-beta combination. Mind you, this is the result despite Rani shedding oodles of weight to match up with the baby-faced Shahid.
So can you imagine what would have happened if the queen of hearts would have decided to romance the Kaminey star in her earlier plump avatar?? We are not even thinking! But this is not the first time we have seen such a weird pairing onscreen. Let's take a look at those filmi couples who looked…er…just not made for each other…
Akshay Kumar-Rekha in Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi
The movie was no doubt one of the biggest hits of 1996. But the steamy scenes between Rekha and Akshay Kumar were not really alluring. Just for the heck of portraying lust, Rekha, the diva was paired up with a then-nothing Akshay Kumar. Watching them wrestling in mud and showering together was even more agonising!
Himesh Reshammiya, Hansika in Aap ka Suroor
You can't really blame the casting director here because any actress would look horrible with Himesh Reshammiya. But Hansika was looking more like his daughter in the movie so the question of chemistry does not arise at all. Let's not torture you by talking about their acting skills!
Govinda, Katrina Kaif in Partner
The story of Partner did require a fat geek falling in love with his rich, pretty boss, but casting Katrina and Govinda was quite absurd. There was hardly any chemistry and even the funny side of their pairing seemed forced.
Shahid Kapur, Vidya Balan in Kismat Konnection
Now, this one really takes the cake! Shahid and Vidya looked horrible together in Kismat Konnection. The hype of them having an affair in real-life did no good to the movie as people left the theatres saying, "Vidya was looking like Shahid's mother." Vidya was overweight and it looked as if she would crush little Shahid if he got too close to her!
Akshay Kumar, Ayesha Takia in 8*10 Tasveer
God knows what Nagesh Kukunoor was thinking when he cast Akshay Kumar and Ayesha Takia. Did he not get a better actress or couldn't he afford one? Whatever the cause, the casting was one of the major reasons the film bombed. Akshay Kumar was way too tall for Ayesha and there was NO chemistry between them at all.
