Dr Y.S. Vivekananda Reddy, former MP and brother of the Chief Minister, Dr Y.S. Rajsekhar Reddy, is all set to enter the Legislative Council with the Election Commission announcing the bypoll schedule for the two vacant seats from Kadapa and Anantapur local bodies on Monday.
Nominations will be filed from August 21 and the last date for filing papers is August 28. Scrutiny will be done on the following day and if necessary election will be held on September 15. The seats fell vacant after the resignation of Mr Putta Narasimha Reddy from Kadapa, who was elected on a Congress ticket, and Mr Palle Raghunadha Reddy from Anantapur who was elected on a TD ticket.
Mr Narasimha Reddy resigned from his seat after he was selected to fight as the TD candidate from Kamalapur Assembly seat which he lost. Mr Raghunadha Reddy who was elected as TD MLA from Gorantla had to resign as MLC. For the Anantapur local body vacancy, Mr Patil Venugopal Reddy, will be the Congress candidate. The Congress will win both the seats.
