More PG medical seats likely

The government has plans to sanction 375 more post-graduate seats in government medical colleges, said Minister for Medical Education P. Sudarshan Reddy.

A proposal was drawn up for this at a cost of Rs.294 crore, he said during Question Hour in the Legislative Council on Thursday. The government also wanted to ensure that at least one medical college was set up in every district.

Replying to a question from K. Dileep Kumar (TRS rebel), he said foundation for a medical college in Nizamabad was already laid.
