Six flicks this weekend

Comedy, romance, suspense and drama, this week you are going to get all this and much more. As many as six movies are going to release this Friday. After last week's not-so-great movies like Sikandar and Shadow, we are sure you might be eagerly waiting for new flicks. But don't get too excited as most of them are over-the-top movies with not-so-happening scripts and well-known stars. Here are the films you should watch and the others you need to skip [which is most of it :(].

Quick Gun Murugun

We can't wait to watch the adventures of our desi cowboy telling some rascalas to mind it! Starring Rajendra Prasad in the title role, Lola Kutty and Rambha, we can't wait to watch this film. The short films on Quick Gun Murugun directed by Shashanka Ghosh on Channel V have only whet our appetite for a long movie.

Our verdict: Watch this film and have a blast.

Kisaan

Starring Jackie Shroff, Sohail Khan, Arbaaz Khan, Nauheed Cyrusi and Dia Mirza, Kisaan is the saga of a farmer family. Honestly in this day and age who wants to watch a family drama revolving around farmers! The cast is not too appealing and the music is also bland.

Our verdict: Skip this movie and have a better weekend.

Toss - A flip of destiny

It might sound like a Hollywood film, but sorry to disappoint you, it's a complete melodramatic suspense film. Starring Prashant Raj (from Ram Gopal Varma ki Aag), Ashmit Patel, Aarti Chhabria and Rannvijay who is making his debut with this film, Toss revolves around six friends who stumble upon two chests of money. The story might sound interesting but the choice of actors is completely putting off.

Our verdict: Completely avoidable.

Daddy Cool

A remake of the very enjoyable English film Death at a funeral, the tagline of this movie reads 1funeral, 100 f@#k Ups. This film is touted to be a joy ride as it's produced by Indra Kumar and Ashok Thakeria (the same people who have given us hits like Masti and Dhamaal). But honestly we don't think so! With a cast comprising Suniel Shetty, Aftab Shivdasani, Aarti Chhabria, Javed Jaffrey, Ashish Chowdhury, Sophie Choudhry, Kim Sharma and Rajpal Yadav, you actually think it's a complete B-grade movie.

Our verdict: Watch it if you like slapstick comedy.

Yeh Mera India

If you thought this week promises only some slapstick films, then you are wrong! Directed by N Chandra, Yeh Mera India promises to be a patriotic film. Starring Atul Kulkarni, Sarika, Anupam Kher, Rajat Kapur and Sarika, we wonder if N Chandra will actually manage to recreate his magic. The movie has a good star cast but it has not been publicised too much.

Our verdict: Watch it if you are a fan of patriotic films.

Love Khichdi

This film promises to be a romantic comedy with a bevy of beauties trying to win Randeep Hooda's heart. So we have Riya Sen, Divya Dutta, Rituparno Sengupta, Sonali Kulkarni among others to woo him. Though the actresses seem to be alright, we fail to fathom why they would fall for a certain Mr Randeep Hooda.

Our verdict: Completely avoidable.
