Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na star Imran Khan has finally proposed to his long time sweetheart Avantika Malik. The couple got engaged recently. Apparently, Imran had thrown a surprise birthday party for Avantika where he surprised everyone by popping the question.

Well, so there we have another bachelor gearing up to don the sherwani. But they are not the only childhood sweethearts tying the knot. The Bollywood list is endless. So, let's go down memory lane and revive a few other such stories.

Shah Rukh Khan-Gauri Khan

It was love at first sight for King Khan when he set his eyes on Gauri Dutta. He saw his lady love walking down a New Delhi road and the first thing he noticed was the most amazing pair of legs in a short skirt. After that, there was no looking back. He just fell in love.

Back then, Gauri was everything King Khan was not - cool, stylish and classy. He was sloppy, hyper and hated dressing up. That's one reason why he credits his sartorial sense to his wife even today. Apparently, when Gauri's family opposed their wedding because of their religious differences, he wooed her family in true Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge style. They finally got married in 1991.

Hrithik Roshan-Sussane Khan

Hrithik Roshan and Sussane Khan became the best of friends before they fell in love. They met a couple of times, got to know each other better and became the best of buddies. She stuck by him through his superstardom phase post Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai. Duggu (as Hrithik is fondly called) knew he had found his soul mate. Neither of them made any verbal commitment but they knew they were in love. Marriage was obviously on the cards. As for the parents, they were ready with the baarat as soon as they heard about their relationship. Their marriage is the most talked about even today. They tied the knot in 2000.

Jackie Shroff-Ayesha Dutt

This one is literally a record-breaking love story. Ayesha Dutt first saw Jackie Shroff at a record store. Jackie dada was not a hero then and Ayesha was a school girl. He just walked up to her and politely asked 'May I help you?' Listening to his sexy voice, she was at once attracted to him. She went back home and told her mom that she had found the guy of her dreams. After that small incident, they met, dated, got married in 1987 and are living happily ever after.

Suniel Shetty-Mana Kadri

This couple first met at a pastry shop, Pastry Palace, which Suniel frequented with his friends. Back then, Suniel was a long-haired stud, apparently the Dada of his locality, riding a sleek bike through Nepean Sea road. On one such visit, their eyes met and their lives changed. Suniel started getting friendly with Mana's sister just to get to know Mana better. He wooed her with chocolates, letters etc. His efforts finally paid off and Mana agreed. After dating for nine years, they tied the knot. His wedding present to her was a BMW which said, 'BMW. Be my wife!' Now that's one romantic husband!

Bobby Deol-Tanya Ahuja

Bobby Deol first set his eyes on the gorgeous Tanya Ahuja at Trattoria, the Italian restaurant at Mumbai's Hotel President. He had been there with his friends to relish an Italian meal when he set his eyes on Tanya. At that time though Bobby was quite popular among women, it took some time for him to cast his spell on his lady love. Finally, after much persuasion, Tanya agreed and they got hitched in 1996.

Aamir Khan-Reena Dutta

Aamir fell in love with the girl next door Reena Dutta and proposed to her when he turned 21. But his parents were against their marriage as she was not a Muslim. Finally they eloped in true Bollywood style and got married against the wishes of their family members in 1986. Initially, their marriage was kept under wraps. They split in 2002 with mutual consent.
