What would Salman Khan do if he met the Queen of England? The scenario may not be as remote as it sounds as Sallu’s upcoming Veer is set to be the first Hindi film ever to be shot at Buckingham Palace.
Buckingham Palace is the official London residence of the British Monarch, and is used only for state occasions and royal hospitality. However, an exception was made in this case and permission was granted for the Eros International and Vijay Galani production to be shot within the premises.
A source told us: “Buckingham Palace is literally sacred ground for British royalty, and they never allow any commercial activity to take place within its boundaries. But they did make an exception for Veer. The setting of the palace gave the film a larger-than-life feel. Any other location just wouldn’t have done justice to the script.”
“Permission to shoot within the royal palace was taken three months in advance. The stills shot within Buckingham Palace look surreal,” adds the source. Veer is set for a January 2010 release.
