Media Misunderstood @ Kajal Agarwal!

Even as rumors are doing the rounds that a key South Indian cinema body is planning to take action against Kajal Agarwal for her comment in a Mumbai tabloid, the actress who is now in the country after a month-long shoot in Bangkok, Austria and Germany for Naga Chaitanya's "Dhada", is shocked at the uproar being created. The comment — "I have not seen myself as a South Indian actress. I am a Punjabi girl." — was misinterpreted, she says.

"What the hell is happening," was her first reaction. "I never said 'I'm not a South Indian actress. I said I am a Mumbai girl. Mumbai is my home and that means that I do not have to relocate. I was misquoted," says a furious Kajal. She goes on to add, "I'm clueless about all this. I don't know why such things are being said and why I am being misunderstood, South films and the South industry have always had a very special place in my life. I haven't been in the country for over a month now and wasn't available to even give such quotes to the media."

The actress, who maintains that she was just doing a Hindi film and not moving to Bollywood, says, "Even though I do hail from Bombay, South India is the birthplace of my career and I would never speak like this about the industry I am so attached to. In spite of whatever people around have to say, I do not really need to prove my loyalties to my audience, they can see it through my work. I have always taken and continue to take great pride in being a 'South Indian' actress and am currently working on four projects in Telugu and Tamil — I am shooting with Suriya for "Maatran" directed by KV Anand. The project goes on floors in mid-July. I am working on "The Business Man" with Mahesh and "Dhada" with Naga Chaitanya."

When asked about her role in the much-talked about remake of "Dabbangg" with Pawan Kalyan, Kajal says that "nothing has been finalized yet" and on a Hindi film "Bol Bachchan Bol" that is in the pipeline, she fields the question with "I am not permitted to reveal more on my commitments in any language as of now. Will let you know shortly."
