'Hidden Face' Heroine Overtakes Kajal

Kajal might be one of the most sought after actresses in the South, but she too has her share of failures. Surprisingly, this top league actress had to lose out to a 15-Year-Old Girl. Thulasi Nair, Daughter of veteran actress Radha, has replaced Kajal in ace Cinematographer-turned-Director Ravi K Chandran's debut film Yaan. Although Kajal was the first choice for the role, after seeing the rushes of Maniratnam's upcoming film Kadal in which Thulasi is making her debut as a actress, the director roped in the teenage girl for the female lead in his film. Anyhow Mani Ratnam kept Thulasi under hidden mode until first look of Kadal official release happens. As Yaan is a try-lingual film (Telugu-Tamil-Hindi), it will mark the debut of Thulasi in Bollywood. Despite having a blockbuster film Rangam to her credit, Karthika is still struggling to bag big projects. But, her younger sister has already become director's favourite and giving tough fight to top actresses even before the release of her debut film. Great going Thulasi!
