Kannada Super Star Puneeth Rajkumar, Vikram come together

Recently, it was reported that Tamil star Chiyaan Vikram would be helming a project, which would be a song and video, titled The Spirit of Chennai. This was conceptualized to salute the volunteers and warriors who helped that city during the recent floods. Now, Kannada star Puneeth Rajkumar has offered to lend his support to Vikram's effort by agreeing to be a part of this song. A source close to Puneeth tells us, "Puneeth spoke to Vikram around a week ago, when the latter contacted him for this. While the dates and the modalities haven't been worked out yet, Puneeth has agreed to support the cause." Meanwhile, Puneeth, who has been working simultaneously on Chakravyuha and Dodmane Huduga, has also signed a new film. He will be doing the Kannada remake of the 2015 Tamil film Vedalam, which starred Ajith and Shruti Haasan in lead roles. Nanda Kishore will be directing this project that will mark the entry of Tamil producer AM Rathnam into Sandalwood.
