Former Bharatiya Janata Party MP from Narasapuram Gokaraju Gangaraju
on Wednesday said he had no objection if the Jagan Mohan Reddy
government demolished his guest house constructed on the banks of
Krishna river at Vundavalli.
He, however, said the government should not go selectively in the
demolitions but raze all the constructions on the Krishna river banks.
“There are several residential complexes, guest houses, nature cure
hospitals, orphanages and even the buildings constructed by the Tourism
department. Will the government demolish all of them?” he asked.
Stating that he had replied to the notices given by the CRDA
authorities, Gangaraju said his guest house was constructed 17 years ago
after obtaining permissions.
“The authorities then told me that I could construct the guest house
30 metres away from the river. It was not on the river bank,” he pointed
out.
He said he had given lands to several institutions involved in social service.
“I have not got any favours from any government. My intention was not
to damage Krishna river at all. But I felt constructing a guest house
near Krishna river will bring him good fortune,” he said.
