All of us knows that Hrithik Roshan is acting
with Maxican actress Barbara Mori in his forthcoming film Kites. As if that is not enough, he is going to act with yet another Hollywood star – a much bigger star. She is non other than the Twilight fame Kirsten Stewart.
Yes, you heard it right. The news is doing the rounds that Shekhar Kapur is roping in Kristen Stewart to act with Hrithik in his next film Paani. Kristen acted with Robert Pattinson in Twilight and its sequel New Moon. She is awaiting the release of Eclipse.
Sources said that Shekhar was looking for a girl to play a wealthy beauty for his film. So, he approached Kristen for the role, and surprisingly, she gave the green signal, provided the terms and conditions are met. Shekhar revealed that he would make Paani this year but refused to talk about its cast. He is not in the mood to speak about the film till everything is finalised.

Sonam and Imran's romance gets 'dirty'
It seems that the onscreen romance between the lead pair of the under production movie I Hate Luv Stories, i.e Imran Khan and Sonam Kapoor, went for a real toss!
It so happened that the duo was filming a romantic song in New Zealand’s countryside and were supposed to run to each other, and fall into a long embrace. Sonam was then asked to lean on Imran’s arms, reminding the audience of the signature Raj Kapoor-Nargis Dutt pose from the RK movies.
Director Punit Malhotra wasn’t impressed with the first few takes, so he asked Imran and Sonam to lend more grace to the move, which tired out Imran.
However, it ended up being a total disaster as Sonam rushed into his arms and Imran leaned back with a little gush of enthusiasm, thus losing his grip. Both the actors lost their balance and came down with a thud.
To make matters worse, Sonam fell on some cow dung left back by a cattle grazing nearby. Poor Sonam had to immediately rush for a shower. The only saving grace was that the actress’ costume, which got spoilt in the bargain, was not needed in any other shots.
Guess magic like Raj Kapoor's can't be created, it just happens on it's own!

I've no cat fight, lesbian angle with Neetu: Tanushree Dutta

One wonders though that isn't it amusing that during the making of most of the films (and especially around the release time) stories about cat fights start making headlines? Aren't audience expected to understand that there can't be much truth to this?
"I generally believe that these controversy angles have become passé. Whoever is playing up these kind of rumours doesn't realize that it is only ending up harming the film", says Tanushree Dutta who is obviously unhappy with the way this entire episode has taken shape, "I strongly believe though that such stories are not coming from the production house but some outside camps.
These controversies, actresses doing cat fights, lesbian angles - come on, give me a break. And gosh, what was this story around an apparent shower scene in the film? Please, there is none. These are just rumours floating for no reasons."
On a positive note though, her director Jagmohan Mundhra appears to be quite impressed with the very virtue of her picking up the film since supposedly not many girls were keen at playing a victim.
"See, I have played a villain earlier in 'Raqeeb' so I thought of doing something different this time around", says Tanushree with a straight face, "I had a choice of either playing a villain or a victim and I did the latter.
This adds variety to my work platter. In fact I remember asking Jag that which role did he want me to play and he suggested that of the victim. I too am pleased with it because while the character played by Neetu is monotonous, the one that I do has a lot of shades."
Now that's quite a statement from her. Does she wish to elaborate further?
"I am not undermining Neetu's role; after all it is all negative and powerful.
Still, it is monotone character and has one shade to it", she adds cautiously, "On the other hand my character has lot of shades to it. There is an air hostess angle to it which shows that I am a smart working woman.
Also, since I am shown to be in a relationship, you would see a soft sensitive side to me as well. And then when I get victimized, then there is this trauma and pain also that come in. So yeah, I get to do a lot in the film and I am satisfied."

Akshay Kumrar and SRK in a movie?
If Sajid Khan has his way, then it will be a casting coup of sorts. But, for now, it’s just a wish. The director, who has his Housefull ready for release, said that it’s his dream to cast Akshay Kumar and Shah Rukh Khan in a movie together.
But isn’t that a bit too much to ask for? “Well, when I had told both the stars about my desire to direct them, they didn’t say no. So there’s always a possibility,” said Sajid, who is confident that if there’s any director who could do justice to the movie with both the superstars in it, then it’s him.

I'm all for glamorous roles: Raima Sen
Actress Raima Sen, known for experimental and offbeat roles in Chokher Bali and Antar Mahal, says she now wants to show her glamorous avatar on the big screen.
"Yes, why not. I'm all for glamour and I would love
to portray a glamorous character," said Raima, who showcased her talents in both Hindi as well as regional movies.
She made her debut with Godmother in 1999, followed by Rituparno Ghosh's Chokher Bali and Pradeep Sarkar's Parineeta. She also featured in Antar Mahal in Bengali and The Bong Connection.
But the 30-year-old denies on being typecast to a specific genre.
"No it's not a conscious decision at all. Like I said, I end up choosing the best of what I get. So if a great commercial movie comes my way, I'll grab it. I want to work with different directors and experiment with different, interesting roles - ranging from out and out commercial to offbeat."
Raima thinks she has been fortunate enough with her line-up of film when she looks back and feels lucky at her achievements.
"I've learnt a lot, experiences that cannot be measured in words and sentences and feelings that cannot be captured in a gist. But overall it's been a fun experience. I cherish all the movies I've done so far and I've been lucky to have many opportunities to work with great co-stars and directors."
Her recent release was "The Japanese Wife".
Talking about the challenges she faced while playing a mother of an eight-year-old child, she said: "It was definitely the most challenging task because I had to get under the skin of a mother and behave like one - a role to which I have no connection with as Raima Sen."
"But what was more challenging was portraying the character of a young widow. Grappling with unfulfilled desires, coming to terms with having no authority over your life, living with another man and falling in love with him but not being able to do anything about it. All these were a crazy mish-mash of emotions that I had to deal with and convey effectively to make my act as Sandhya convincing," she added.
The actress says more than roles, the script and director hold more importance while agreeing to do a film.
"I'm not exactly choosy and fussy but I choose the best of what I'm offered. For me, the story is of primary importance. Even the role I'm offered is secondary to a good story. If I like the story and I'm confident about the director, I end up taking the role irrespective of it's length," said Raima.
In her future projects, she revealed, she will be sharing screen space with sister Riya Sen in "Nauka Dubi" directed by Rituparno Ghosh and is slated for May-June release. She also has Vinay Shukla's "Mirch" starring Boman Irani, Shreyas Talpade, Konkona Sen Sharma and Shahana Goswami.

Ranbir kapoor to revive R K banner
Ranbir Kapoor has stepped up efforts to revive his late grandfather, the legendary Raj Kapoor's R K Films banner. Though the actor has denied playing the late star filmmaker in a new film, he says the family has zeroed in on some scripts for a home production.
"There has been a lot of progress in our plans to revive the RK banner. We have zeroed in on some scripts and we hope to start production soon," said Ranbir.
"The Kapoor family is in the film industry since the past 80 years starting from my great grandfather Prithviraj Kapoor, to me and my cousins (Karisma and Kareena). I hope we continue to contribute to cinema in the same way," he added. The RK banner was set up by Raj Kapoor in 1948 and is known for making noted films like Awaara, Shri 420 and Satyam Shivam Sundaram.
Ranbir is working with his father Rishi Kapoor and uncle Randhir Kapoor in finalising the scripts.
The 27-year-old denied reports that he will be starring in a film made on the romance between Raj Kapoor and Nargis but confirmed he would be playing legendary singer Kishore Kumar in a biopic by Anurag Basu.
"It's completely nonsense. There is no film being made on Raj Kapoor and Nargis. Neither any director, nor any production house has approached me, but yes, I am playing Kishore Kumar in an upcoming film and that film will only be releasing next year," he said.
Asked about his camaraderie with his cousins Karisma and Kareena, he said: "It's great. Although we don't get time to talk to each other frequently due to our busy schedules, but there is a lot of positivity among us and we are very happy with each others' work."
Ranbir's upcoming projects are Raajneeti, Anjana Anjaani and Rockstar.

Imran Khan and Avantika to tie the knot this year
The couple say "kabool hai" later this year. We reveal to you the lovebirds' plans for their big day
Imran Khan and Avantika Malik will tie the knot this year itself. The couple, who were engaged in January, have already started planning for their big day.
Says a source, "They have been talking about their nuptials. The plan is to have a solemn Muslim ceremony in Mumbai followed by a grand wedding bash in an exotic country that will be attended by family members and close friends of both the families."
Date not fixed
The date, however, has not been fixed. Imran has two releases coming up this year: Puneet Malhotra's I Hate Luv Storys produced by Karan Johar, and his mamujaan Aamir Khan's production Delhi Belly, directed by Abhinay Deo.
Let's complete it
The source further adds, "Imran is looking at a time period after he is done with I Hate Love Storys. Delhi Belly is complete and awaits mamujaan's green signal for release which is likely to be in December."
While confirming the wedding plans, Imran's spokesperson states, "It will be a simple ceremony. The date and location remains undecided for now."
At the moment, things are hush-hush and only a select few who are really close to the couple have been kept in the know.
The proposal

In July 2009, Imran had thrown a surprise party for Avantika on her birthday with only family and close friends present. There, he'd surprised everyone by proposing to her. Later, at Arjun Rampal's nightclub opening in New Delhi, where Imran and Avantika were among the guests, a toast was raised to them.
The engagement

Imran Khan exchanged rings with girlfriend Avantika Malik at Karjat on January 16 this year where the Maliks have a farmhouse. Guests had been invited to a day-long outing that included a brunch, followed by the ceremony and dinner. As a special gift for the occasion, Imran had gifted Avantika a VW Beetle. The engagement invitation was in the shape of a metal box that contained a bottle full of sand. The invite has been rolled into the bottle. Ever since his debut in 2008 with Jaane Tu, Imran has always been open about his relationship with Avantika.

Title hunt for karan's new movie
Karan Johar has taken to a networking site to hunt for a title of his Stepmom remake. The director recently put up a poll asking people to choose their favourite title.
K Jo writes, "Our shortlist for Stepmom title options, which one do you like...Love You Maa...We Are Family, Hamesha and Forever and Ghar."
Arjun Rampal too has joined the initiative and asked everyone to send him options for the films title. Our pick: Love You Maa. But it sounds too much like Irrfan Kamal's Thank You Maa.

Ranbir is super fun: Priyanka Chopra
For Priyanka Chopra, 2010 began with a dud called Pyaar Impossible. But the hiccup didn’t prove too costly. The super-smart PC was back making headlines with her National Award (Fashion), the Khatron Ke Khiladi show, her seven roles in Vishal Bhardwaj’s Saat Khoon Maaf and Shah Rukh Khan’s tweets about her. PC in her krackerjack style, spoke to TOI about the men whose professional paths have crossed hers advertently or inadvertently...
Shah Rukh Khan: I have been very vocal about my feelings for Shah Rukh Khan. I can’t tell you how proud, excited and humbled I am that he called me a ‘Shero’. Especially since he is someone I have admired from a very young age. Praise coming from someone I idolise means a lot more to me. It feels even better because when you are self-made, you are constantly looking for someone to say that you are doing the right thing. The fear factor is huge, you keep asking yourself, ‘Am I going the right way?’ I have no formal training. I don’t know films up, close and personal. My schooling has been my career. When compliments like this and awards happen, it just gives me the signal that I am headed in the right direction. I’m going to find my feet soon.
Akshay Kumar: My television debut with Khatron Ke Khiladi is super exciting. I don’t see it as me replacing Akshay Kumar. How can I? Akshay is the original khatron ka khiladi, so I’m not even going to try. I will fail miserably. What I’m going to do is to bring my own personality into the show. And not try and step into Akshay’s shoes. My aim is to make the show young, vivacious, fun, funny and shake it up a little bit. I will not intrude into Akshay’s space. I’m shooting for KKK in August. The shooting days are only 20 and it’s going to be a September season of 16 episodes.
Ranbir Kapoor: I have known Ranbir for three years. We have friends in common. However, I didn’t know him too well when I left for the Anjaana Anjaani schedule in New York. We got to know each other there. He is a phenomenal co-actor, someone who keeps you on your toes. He has a certain sense of give and take. A certain sense of listening. As a person, he is super fun. We were always laughing and joking. It was a great outdoor.
Shahid Kapoor: It is sheer coincidence that Shahid and I were in Goa at the same time. All of Bollywood was there when I landed in Goa a couple of weeks ago. It was designer Abu Jaani’s 50th birthday. My shoot was cancelled, so my best friend Tamana and I decided to go there for a day. Everyone was there including Shahid, Abhishek, Ash and a whole load of others.

Is it a monkey? No, it's Govinda!
A cold serene night in Ooty was disturbed by the rustling of leaves last year. This could have been just another resident monkey, but in fact, it was Govinda jumping from branch to branch, tree to tree. No, Govinda hasn’t lost it again. He was actually shooting an action sequence for Mani Ratnam’s Raavana.
The scene had Hanuman (played by Govinda) looking for Raavana while swinging from tree to tree. A source from the unit reveals, “We were shooting the action stunts with Govinda in the freezing cold at Ooty. The shoots were very taxing as they used to start at 8pm and end at 6am the next day.
Govinda would report on sets on time and get in his costume. The stunts were pretty difficult and Mani Ratman had called for a body double too. But Govinda wanted to shoot the scenes himself.”
The body doubles were used in only two of the 12 to15 scenes shot. Picture this: an overweight, middle-aged man first attempting to climb trees then, swinging from one branch to another.
But the source adds, “Govinda exclaimed that this was one of the more difficult shots he had delivered in a long time. Everyone on sets was overwhelmed by Govinda’s performance and clapped every time he did a shot.”
Overwhelmed indeed. We wonder how scarred the poor monkeys are.Despite repeated attempts, Govinda remained unavailable for comment.

Will Priyanka endorse Kashmir?
If Amitabh Bachchan can be the brand ambassador for Gujarat, Priyanka Chopra seems more than willing to play an equivalent role for Kashmir. And the buzz is that she is being actively considered by the State government’s Tourism department for just that.
After a week-long shooting schedule in the Valley, Priyanka is clearly enamoured by all things Kashmiri. In fact so idyllic was the trip that she is determined to return at the earliest — this time, with her entire family.
“I was in Kashmir two years ago for work and even this time, it’s for work. But I’m coming back here very soon with all my loved ones for a holiday. I was working non-stop for the film and got no time to just relax and soak in the clean air and natural beauty of the Valley. I want to come back just for that, and not for work."
In fact, Priyanka wants to publicly urge other film units in Bollywood to shoot in the Valley. “It’s absolutely safe here. The Tourism department and security personnel were impeccable in their hospitality. Not for a second did I feel there was any danger. I must say I’m leaving Kashmir very reluctantly and can’t wait to be back,” said Priyanka on Tuesday evening, while packing her bags.
Another factor that made her visit to the Valley so memorable was the poetry. Playing a shy Muslim mohtarrma in Vishal Bharadwaj’s film, she was wooed earnestly by Irrfan Khan with poetry written by Gulzar. Sighs the actress. “I’ve always been Gulzar saab’s biggest fan and it has been my sincere wish to work with him. This is the closest I’ve come to his creativity. Actually, it couldn’t get any better ... the most beautiful place on earth and Gulzar saab’s poetry.” Indeed.

Arshad plays a prank on Dia
Come Friday and most producers suffer from panic attacks, but Arshad Warsi is one cool cat. The first-time producer continues to be in high spirits even as his film, Hum Tum aur Ghost is on the brink of release. The funny man even played a prank on co-star Dia Mirza recently.
Arshad and Dia had just finished a media interview as part of the film’s promotions, when Arshad suddenly fainted. A terrified Dia started panicking and didn’t know what to do. “She assumed that Arshad collapsed due to the high stress that one goes through before the release of the film. But soon Arshad was up and about, laughing about how his prank on Dia was successful. Dia was amazed watching Arshad in such a jovial mood even amidst pre-release chaos and tight schedules,” said a source.

Ranbir's with SRK on Sena
Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor praised superstar Shah Rukh Khan for standing up against Shiv Sena during the controversy surrounding the release of 'My Name Is Khan', saying that the bullying of artistes by political groups needs to stop.
Shiv Sena had demanded that the superstar apologise for his remarks favouring inclusion of Pakistani players in IPL and threatened to halt 'MNIK's release.
"I think Shah Rukh was absolutely right, he did not bow down to anyone. He was not wrong in his belief and did not apologise to anyone. I would like to believe that I would have stood up against the Thackerays if something like that would have happened to me," said Ranbir, who was a speaker at the India Today Conclave here.

Abhi gets Kela award
Abhishek Bachchan is a happy man after having won at least one award for his work in Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s Delhi 6, even if it was for the worst accent.
The actor was declared the winner of the Dara Singh Award for worst accent at the Golden Kela awards, a spin-off on Hollywood’s Razzies, recognising the worst in cinema.
AB’s baby is possibly the first and only star who has acknowledged his Kela win. “Another milestone in my career. I won the Golden Kela award for worst accent in Delhi 6. Chalo at least Delhi 6 won something. I’m overjoyed!” tweeted Abhishek.

Dimpy, Rahul will break up: Rakhi
For someone who wanted to choose her husband through a swayamwar on TV, Rakhi Sawant seems unusually perturbed at Rahul Mahajan’s wedding.
Poll vault: “How can one marry by choosing his or her soul mate through a public voting system?” wonders Sawant, probably harking back to her own short-lived engagement with Elesh Parujanwala, chosen via public votes in the last season of the same TV series that Rahul participated in.
Dimpy dumped? “Dimpy bali ka bakra ban gayi hai. There is a huge age difference between Rahul and Dimpy. I am sure that this will lead to differences between them. Also Rahul’s temperament is very volatile and everyone cannot tolerate that. In fact, Rahul should have thought twice before marrying Dimpy because of these reasons. Very soon, you all get to hear that Rahul aur Dimpy ka separation ho gaya hai,” she says.
Pyaar Impossible! “As I earlier said that it is really difficult to choose a life partner through a public poll. I thought of only getting engaged with Elesh instead of marrying him so that I could get more time to decide. But as time passed, I started feeling that he was not the right person for me. He just wanted to marry me because he wanted be part of my glamorous life. Things got so bad that now I really hate him,” informs Rakhi.
Next pit stop – Parliament: Rakhi might have had done a lot of films but somehow she has failed in proving herself as a serious actress. “I have really worked hard for building my image in the industry and this I have done without having any godfather to promote me. Being a full time actress is not something I aspire to. You never know, one day people will see me in parliament. The benchmarks of success are different for me. I started as an item dancer and today I have turned a businesswoman by launching a beauty salon and by establishing a studio. I am happy with what I am doing,” says Rakhi.
