Review : Rough - Telugu Cinema Review – Outdated Mass Entertainer

Young hero Aadi, has become one of the most promising actors in recent times. After the success of Gaalipatam, he is now back with the action entertainer Rough. Directed by Subba Reddy, this film has hit the screens today. Let’s see how it is. Story: Chandhu (Aadi) is an orphan who falls for Nandhu (Rakul Preet Singh), a college student and decides to marry her. Later on, he comes to know that Nandhu is the only sister of a rich business man, Siddharth (Srihari). One fine day, Chandhu directly meets Siddharth and reveals his desire of marrying his sister. A shocked and upset Siddharth challenges Chandhu to make his sister fall in love with him. How does Chandu woo Nandu and wins her heart ? Will Nandhu accept Chandhu’s love forms the rest of the story. Plus Points: Aadi is improving with every film and gives a mature performance after Galipatam. He has worked very hard on his body and his chiseled avatar in the climax is impressive. He is also good with his dances and has displayed some superb moves in the film. Speaking of Rakul Preet Singh, she looks gorgeous and complements Aadi with her decent performance. The late Srihari, who played a crucial role gives a commanding performance as a loving brother. The performances of other cast like Raghubabu, Shiva Reddy and other comedians are decent. The confrontational scenes between Aadi and Srihari have come out well. Scenes during the interval episode are good, and Aadi’s stunts with his six pack abs are a highlight and will attract the mass audience. Minus Points: The major minus point of the film is the predictable story line. Most of the film is below par and hurried on to us. Too many comedians come and go in the film making the screenplay confusing. The entire first half has nothing except for a few comedy scenes which are quite routine. Second half has been stretched too far and only increases the run time. The love track between the lead pair is not established well and Rakul Preet’s fans will definitely be disappointed as there is not much eye candy. Technical Aspects: Cinematography of the film is good and especially the songs have been shot well. Mani Sharma’s music is decent but the background score is below average. The editor has done a poor job as he could have easily chopped off many extended scenes to reduce the run time. Director Subba Reddy has chosen a routine love story and completely failed in executing it. Screenplay of the film could have been much better and the dialogues are just about ok. Verdict: On the whole, ‘Rough’ is a below par mass entertainer which lacks an interesting story line. Aadi’s performance and a few emotional scenes here and there are the only saving grace in this film which is quite outdated and boring.

Entire Akkineni Family's 'Asthanapu' Sweety!!!

It is said that centuries ago, whenever the kings liked any women, they used to retain them for their ‘pleasure’ and ‘entertainment’. In this process, they used to employ them as dancers or other employees. Right now, something similar seems to be happening with Anushka and the Akkineni family.

It was in Mumbai when the young Naga Chaitanya came across Anushka during acting course workshop. They became ‘good’ friends and eventually, Chaitu introduced Anushka to Puri Jagannadh for ‘Super’. In no time, Anushka floored Sumanth and was seen in ‘Mahanandi’, the rest as they say is history.

Now, Anushka is arriving with ‘Panchakshari’ and the entire Akkineni male gang gathered for the audio release. Fondly known as ‘Sweety’, the entire clan starting from Nagarjuna to Chaitu, Sushant, Sumanth, Akhil were present and all wished her the very best of success. Those who were around were busy gossiping about all these events.

Comedian Brahmanandam makes heroes wait!

The cold war between the Telugu film producers and actors is reaching a new high. The producers council which met a couple of days ago has decided to impose heavy cuts in the remuneration of actors in a bid to prevent escalating production cost of the film.

In this regard, the producers are openly talking about how some actors are harassing producers and causing tremendous inconvenience not only to them, but also to the fellow actors. One of the producers told this correspondent that comedian Brahmanandam, these days, has turned a villain for the producers. “He has become so important for a film that many a time, shooting schedules had to be cancelled for his sake. There were several instances of Brahmanandam making young heroes to wait for hours just for a five minute shot,” he lamented.

The producers council is learnt to have decided to impose a 50 per cent cut in the remuneration of comedians, so that they would mend their ways and fall in line. They are also planning to encourage new talent, rather than depending on the old faces.

Hot Heroine's Bosom In Hero's Fist!!

This is the still from a Telugu comedy movie ‘Vara Prasad-Potti Prasad’ that is now hot favorite among internet circles. This still needs no explanation and it is not necessary to elucidate where the man Vijaya Sai is holding the lady Priya Ahuja (or Priyanka!!). This is an instance to show where Tollywood is heading. The stills are going bolder day by day. Satya Varanasi is the director and producer Harsha Reddy launched this film on Thursday.

Why Only Balakrishna Is Targeted For Email Jokes?

Whenever a new movie is about to hit the screen, the one man who gets featured into the posters and stills is yuvaratna Nandamuri Balakrishna. Incidentally, eight out of ten films tend to have him as the person with a very funny caption. He was not spared even for the international blockbuster ‘Avatar’.

So, why Balayya gets targeted all times? Well, the reasons are many and let us have a look. Top in the list is the Paruchuri brothers who pen some really unbelievable senseless dialogues for Balayya after Narasimha Naidu. Then there are those illogical scenes like the one in ‘Chennakesava Reddy’ which no one will forget.

With mindless movies like ‘Okka Magadu’ and others coming in, Balayya has been made a mockery and that is one reason why he is the most targeted. However, it must be said that it is only due to his presence that the netizens and SMS users have so much entertainment and many must thank him for that.

Big Heroes Bend Their Backs For Money!!!

There was a time when the big names of the Telugu circuit were known for their starry airs and their celebrity presence. However, recession has given a reality stroke to all of them and the picture has changed completely now, as per film nagar sources.

It is heard that the producers and directors are now taking the shots and all those big heroes whose pay checks are in crores are now being told to prove their money’s worth. It is heard that S S Rajamouli had insisted that Ramcharan Teja take up horse riding perfectly since the audience had to see something more different from him.

The same path is now said to be taken for many heroes and it is buzzed that they have to come out of their shell of romancing the heroines and beating the baddies to do stuff like their own stunts or something that appeals to the audience and also keeps up their larger than life image. Now we are talking about some true heroism and heroic acts folks…
