Trouble is brewing in the district unit of Praja Rajyam.
The party office near the Control Room in the city presented a desolate picture with none of the important leaders visiting it.
The party leaders also stayed away from the State-wide dharna organised by the party to protest against rising prices recently. The non-participation led to speculation about the next course of action by district leaders.
The party won two Assembly seats at Allagadda and Banaganapalli while it finished second at Aluru. Meanwhile, rumours rocked the town on Friday that Banaganapalli MLA Katasani Ramireddy was toying with the idea of joining the Congress.
Mr. Rami Reddy told reporters that there was no coordination between the MLAs and the party State-level leadership. He denied the reports that he was joining the Congress but admitted that he was under pressure from the party cadres and well-wishers to think of alternative strategies in the wake of aloofness of the party high command.
Meanwhile, Praja Rajayam senior leader Lagisetty Viswanatham was also believed to be moving closer to the Congress through MLA T.G. Venkatesh.
