Sallu, sari dress & hunks!

Entertainment was the power factor at Day-2 of HDIL India Couture Week 2009.
Sari, it's a dress!
Pallavi Jaikishen's collection titled 'Five Stories' was a showcase of the sari in its various avatars and a range of antique jewellery by the designer.
Inspired by the sari, Jaikishen created - Le Sari Dress (an evening gown with sari drapes), lehenga and dupattas styled like a sari, and introduced jewellery with vintage elements which were sourced from antique market hubs like Alfies and Garys in London and Clinyancourt in France. The designer had been collecting these jewellery pieces over decades.
Besides, the sensuous sari, there were salwar-kurtas, long jackets, and ghagras. Jaikishen played with gold hues and gold brocades to create opulent garments in shades like feminine pink, peach, antique silver, red, emerald green, and champagne.

The showstopper piece was an elaborate bridal sari in gold with a long trail that had fairy lights lining the end!

Bollywood takes centrestage
Being Human - The Salman Khan Foundation fashion show was a mega entertainer. Salman got all his actor friends from the industry to walk the ramp or attend his show. Bollywood bigwigs were in full attendance and they could not stop cheering as Salman, brothers Arbaaz and Sohail, Govinda, Ajay Devgan, Saif Ali Khan, Sanjay Dutt, Akshay Kumar, Amir Khan and Katrina Kaif took to the ramp. The menswear was designed by Salman Khan in collaboration with designer Kunal Rawal. Katrina Kaif wore a gown by Falguni and Shane Peacock hand painted by Salman. Almost all garments had Swarovski embellishments and there were accessories like bags and watches too.
Gavin Miguel, Babita Malkani, Falguni and Shane Peacock, Ashish Soni, Rohit Gandhi and Rahul Khanna were the other designers who worked with the actor to present their collection in the show. Designer Aki Narula was the stylist and most models maintained the Bollywood diva look with sleek hair and big sunglasses. Mother Salma and Helen joined Salman for the final bow while Akki and Kat maintained a safe distance...
Sallu's quotable quotes
Salman explains that he has priced his clothes at a nominal rate so that they are affordable as all proceeds will be directed towards the Salman Khan Foundation. While speaking to the media the rather 'straightforward' actor gave some quotable quotes:
Reporter: Why didn't Shah Rukh Khan walk the ramp? Haven't you settled your differences with SRK?
Salman: There are no differences! I don't enjoy such questions and want to know if you enjoy asking such questions. So, don't ask my whether there exists some animosity between me and another actor or when I am getting married!
Reporter: How was Katrina on the ramp?
Salman: Katrina was a model so walking on the ramp was not a problem. But when she started getting into movies, acting was a problem.
Reporter: Why were so many actors walking the ramp and there was just one actress?
Salman: Kyunki actors ko sambhalna easy hota hai aur actresses ko sambhalna easy nahin hota!
