Hot Katrina Kaif refuses Vijay’s film
All of Us that Gemini Films Circuit has bought the rights of the Hindi blockbuster ‘3 Idiots’ to remake in Tamil and Telugu. There were quite a few top names - including Vijay, Suriya, Madhavan, Jeeva and Dhanush - tossed to play the coveted 3 idiots’s roles. As of now Ilaya Thalapathi Vijay has been confirmed to play Aamir Khan’s character Rancho in the Tamil version.
For the interesting female lead role Piya played by Kareena, all the big actresses in south showed interest. But the makers went to Katrina Kaif and the Bollywood No. 1 declined the offer due to unavailability of dates.
According to Katrina’s media manager she is very busy for the rest of the year with films like the sequel to ‘Dostana’ and Zoya Akhtar’s next directorial venture with Hrithik Roshan and Farhan Akhtar.

Katrina :I am not hot and sexy
No doubt Katrina Kaif is one of the most happening actresses in Bollywood today. She is known for her glamour roles, and guys feel weak in the knees every time she puts on a hot avatar. But this very girl doesn’t believe she is sexy.
Katrina said that she doesn’t think she is hot and sexy. She thinks that the audience has certain opinion of each person, and that one should not disappoint them. She quoted the example of Vidya Balan, who is known for her ethnic roles, and yet people love her in that image. She added that everybody has a place and one should be comfortable with that.
Well, Katrina should also know that ‘being sexy’ is her strength and make use of it to the fullest!

Katrina makes Bhojpuri debut
Filmmaker Prakash Jha launched TV channel Morya last week with a lot of glitz and glamour. His Raajneeti actors, Arjun Rampal, Manoj Bajpai and Katrina Kaif, were present for the launch in Patna along with Bhojpuri stars Ravi Kishan and Manoj Tiwari. Jha requested Katrina to speak in Bhojpuri, the local language.
A source said, “Considering that Katrina speaks Hindi with difficulty, she had goose bumps when she was asked to speak in Bhojpuri. However, Jha gave her three tutors - Manoj Tiwari, Ravi Kishan and Manoj Bajpai - all of whom can speak the language with great ease. Katrina was willing to learn. However, they could manage to teach her only one line as it was difficult for her to understand.”
Confirming the incident, Manoj Tiwari said, “It was quite funny. Initially, Katrina was very excited about it, so the three of us (Ravi Kishan, Manoj Bajpai and him) coached her to address the crowd with ‘Ka haal ba Patna’. She diligently wrote it down on a piece of paper and mugged it.
However, instead of saying ‘haal ba’, she kept on repeating ‘halba’, which sounded like ‘halwa’. Bajpai and Ravi Kishan burst out laughing at this and kept pulling her leg. That’s when we explained to her the difference between halwa, a sweet and ‘haal ba’, meaning how are you. Although Katrina took time to learn the line, she repeated it quite confidently on the dais. The crowd went berserk on hearing her. In fact we were all impressed with Katrina’s determination and persistence.”

No more kisses for Katrina!
In all her films so far, Katrina Kaif has kissed only once, in Kabir Khan’s New York. She decided she wasn’t too comfortable doing it, and told a close friend that she had decided never do another kissing sequence again.
Katrina has now decided to make it official. She won’t do a kissing sequence, even if the producer-director uses the oldest trick to persuade her: the script demanded it.
Says a friend of the actress, “Katrina has said no to kissing scenes in all her films barring New York. And believe me, the directors are very keen to see her kiss her co-stars. Katrina cleverly keeps dodging all the so-called must-kiss scenes. She is a very conservative girl at heart. In fact, when reports claimed that she was going to wear a bikini in Dostana 2, a la Priyanka Chopra in the first Dostana, Katrina protested violently and made it clear to producer Karan Johar and director Tarun Mansukhani: no exposure, no kissing.”
Says Katrina, “I don’t deny I’ve done scenes in the past where I did things that I wasn’t comfortable with. But now I won’t. I just don’t feel comfortable doing kissing scenes, or for that matter, wearing a bikini on screen.”
In both, Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani and Raajneeti, there was apparently a request for a kiss with Ranbir Kapoor.
Katrina said a polite but firm no.
Says a source, “All the intimate scenes in Raajneeti are between Ranbir and his American girlfriend played by Sarah Thompson. They have lingering lovemaking and kissing shots. In the Indian portion of Ranbir’s story, there’s no intimacy with Katrina. She convinced the director that the character of the dignified politician would not go down well with the audience doing intimate scenes.”
Katrina is quite firm as she says, “It’s true. I’m not at all comfortable doing kissing scenes. Call me a prude or conservative. I just don’t feel kissing scenes jell well with our audiences. So no kissing scenes for me.”

At last Katrina Kaif longs for husband's home
Bollywood’s most eligible female is thinking of tying the knot, but not anytime soon.
According to the buzz, Katrina Kaif is certain that she would marry the man of her choice in 2012, which is just two years away, and move into his home.
Perhaps that is why the pretty stunner is not shelling out her hard earned money for a new home.
“I’ll get married and go to my husband’s home…Why put in so much money into a new home,” she is quoted as saying by a tabloid.
However, Katrina didn’t mention specifically whom she intends to marry.
Despite the rumours that she presently has no films in her kitty, Katrina is going to be busy throughout 2010 with films like Tarun Mansukhani’s ‘Dostana 2’, Imtiaz Ali’s ‘Rockstar’ and Farah Khan’s Tees Maar Khan.
Gossip mills have also been buzzing that she has split from her longtime beau Salman Khan. But in a recent TV show, when Salman was asked if he was dating Katrina, the actor gave a confident affirmative reply.
So, is Salman going to be Kat’s hubby?

Dissappiontment :Kats’ rain song is scrapped
The much talked about rain song starring Katrina Kaif and Akshay Kumar in De Dana Dan, has been scrapped from the film. The director of the film, Priyadarshan, took the decision at the last minute as he felt that the placement of the song is hampering the film’s length. Both Katrina Kaif and Akshay are said to be disappointed with this development.
A source said, “The song was being compared to the chartbuster, Tip Tip Barsa Paani, from Mohra. The song appears right before the climax of the film and the director felt that the song didn’t fit in. Akshay was disappointed and so was Katrina. Kats even requested Priyadarshan to keep the song as it was her first rain song in B’wood. However, Priyan assured her that if the film fares well, he will incorporate the song later.”

"This isn’t a typical romantic film featuring me and Katrina. We don’t sing and walk into the sunset. I’m crazy about Katrina in De Dana Dan. But I don’t have the money to impress and win her. In real life I’d never take to crime to win a girl. In this film I do. But it’s a goofy crime.”
After De Dana Dan, Akshay has almost completed another film Khatta Meetha with Priyadarshan co-starring a new girl Trisha. Is Trisha going to be the new hit jodi-maker with Akshay after Priyanka Chopra and Katrina Kaif? Laughs Akshay, “I hope she’s a hit. Like Katrina, Trishna knew no Hindi when she started working with us. But Katrina had the drive and willpower. I can see the same qualities in Trisha. I think she’s managing the Hindi pretty well. Waqt sab kuch sikha dekha deta hai.”
Akshay is back doing what audiences like seeing him do the most. Chuckles Akshay, “People want to know if De Dana Dan is Hera Pheri Part 3. They don’t know there’s no Hera Pheri 3. We’re moving on to Part 4. The only thing that is common between De Dena Dan and the Hera Pheri series is the fact that Paresh Rawal, Suniel Shetty and I are together and it’s directed by the genius director Priyadarshan”
That brings us to the fact that people seem to not appreciate Akshay in non-comic, unconventional roles. “That is not true,” he refutes. “At one time I was typecast as an action hero. I tried very hard to be a comic hero in Mr & Mrs Khiladi. It didn’t click. But I didn’t give up my attempts to be accepted in comic roles. I’ve done out-and-out comic roles successfully and romantic films too. I’m now doing a rom-com Action Replay with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. But at the same time I won’t give up doing uncoventional films. I gave my best shot to Tasveer, which was different. So what if it didn’t work?”
Akshay openly calls Priyadarshan a genius. “There’s no one like him. He’s the speediest director in the business. What a strong team he has. His cinematographer sets up shots in minutes. Priyan is a dream director. I trust him completely on what to do in front of the camera.”

Dad, get me Kat: Shahid
Pankaj Kapur is on a nationwide hunt for the female lead to be cast opposite Shahid Kapoor in his directorial debut Mausam. But his son has other ideas. Apparently, Shahid is keen on casting Katrina Kaif in the lead.
A source reveals, “After working with A-list actresses such as Kareena Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra and Vidya Balan, Katrina Kaif is the next actress on Shahid's wishlist. He thinks Katrina is extremely talented and would love to work with her in a film. His father's movie is a love story and Shasha (Shahid) finds Katrina apt for the role.”
Pankaj Kapoor, however, is not terribly keen on Shahid's recommendation. The source continues, “He has spoken to his dad Pankaj recommending Katrina for the film. But, Pankaj is keen to cast a young fresh face for the film. A nationwide hunt is on for the film.”
The debutant director takes a cautious line. Pankaj Kapoor says, “I am still in the scripting process. My daughter is looking into the casting. Katrina carries 15 lakh!
Exactly Rs 15 lakh! This is the amount reached by the actress herself. And which she apparently carried, in cash, onto Prakash Jha’s sets of Rajniti recently when she thought she might have to compensate the filmmaker for wasting one day’s shooting.
The story goes that Katz, the only female character in Jha’s heavyduty set-up headed by Nana Patekar, Ajay Devgn, Manoj Bajpayee, Randhir Kapoor and Arjun Rampal, is atrocious in her delivery of Hindi dialogue. And in Rajniti, which she is very excited about, the actress is the focal point of the script and has a lot of lines. But Katz has been taking her Hindi dialogue delivery lessons seriously and is hellbent on getting the accent and pronunciation right.
Now comes the twist. On one particular day during her recent stint in Bhopal, Katz found herself staring at sheets of lengthy dialogues and realised she would need an extra day to prepare if she was to get it right. So, she went up to Jha and told him about her predicament. And even before the filmmaker, who’s had enough grief with this film, could bat an eyelid, the professional girl volunteered to compensate him for her’s day’s shooting expenses.
Jha confirmed the story. “It was a truly professional gesture and I’m very touched,’’ he said. Of course, he didn’t take the money and gave his actress the one extra day she needed. Only to be rewarded on day two. Unit hands say that Katrina had taken it as a challenge and knew every dialogue pat. She surprised everyone present on the set with her spoken lines. And so, continues to be the flavour of the season.

Katrina is fun-loving and passionate: Ranbir Kapoor
While promoting their upcoming film Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani in Delhi, the duo hardly spared each other the compliments. Ranbir was particularly very generous in his praise for Katrina.
“There is an amazing positive energy about her. She is hardworking and everything she does is for the betterment of the movie. She is fun loving, passionate about cinema and passionate about her work. I share a great rapport with her,” Ranbir is quoted to have said in an interview.
The 28-year-old actor went on to add that he feels inspired by Katrina’s drive to succeed and the struggle she’s undergone to make her place in Bollywood.“The drive that Katrina has is inspiring. She is there and she just doesn't stop. She has come a long way from where she started and where she is today…She is India's biggest actress and there is a lot of hard work, sacrifice and passion she has put behind that and I totally respect that,” Ranbir said.
Speaking about his chemistry with Katrina, Ranbir said the chemistry depended on how their characters were fleshed out in the script.
“As far as chemistry is concerned, I always believe that chemistry never happens between two actors, it happens between two characters in the movie. It depends how the characters are written in the script and the moments and the scenes between them. That's when chemistry happens,” Ranbir revealed.
Displaying insouciance towards rumours regarding him and Katrina, Ranbir said that people are talking about them because they are a new and fresh onscreen pair. He was quick to add that only the film’s run at the box office would determine whether his chemistry with Kat is a success or not.
The movie releases on November 6.

Katrina adds salt to Salman-Aishwarya Wound
The news of Katrina Kaif bluntly refusing to wish Aishwarya Bachchan on her birthday has created ripples amongst the public. Some are of the opinion that she should have wished her instead of living in the past and cut open the old wounds.
In response to our previous report “Katrina Kaif refuses to wish Salman's ex girlfriend”, “No harm in wishing like what Ranbir did...he is a matured chap unlike you. Katz, well u should be thankful to Ash for having moved on with Abhi. At least you got a teddy bear salman in ur life.”
Another reader wrote, “Why should anyone forget. If you love someone and think that some one you love was betrayed. Do you go and have fun with him/her. Think about it.”
Yes, her boyfriend Salman Khan has been avoiding Aishwarya ever since they broke up but it's passe now, as Ash is happily married to Abhishek Bachchan and Salman is happy in her company. After all she has no issue with Ash. So, she should have tried to heal the wound instead of adding salt to it.

Kaif didn't like Sallu's dress
Here’s one man who knows how to win the hearts of women, be it by taking off his shirt or by going the extra mile to make them feel special! And this time, when Salman Khan came to the city, he held a screening of his forthcoming movie, Main Aurr Mrs Khanna, exclusively for women.
“I respect women and the screening was a different experience altogether. It was a lot of fun,” he said. Watching the movie along with him were Sohail Khan, Sajid-Wajid, Sanjana Jon and Prem Soni, the director of the flick.
And it’s not just the women who are on his side, he has the support of his friends too. Buddies Aamir Khan, Ajay Devgn, Sanjay Dutt, Govinda and Saif Ali Khan and brother Arbaaz Khan walked the ramp for his charity fashion show at HDIL India Couture Week 2009. “It was an amazing experience and I am so grateful that my friends made it a success,” he said. But, while all walked back home happy, Katrina Kaif wasn’t too happy. She sported an outfit that had a painting of Salman’s on it. “Honestly, she didn’t appreciate it much. Nevertheless, she enjoyed being a part of the show.” So does he plan to continue painting? “I don’t plan anything. I love painting and that’s why I do it,” he said.
And that’s not all – he likes to bond with the common man too and it was Dus Ka Dum, the reality show that he hosted, that gave him a chance to interact with his fans. “It was an instant connect with people. They gave me a chance to be honest and I let them talk about their lives,” he said. And while the show ended on Diwali, Salman says, “I liked being on the small screen and hope to be back soon. I know people want to see me again.” From TV to cricket, is an IPL team on the cards? “Nahin, abhi kuch nahin hua hain. Dekhte hain,” he said.
