Though the persistent belligerence of Congress MP Jaganmohan Reddy has often embarrassed the Congress high command since his father and former chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy’s death last year, not much is known about his personal wealth.
His individual advance tax collection showcases more than what meets the eye. In the first six months of the current financial year, he has already paid Rs 84 crore as advance tax, anticipating his annual income to be in the vicinity of Rs 500 crore or much more. His earnings can put to shame corporate biggies like the Tatas, Birlas or Ambanis.
It is a significant jump, considering Jagan Mohan had paid a paltry Rs 2.92 lakh tax for the financial year 2008-09, and Rs 6.72 crore for 2009-10. His growth in the half-yearly tax outgo has been more than 1,100% as compared to what he had paid for the same period in 2009.
The names of mining czars figure prominently among other significant contributors to the exchequer. Karnataka tourism minister Janardhan Reddy’s wife Gali Lakshmi Aruna, Kamaljeet Singh Ahluwalia, who has varied interests in Rourkela and Barbil belt in Orissa, and Ramamurthy Praveen Chandra are among the top taxpayers. They have all contributed between Rs 7 crore and Rs 20 crore individually till September.
Telecom official-turned-entrepreneur Asim Ghosh, who has paid Rs 20.78 crore, is close to Ramamurthy (Rs 20 crore) during the same period. Though Ahluwalia has also paid Rs 20 crore, his tax outgo for the six months shows a growth of 67% as compared to Ramamurthy (100%) and Ghosh(518%), who had paid Rs 3.36 for the same period last year. His annual contribution in 2009-10 was Rs 74 crore.
Others with mining interests have made hefty contributions as well. Indrani Patnaik has paid Rs 15 crore till September. Prashant Ahluwalia, brother of Kamaljeet, has paid Rs 10 crore; Radha Satish Timblo (Rs 9 crore); Anand Kumar (Rs 7.5 crore) and Kumarmanglam Birla (Rs 5.8 crore).

Y.S.Jagan Looks Glamorous With Spectacles
After taking rest for three days on account of his eye-infection and joint pains, Kadapa MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy hit the road again with his Odarpu Yatra in Prakasam district on Sunday.
And the people observed a refreshing change in the young leader. He was looking more glamorous and attractive than he was earlier; and the reason was: he is wearing spectacles on the advice of doctors, so that the pollen from flowers would not cause allergy in his eyes. In one angle, he looked exactly like his father; though he did not wear khaddar dress. In any way, his voice has all the mannerisms of his father.
Some journalist commented that Jagan was looking like Rana in the Sekhar Kammula film “Leader,” though the little beard Rana had in the film is missing in Jagan. If he sports that little beard (no, not like Rahul Gandhi), Jagan would look more glamorous, the journo commented.

YSR Loyalist to Skip Jagan’s Yatra in Pulivendula

Minister for minority welfare Md Ahmadulla, who is known to be a staunch follower of late Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, has decided to abstain from the Odarpu Yatra of Kadapa MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy in Pulivendula constituency in Kadapa district to be launched on Monday.Ahmadulla, who owes his political growth in Kadapa district to YSR, was till recently a vociferous supporter of Jagan-as-Chief Minister campaign. At one stage, he had even threatened to resign if Jagan was not made the chief minister. During Jagan’s yatra in East Godavari district, too, Ahmedulla went there and extended solidarity with the young MP.
However, things changed in the last two weeks and the high command told the party leaders in the state clearly not to participate in the Jagan’s yatra. With this, Ahmedulla decided to stay away from the yatra.
Several other Congress MLAs in the district are also in a state of confusion due to lack of clear direction from the high command. At least five party MLAs in the district -- Adinarayana Reddy (Jammalamadugu), Srikant Reddy (Rayachoti), Amarnath Reddy (Rajampet), Srinivasulu (Railway Kodur) and Kamalamma ((Badvel) will take part in the yatra, while Kalamapuram MLA G Veerasiva Reddy and Mydukur MLA D L Ravindra Reddy who are opposed to Jagan will stay away. Of course, Pulivendula MLA and Jagan’s mother Y Vijayamma will be part of the yatra.
Arrangements for the yatra are being supervised by district Congress committee president K Suresh Babu and others. It is learnt that a Central intelligence team has reached Pulivendula to report on the yatra.

PCC spokesman and Kadapa leader T Tulasi Reddy said there was no biggest beneficiary than YSR and his family from the Congress party. “YSR was the chief minister twice. His son Jaganmohan Reddy is an MP; wife Vijayalakshmi is an MLA; brother Y S Vivekananda Reddy is an MLC; brother-in-law Ravindranath Reddy is Kadapa mayor. There are many other YSR relatives, who are in key posts like deputy mayor, cabinet minister and other government posts. Is it not because of the Congress party?” he asked.

TDP and Cong Reddy MLAs from Kurnool to join Jagan
After Praja Rajya Party strongman Bhuma Nagi Reddy, it is now the turn of Telugu Desam Party and Congress leaders from Kurnool to express their solidarity with Kadapa MP Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, who is on an Odarpu Yatra in East Godavari district.
Bhuma, along with Pattikonda constituency Congress in-charge S V Mohan Reddy and Kurnool market yard chairman Venkateshwar Reddy already met Jagan in the yatra. Now, the latest information is that Mantralayam TDP MLA Balanagi Reddy is planning to meet Jagan in a day or two. So is Alur Congress MLA Patil Niraja Reddy.
Reports from Kurnool say that all the three parties -- Congress, TDP as well as PRP will heavily suffer in the district, if Jagan floats a new party. However, if Jagan compromises with the high command, there will be trouble for some Congress leaders who are opposed to him, sources say.

Defiant Jagan to resume Odarpu yatra
A defiant Y S Jaganmohan left for Srikakulam on Wednesday evening to resume his 'Odarpu yatra' from Thursday, coinciding with his father YSR's birth anniversary, even as Chief Minister K Rosaiah asked his Cabinet colleagues and party legislators not to join him.
Rosaiah rushed to Delhi and met Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee and said that there was no threat to his government following the yatra.
Congress also sought to downplay Jagan's move saying it was not worried about such an issue.
"There are far greater issues to deal with, like the Jammu and Kashmir situation and the economy. This is not an issue on which we are worried about. This is an issue of one MP," party spokesperson Jayanthi Natarajan told reporters in Delhi.
Asked whether Jaganmohan had defied the party directive by undertaking the yatra, Natarajan said, "I am sure the MP knows what the party line is".
She said the AICC in-charge of Andhra Pradesh M Veerappa Moily (who is currently abroad) will look into the issue at the state level.
Jagan boarded the Falaknuma Express at 4 pm at the Secunderabad railway station as scores of his cheering followers saw him off. None of the Congress MLAs, considered close to the rebellious MP, came to the railway station to see Jagan off following his "instructions".
Earlier, Rosaiah made it clear that his Cabinet colleagues and party legislators should not join the tour as the Congress high command has not given a nod to it.
"Whether or not to take part in the yatra is an individual choice but if any minister, MLA or MLC indeed takes part in the yatra, it will be a clear violation of the high command," Rosaiah told reporters in Hyderabad.
He said some of his Cabinet colleagues, MLAs and MLCs had approached him seeking his counsel on their participation in the yatra. "I told them clearly that they should not participate in the yatra as it did not have the Congress high command's approval...If anyone violates this and takes part in the yatra, the party will deal with them appropriately."
However, D Sudheer Reddy, B Raji Reddy and K Srisailam Goud, all legislators from Hyderabad, and a few others from Jagan's native Kadapa district, met him at his residence here.
Talking to reporters, they said Jagan's yatra would not amount to defying the high command as it was his personal tour to console the families of those who died following the death of his father Y S Rajasekhara Reddy last year.
The high command did not ask Jagan to abandon his plan to resume the tour, which was stopped following violent protests by pro-Telangana activists in May, they claimed.
Congress leader A Rambabu, considered close to Jagan, said the Kadapa MP would go ahead with his yatra as announced.
Jagan would reach Ichapuram in Srikakulam district tomorrow to restart his journey. Notwithstanding party chief Sonia Gandhi's reservations, Jagan had on Monday announced his decision to resume his controversial yatra from July 8.
However, Congress yesterday asked the young MP not to go ahead with his plan and threatened him with disciplinary action if he disobeyed.

YSR Jayanthi – High Command’s Crooked Politics
The crooked Congress High Command (eg. Sonia Gandhi), poisonous Rosayya (his surname is Neethileni and his middle name is Pasuvu) and the losers VH, KK, Kaka, RC, and Yashki etc are at it again to enrage us the YSR followers and Congress supporters. This time they want to make the first YSR Jayanthi celebrations as hard as possible for the state of Andhra Pradesh to celebrate. This they want to do it by having the Assembly in session at the same time (July 8th). This would make it harder for the MLAs and Ministers to actively participate in celebrating the day in their areas in a grand fashion. This is pure sadism by the powers they are. And this evil thought will be met with a massive response and the crooks would be taught a fitting lesson. I am very confused as to why these crooks want so desperately to be chappaled in the village centers across the state. That day is fast approaching and looks like they are eager for it.
First they denied YS Jagan, who enjoyed the majority in state Assembly to be the Chief Minister, even though it was YSR (and only YSR) that was responsible for Congress party getting back to power in the state in both 2004 and 2009. Secondly, the High Command prompted the losers VH, KK, Kaka, Harsha, RC, Yashki, RDR, JC, Jana, Sankar Rao etc. to talk ill of YSR in an attempt to tarnish his legacy. Thirdly, they have been trying their best to stop a peaceful and democratic Odarpu yaatra of YS Jagan to meet the families of the shock death victims of YSR’s accident. Now they want to do this to the memory of YSR too? Khabaddaar Sonia Italian Gandhi, Rosayya the poisonous snake and the worthless losers VH, KK, Kaka, RC, and Yashki. They are all enjoying the power that was guaranteed and granted by the great man YSR. They would not have power at the centre and state but for YSR. A beggar has more moral values than these crack-heads. They will all repent their immoral ways in the near future.
Legions of YSR followers all across Andhra Pradesh, India and the world will celebrate his jayanthi this year and every year with utmost love, affection and respect for the man they all believe belongs to them. Who cares what these crooks feel about him? They cannot erase him from the imagination of the countless followers. He is etched deep in their hearts and souls. They all believe he was the one that made Congress party what it is today and not the other way around.
Jagan must overthrow this government if they follow suit of having Assembly in session on July 8th. They have already done enough damage to YSR and his legacy. Enough is enough. People of Andhra Pradesh will be overjoyed and celebrate that day like another Diwali.

No reason for leaving Cong: YS Jaganmohan Reddy
Congress MP YS Jaganmohan Reddy, who was recently detained for his controversial ‘yatra’ (rally), said he will not leave the party but is ready to quit from his Lok Sabha post.
“There is no reason why I should leave my party (Congress). If I had to leave, I would have done that immediately after my father (late Andhra Pradesh chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy) died; at that time I also had sympathy of 135 MLAs,” Reddy told reporters on Monday here.
Reddy, who is in the Capital to meet Congress top brass over the ‘yatra’ controversy, said: “I respect madam (party supremo Sonia Gandhi) a lot, and have full faith in her. My intensions are clear, my mind is guilt-free, I have not done anything wrong.
“I am here (Delhi) to request the Congress to allow me continue my Odarpu Yatra. I will explain my stand behind this apolitical rally. The ‘yatra’ cannot be stopped…it’s my moral responsibility and duty to carry on with it. ”
Asked if there are chances that Congress will take action against him over this issue, Reddy said: “I don't think the party will take action against me. Why should they? I have done no wrong.”
On May 28, Reddy was taken into preventive custody by the Andhra Pradesh police, apprehending violent clashes after he refused to call off his controversial yatra (rally).
Reddy was arrested from a train at Vangapalli in Nalgonda district while he was on way to Warangal to console the family members of those who died of shock or committed suicide after his father’s death in a helicopter crash last year.
Reddy was on a yatra to meet the bereaved family members and even after his arrest, he has reportedly stated of resuming his travel at a later date.
His yatra was seen as a move to give air to the anti-Telangana lobby, of which Reddy and his late father were supporters.
Like the late chief minister, the younger Reddy is also against the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh and he had, along with MPs from Rayalaseema and Andhra regions, voiced their opposition to formation of Telangana state in the Parliament.
The yatra could have fuelled clashes between Reddy’s supports and pro-Telangana activists.
The Joint Action Committee (JAC), Telangana Rashtra Samiti, other pro-Telangana groups, Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had announced their plans to stall the yatra.
Some Congress leaders were also against Reddy’s yatra and had even reportedly got Congress chief Sonia Gandhi to ask Reddy to stop his rally.
But Reddy had decided to go ahead with the yatra, which he has now stated of resuming at a later time.
He has maintained that the yatra was not a political statement, and his detractors were trying to defame him.

Telangana crisis: YS Jagan for united Andhra
There was high drama in parliament on Tuesday after Congress MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy made common cause with his bitter rivals, the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), to press for a united Andhra Pradesh, even as he said he stood for a "Golden Telangana" - without specifying what he meant by this.
The division in the Congress ranks was more than evident as party MPs clashed in the Lok Sabha over the Telangana issue, forcing the adjournment of the house for 10 minutes.
Telangana figured in the Rajya Sabha too, with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) accusing the government of "playing with the sensitivities of people" on the issue and reiterating its demand for a roadmap on the creation of the separate state.
On his part, Jaganmohan, son of the late Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, shook hands with the TDP MPs, took a placard from them and waved it near Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar's podium to establish the point that "we want a united Andhra Pradesh".
Outside parliament, however, he told reporters that he stood for a "Golden Telangana".
Pressed to explain what exactly he meant by this, Jaganmohan Reddy resorted to semantics.
"What I want is to work towards a 'Golden Telangana'. I want everybody (in Andhra Pradesh) to be together as brothers and sisters. They are all my brothers and sisters. I do not want to lose any of my Telangana brothers and sisters," he said, adding that he wanted all the people of Andhra Pradesh to live as "one family".
The Kadappa MP said he did so as he felt that if he did not join hands with TDP MPs, they alone would become "champions" of the united Andhra Pradesh movement that strengthened in the state after last week's announcement of Home Minister P Chidambaram that a separate Telangana state would be formed.
The Telangana issue surfaced in the Lok Sabha as zero hour began, with TDP MPs storming the speaker's podium to vociferously protest creation of a separate state. They were soon joined by several Congress MPs from Andhra Pradesh, including Jaganmohan Reddy, who was seen waving a placard reading "We want united AP".
When some Congress MPs from Andhra region, led by K.S. Rao, tried to raise their voices and rushed towards the podium, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pawan Kumar Bansal tried to pacify them and asked them to return to their seats.
Some MPs from Telangana led by M. Jagannath also raised their voices, leading to an angry verbal exchange between Congress MPs who found themselves on opposing sides of the Telangana issue.
The ruckus forced the speaker to adjourn the house at 12.20 p.m. for 10 minutes.
Jaganmohan also downplayed the complaint against him by Congress MPs from Telangana, and said all of them are brothers and "tomorrow we will patch up."
Earlier in the day, Congress MPs from Telangana region sought action against Jaganmohan for colluding in the Lok Sabha with TDP MPs who opposed a separate state.
Raising the Telangana issue during zero hour in the Rajya Sabha, BJP member M. Venkaiah Naidu said: "What is happening in Andhra Pradesh is a matter of anguish. The government of India has complicated the issue. The state is in turmoil, students are on strike. More than 130 MLAs seem to have resigned. The assembly was not able to function and was adjourned sine die."
"The government is playing with the sensitivities of the people. The government of India has behaved in a most irresponsible and immature manner. This is not the way to deal with the situation. I want the government to come out with a roadmap (on the Telangana issue)," he added.
Naidu, who belongs to Andhra Pradesh but represents Karnataka in the Rajya Sabha, made a similar demand last week.
The division in the Congress ranks was more than evident as party MPs clashed in the Lok Sabha over the Telangana issue, forcing the adjournment of the house for 10 minutes.
Telangana figured in the Rajya Sabha too, with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) accusing the government of "playing with the sensitivities of people" on the issue and reiterating its demand for a roadmap on the creation of the separate state.
On his part, Jaganmohan, son of the late Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, shook hands with the TDP MPs, took a placard from them and waved it near Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar's podium to establish the point that "we want a united Andhra Pradesh".
Outside parliament, however, he told reporters that he stood for a "Golden Telangana".
Pressed to explain what exactly he meant by this, Jaganmohan Reddy resorted to semantics.
"What I want is to work towards a 'Golden Telangana'. I want everybody (in Andhra Pradesh) to be together as brothers and sisters. They are all my brothers and sisters. I do not want to lose any of my Telangana brothers and sisters," he said, adding that he wanted all the people of Andhra Pradesh to live as "one family".
The Kadappa MP said he did so as he felt that if he did not join hands with TDP MPs, they alone would become "champions" of the united Andhra Pradesh movement that strengthened in the state after last week's announcement of Home Minister P Chidambaram that a separate Telangana state would be formed.
The Telangana issue surfaced in the Lok Sabha as zero hour began, with TDP MPs storming the speaker's podium to vociferously protest creation of a separate state. They were soon joined by several Congress MPs from Andhra Pradesh, including Jaganmohan Reddy, who was seen waving a placard reading "We want united AP".
When some Congress MPs from Andhra region, led by K.S. Rao, tried to raise their voices and rushed towards the podium, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pawan Kumar Bansal tried to pacify them and asked them to return to their seats.
Some MPs from Telangana led by M. Jagannath also raised their voices, leading to an angry verbal exchange between Congress MPs who found themselves on opposing sides of the Telangana issue.
The ruckus forced the speaker to adjourn the house at 12.20 p.m. for 10 minutes.
Jaganmohan also downplayed the complaint against him by Congress MPs from Telangana, and said all of them are brothers and "tomorrow we will patch up."
Earlier in the day, Congress MPs from Telangana region sought action against Jaganmohan for colluding in the Lok Sabha with TDP MPs who opposed a separate state.

Lok Satta scuttles YSR wife chances!
The chances of Y S Vijayalakshmi, widow of late Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, getting elected Pulivendula MLA unanimously were scuttled on Tuesday, when Lok Satta announced that it would field a candidate in the by-elections.
It was rather surprising as the Lok Satta, which could not win even a single corporator seat in the recent Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation elections, thinks it can put up a fight in Pulivendula by-elections. Interestingly, the main opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP), Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Praja Rajyam Party, Communist Party of India-Marxist(CPI-M) have already announced that they would not contest the byelections to facilitate the unanimous election of Vijayalakshmi. And they also know that even if they contest, they cannot win the elections.
If Lok Satta is not confident of winning the elections, why should it force an election on the people, wasting so much public money on arrangements and polling? But LSP president Jayaprakash Narayan says his party will contest the byelections only to discourage family rule. Strange argument!

Jagan picks up argument with Rosaiah
Finally, Chief Minister K Rosaiah and Kadapa MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy saw eye to eye at the MPs’ meeting in Jubilee Hall and sparks flew between them, as expected.
Even as Rosaiah was asking the MPs to highlight the issues confronting the state in Lok Sabha during the forthcoming winter session, Jaganmohan Reddy raised an accusing finger at the Chief Minister, stating that the government was not implementing the promises made by his late father Y S Rajasekhara Reddy. “The nine-hour power supply is not being implemented. So is the case with increased quota of Rs 2 a kg rice. The schemes of my father are getting diluted. If the government does not have funds, it can withdraw the order issued allowing 20 per cent sale of power by the power generation companies. It will fetch adequate funds,” he said.
Rosaiah, without losing his cool, reminded that the order was issued by the YSR government itself. He said there was no question of dilution of any of YSR’s promises and that all of them would be implemented in letter and spirit, after reassessing the financial position.

Y.S.Jagan to CM: Fulfil YSR promises
The Kadapa MP, Mr Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, on Tuesday gave some embarrassing moments to the Chief Minister, Mr K. Rosaiah, by raising the issue of implementing promises made by his father, Dr Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy, during the MPs’ meeting held here.
He reminded the Chief Minister of YSR’s promise to increase power supply to the farm sector to nine hours and the rice quota to 6 kg and said that the credibility of the government would be at stake if the promises were not implemented.
Mr Jagan also opposed the decision to allow four Independent Power Producers (IPPs) including GVK, Vemagiri, Gautami and Konaseema, to sell 20 per cent power in the open market, and asked Mr Rosaiah to reconsider it and utilise that power to enhance supply to farmers.
The Chief Minister was not amused by this and told the MP that the decision to sell the power was taken in 2008 by YSR and he had only signed the agreement.
To this, Mr Jagan said the delay in implementing the decision clearly indicated that YSR had a rethink on the issue.
At this juncture, the minister, Mr Botsa Satyanarayana, interfered and tried to explain what Mr Jagan meant, but Mr Rosaiah cut him short and said, “I know what he meant.”
The Polavaram issue too led to some heated exchanges between Mr K.S. Rao and Mr Madhu Yakshi. The Rajahmundry MP, Mr Vundavilli Arun Kumar, also sought a clarification on the Chief Minister’s stance on Polavaram. He asked Mr Rosaiah to activate the administration and suggested that the Chief Minister follow the footsteps of YSR and go to the public.
However, the Chief Minister did not take it lightly said that he was neither YSR’s age nor has his stamina.
Mr Rosaiah then said there was no reversal of the stand taken by YSR. The Chief Minister, who held a marathon session with MPs from 5 pm to 10 pm, also indicated that the number of drought hit mandals would be increased from 981. He asked MPs to lobby for more aid from the Centre and secure clearances of all pending projects.

Y.S.Jagan in dilemma over campaign
To canvas or not in the upcoming GHMC polls. This is the big question that is weighing down Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Kadapa MP, at the moment.
According to inner circles, Mr Reddy is yet to decide on the issue and has been discussing it with his mentor Dr K.V.P. Ramachandra Rao.
When newsmen asked Mr Verappa Moily, incharge of Congress affairs in AP, about a formal invite to Mr Reddy to campaign, he evaded a straight answer and said it is the responsibility of every MP to campaign. Similarly, neither the Chief Minister, Mr Rosaiah, nor the PCC chief, Mr D. Srinivas, has so far asked Mr Reddy to campaign.
Mr Reddy’s camp, however, is considering the pros and cons of getting involved in the campaign. If he doesn’t campaign and the Congress wins in the polls, party
leaders will say he is no more interested in taking up his father’s agenda of serving the party. They will also claim that the party can win elections without him. This will damage the prospects of Mr Reddy, the camp felt.
In the worst case, if the Congress fares badly, Mr Reddy will be blamed for not campaigning and for preventing a Praja Rajyam-Congress tie-up.
In case he decides to campaign, credit for the victory will not go to Mr Reddy. Three out of seven Congress MLAs from the city Marri Sasidhara Reddy (Sanatnagar), Dr P. Shanker Rao (Secunderabad Cantonment) and Mr P. Vishnu Vardhana Reddy (Jubilee Hills) have decided not to invite Mr Reddy, it is not clear how other MLAs will react.

Cong MP : Y.S.Jagan has 150 MLAs support
As the war of words goes on about the leadership issue in Congress, Anakapalli MP Sabbam Hari said nearly 150 party MLAs are with Jaganmohan Reddy. “The high command is very much aware of this fact,” he said.
He said some seniors in the party and a section of the media were creating confusion among the cadre. He said the MLAs and ministers have high regard for chief minister Rosaiah. “But they are very much clear on the leadership as they want Jagan to be made the CM,” he asserted.
He said political stalemate continues to prevail in the state after the demise of Y S Rajasekhara Reddy. He hoped the high command would take a proper decision and anoint Jagan as CM.

Jagan says ready to take up mantle
Breaking his silence, Mr Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, son of the late Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy, on Friday gave enough hints that he was ready to take up the political mantle to fulfil his father’s dreams.
“I find YSR in everyone’s smile,” Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy said in an emotional speech in a meeting at Nallakaluva, about 30 km from Atmakur in Kurnool district, after visiting the site where his father perished in a chopper crash.
“I see him in everyone. I will be part of your family and let us together fulfil the dreams of YSR.” Contrary to speculation that he would offer a silent floral tribute at the crash site at Pavuralagutta, Mr Jagan poured his heart out and promised to visit the kin of all the 660 people who died of shock or committed suicide following the death of YSR.
Mr Reddy flew down to Pavuralagutta on Friday morning and later participated in an all-faith prayer meeting at Nallakaluva. His supporters raised slogans in his favour and a Muslim cleric prayed to God to make him the Chief Minister. “YSR is no more, but he left behind his heart and soul,” he said amid applause. “After his death, lakhs of people have consoled me and my family members, saying we are with you.”
Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy’s statements thrilled his supporters but might add to the unrest in the Rosaiah government which is trying to settle down and focus on governance. His promise to visit houses of kin of the 660 dead people will also put pressure on the government to announce ex gratia for them.

Sonia keeps Jagan waiting
Mr Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Kadapa MP and son of the late YSR, has sought an audience with the Congress chief, Mrs Sonia Gandhi, who is yet to respond to the move by a section of party leaders to make him the Chief Minister.
He is expected to meet her sometime in the weekend after a public meeting at Nalla Kalva near Atmakur in Kurnool district on Friday afternoon. Sources, however, said Mr Jagan Mohan is unlikely to speak at the public gathering.
Though Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy wants to meet Mrs Gandhi to thank her for coming to Hyderabad to pay homage to YSR, his camp is keenly hoping that some message would be given to him by the high command.
YSR’s son is also planning to meet the Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh, besides Mr Ahmed Patel, Mr Pranab Mukherjee and other senior party central leaders.
The Jagan camp is now expecting a decision to come from the high command only by the end of October, when the three state Assembly elections would get over. But they want to keep the succession issue alive till then.
On Friday, Mr Jagan Mohan will travel to Nalla Kalva in Nallamalai forest area where a meeting and all-religion prayers have been arranged to pay homage to YSR.

YSR pilot knew of bad weather
A US probe has found that the pilot and co-pilot of the helicopter that crashed on September 2 killing Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy and two others knew they were flying in dangerously bad weather, an official said here Wednesday.
“The US FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) investigated the conversation between the pilot and co-pilot minutes before the chopper crashed. They also spoke of bad weather,” said a senior official of the civil aviation ministry. The Indian government had sent cockpit voice recorder and some samples of the wreckage of the twin-engine Bell-430 copter to the US for investigation.
This is the first confirmation that the pilots knew they were flying into rough weather. It has been reported earlier that the atmospheric conditions on the helicopter’s route from Hyderabad to Kadapa was bad. Investigators are probing if the pilots knew of the conditions. The Pawan Hans Corpo-ration chairman R.K. Tyagi, who heads a five-member high-powered committee of Directorate General of Civil Aviation probing the crash, said it would come out with its findings in three-four days.
Mr Sanjay Brahmin, one of the members of the DGCA team, said it had not been provided with details of the pilots’ conversation. The CBI deputy inspector-general of police, Mr V.V. Lakshminarayana, said, “We had asked the DGCA for the transcript of Cockpit Voice Recorder on September 22. We are yet to receive a copy.”

The senior Congress MP from Guntur, Mr Rayapati Sambasiva Rao, said on Thursday that the Prime Minister had told him that Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy was suitable for the Chief Minister’s post and that the high command would take up the issue soon and decide in his favour.
Mr Rayapati said Dr Singh had told him that Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy was likely to be made the Chief Minister by the end of this month. The MP met the Prime Minister on Wednesday and talked to mediapersons after an interaction with Dr K.V.P. Ramachandra Rao, aide of the late YSR.

KVP tells Jagan to call off yatra
Mr K.V.P. Ramachandra Rao, close friend of the late YSR, has reportedly urged the latter’s son, Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy, to drop his plan for a ‘yatra’ to console families of people who died of shock after hearing of his father’s death.
Mr Rao, who is lobbying hard to make Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy the successor of YSR, felt that this was not an opportune moment to take out a yatra. However, Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy will be visiting Idupulapaya, Pulivendula and Chinthagundam, the crash site in Nallamalai Hills, by this weekend even as the political uncertainty over YSR’s successor continued in the state.
Mr Rao, who returned from Delhi after talks with the party high command, briefed ministers and MLAs of the Jagan camp at his residence in Banjara Hills. He apparently told them the brass had “overall” been positive to the request to make Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy the Chief Minister. Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy’s loyalists persuaded Mr Rao to continue his push with the high command.
He is likely to leave for Delhi on Wednesday. “Everything is left to Mrs Sonia Gandhi,” he said. “We hope the high command will take an appropriate decision in accordance with the prevailing public opinion.”

Mr Rao, who is lobbying hard to make Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy the successor of YSR, felt that this was not an opportune moment to take out a yatra. However, Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy will be visiting Idupulapaya, Pulivendula and Chinthagundam, the crash site in Nallamalai Hills, by this weekend even as the political uncertainty over YSR’s successor continued in the state.
Mr Rao, who returned from Delhi after talks with the party high command, briefed ministers and MLAs of the Jagan camp at his residence in Banjara Hills. He apparently told them the brass had “overall” been positive to the request to make Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy the Chief Minister. Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy’s loyalists persuaded Mr Rao to continue his push with the high command.
He is likely to leave for Delhi on Wednesday. “Everything is left to Mrs Sonia Gandhi,” he said. “We hope the high command will take an appropriate decision in accordance with the prevailing public opinion.”
