'Sania To Play With Shoaib's 'Bat'!'

Well, after a lot of toss and shot, the much talked about marriage finally took place and that gave the media folks some time to breathe.

Yes, we are talking about the much hyped and sensation creating marriage of Sania Mirza and Shoaib Mallik. If that is not sensation enough, here is something that is bound to throw you off your chair. There is a famous Telugu saying which goes “Vaallu Veellu Ayyaarata” and right now that is happening with the newly wed couple.

It is heard that Shoaib has begun to change his attention from cricket to tennis and is playing with Sania’s bat and balls while the Hyderabad girl has drifted from tennis to cricket. She is said to be playing with Shoaib’s bat and trying to catch as many balls as she can. Whether it is just the heat of the just happened marriage or whether it is the act to satisfy each other by playing with bat and balls, it has been causing many to raise an eyebrow.

As it is, the dilemma still continues whether Sania is going to play for India or Pakistan. With the announcement that they would be heading to Dubai to stay, they will become neither here nor there. Well, Sania was considered the pride of the nation but with all these new changes and the twists and her curves, it is a rather nonplussed situation for many. Ironically, many are still trying to figure out what Sania will do with Shoaib’s bat and what Shoaib will do with Sania’s balls. It is as shady as the Ayesha marriage affair which went through several different episodes before reaching an end. Well, these are the lifestyles of celebrities folks.

Why Shahid Kapoor was not invited to Sania Mirza's wedding.

While people were speculating why Shahid Kapoor was not invited to Sania Mirza's wedding. We got an industry source close to the tennis star telling us the real story.

She says, "Sania is very upset with Shahid. She felt he leaked out news about them to the media. Whatever transpired between them would be in the papers the next day.

When this happened too many times for her comfort, she called off the relationship and cut off all communication with him."

This needs to be said. The news was being leaked from Shahid's camp, but without his knowledge. The actor needs to be careful of people around him.

Even Deepika Padukone refused to go to Shak's birthday party because the news of her attending his "secret bash" was reported a day before the party.

Meanwhile...

The editor of a women's magazine is amazed at Sania's attitude. After doing a photo shoot for them, he went home in the Ed Hardy shoes she was given for the shoot.

Several reminders later, there is no reply from the tennis star. And you thought only film stars were moochers.

Newly wed 'Sania is no poster girl'

Upset with her marriage to a Pakistani, employees of petrol pumps of company endorsed by Tennis star, remove her posters

Employees of petrol pumps of a company endorsed by Sania Mirza are so upset by her marriage to Shoaib Malik, that they have taken to removing her posters from their petrol pumps.

"We have removed Sania's face from all the posters displayed here as we don't like her marrying a Pakistani cricketer," said an employee at the company's petrol pump at the Bangalore International Airport road.

"We were Sania's fans earlier. That is not the case anymore. How can any Indian marry a Pakistani?" asked an attendant at another petrol pump.

Sania Mirza's face removed from all the posters displayed at a HP petrol pump.

A businessman who owns a petrol pump of the company said all posters featuring Sania had been removed because they don't want any trouble.

"This is just being done to be on the safer side. How do we handle if some miscreants decide to pelt stones at us. The is nothing we can do in such a situation.

We hope removing the posters makes it safe for us. We don't want to invite any trouble," said the businessman.

He added, "Few of our regular customers took strong objection to her posters and advised us to have them removed."

Malik was against divorce being made public: Sources

The announcement of Ayesha Siddiqui and Shoaib Malik’s divorce before the media on Wednesday, was much against Malik’s wish, revealed family sources. According to them, the Pak. cricketer was not keen on such an arrangement and had initially agreed to ‘talaq’ only on condition that Ayesha would not make the news public.

Sources said that when mediators of both the families met at Siddiqui’s residence late on Tuesday night to reach a compromise, those representing Malik insisted that Ayesha alias Maha sign an agreement, which clearly stated that she would not disclose anything about the divorce to the media and quietly withdraw the case filed against the cricketer.

“But Ayesha was adamant that she wanted the divorce to be made public. She tore those papers that they (Maliks) had first got,” said a close friend of the Siddiqui family.

Fearing arrest, Malik was later compelled to agree. “He knew his arrest was imminent on Wednesday if he did not settle for an out-of-court settlement. So his representatives again went back to the Mirza’s house and came back with fresh papers later that night which Ayesha eventually signed,” the source said.

Sania Mirza: 'I have not slept all night'

Sania Mirza is having sleepless nights, and these are not pre-wedding jitters. While the controversy about her fiancé, cricketer Shoaib Malik’s alleged first marriage with Hyderabadi girl Ayesha Siddiqui took a bitter turn on Saturday, with both sides sung each other, Sania tweeted and expressed faith in God. “Havn’t slept all night, gonna try and sleep for a couple of hours now... lots to do and face tomorrow,” said one tweet in the early hours on Saturday.

Making it clear that her stress is not the usual pre-wedding blues, she posted, “I am pretty sure these are not the pre-wedding jitters or butterflies in the stomach my married cousins were talking bout!” She added, “...too much going on, never in my life thought that I’d had to worry bout anything.”

The tennis star, who has so far maintained a stoic silence on the controversy, thanked her supporters through Twitter and said, “Thanks for ur support and love... me and my family know what the truth is, we’ve known it all along and we have confidence in god’s justice.”Meanwhile, the couple is said to be scouting for wedding venues in Dubai and Rajasthan, owing to communal tension in Hyderabad.

Ayesha's father files FIR against Sania Fiancy

Mohammed Siddiqui, father of Shoaib Malik's alleged first wife Ayesha Siddiqui, on Sunday filed a complaint of cheating with the city police against the Pakistani cricketer.

Siddiqui, in his complaint, accused Shoaib of cheating, cruelty to woman and criminal conspiracy, Banjara Hills Police Inspector Iqbal Siddiqui said.

"We received the complaint and we have not booked any case so far. We are verifying the facts," the police official said.

Earlier in the day, Shoaib had confirmed that he would go ahead with his marriage with Sania Mirza on April 15 in Hyderabad but refused to clarify his version on his alleged marriage with Ayesha saying that his lawyer will deal with the issue.

Chamundi to tame Ayesha for Sania

The Shoaib Malik-Ayesha-Sania triangle love story is being dragged for days together like our Telugu television serial.
The latest entry into the latest episode is former Indian cricket team manager in T-20 World Cup and former Andhra cricket association secretary V Chamundishwaranath. He has entered the scene to save tennis star Sania Mirza from getting into embarrassment for marrying an already married Pakistan cricketer Shoaib Malik.
Shaoib made a clandestine visit to Sania’s residence on Saturday morning, apparently embarrassed over the disclosure of Nikahnama by his first wife Ayesha Siddiqui on Friday. Realising that the controversy is all set to disturb his marriage with Sania Mirza, Shoaib sought her help to sort it out. And she immediately called her family friend Chamundeeshwaranath to take up the issue of negotiating with Ayesha’s family. Chamundi, who himself is well known to be a big flirt with girls, was also one of those who had played a big role in Shoaib-Ayesha love affair in the past. He came to Sania’s residence in the afternoon and discussed the strategy.
Chamundi has now taken upon himself to break Ayesha-Shoaib marriage, so that the latter could happily get married to Sania. Let us see how far this episode will drag on.

Shoaib arrives, to marry Sania in Hyderabad

Hardly 12 days to go and the cross-border Sania-Shoaib match is creating the big buzz on Saturday afternoon. Sania's family insisted the wedding would be held as scheduled in Hydedrabad on April 15.
Refuting Pakistani media reports that it's been shifted to Dubai where the couple plans to settle down, her family sources made clear there is no change in the wedding plan as Shoaib Malik arrived here on Saturday.
TROUBLED MARRIAGE: The controversy over the first marriage of Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik turns ugly.
Earlier, a Hyderabadi girl Ayesha Siddiqui had accused Shoaib of cheating, saying she's already married to him.

The Siddiqui family have released pictures of what they claim is the Nikahnama. The document shows the Nikah (marriage) was performed on June 3, 2002. It was signed by Nasir Hussain, the Registrar. Hafiz Mohammad Khaled performed the Nikah. It also shows 500 rupees was paid as meher. But crucially, the Nikah registration number is missing and there are no dates for the witness signatures.
"It's easy for men to move on but it's difficult for women. His family has been insulting us all these years. All evidences we present are said to be fake by his family. How can we risk producing fake papers when we are constantly under media glare," Ayesha said. "When we decided to settle down, Shoaib started having problems with my weight."
"At 21 years, a person has voting rights. He is matured enough to decide who he has to marry. How could he claim to be fooled? He is a celebrity, a cricketer who has seen the world. After having stayed here for four times, how could he claim that he was married off to some other girl," said Ayesha's mother.
"I want my daughter to be happy and I want her to be in public. I don't want her to be a recluse because of that dirty man," she added.
"He is a cheater. Of course, I want a divorce. Why would I want her to settle with a cheater. Once a cheater always a cheater. He will be with one girl one moment and with another girl the next moment. Don't know how many girls is he with."
But Shoaib's brother-in-law Imran Zafar rubbished the claims made by Ayesha's family, saying they don't have the proof to prove that Shoaib's married Ayesha.
"I hereby commit before India and Pakistan that Shoaib Malik will divorce Ayesha only one condition that their marriage has to be proved from the Islamic point of view. I'm not talking about the Nikahnama, the nikah has to go through a process. Call one witness from our side and ten people from their side, and if they agree to their marriage, then he'll give her a divorce," said Shoaib's brother-in-law.
"An imaginary Ayesha was created who used to talk over the phone. We are not to be blamed if she turns out to be another girl. You have cheated on us we did not cheat on you all."
Meanwhile, a defamation notice has been sent by the Siddiquis to Shoaib and his brother-in-law for harassment, fraud and character assassination.
"We have not recieved. Till now we have no information. Let us receive the letter and its content and then we will deide what we have to do," said Ramesh Gupta, Shoaib's family lawyer. "I have no instructions to proceed in any manner whatsoever."
Two years earlier a letter was recieved and we responded. Shoaib has denied having married daughter of Siddiquie by claiming that there was no legal marriage between them. That's it. As far as Nikahnama is concerned he says that he did send one nikahnama to a girl whose photograph was sent to him on an e-mail which is not Ayesha Siddiqui," he added.
"He believed some other gilr to be Ayesha whose photograph was sent to him. I don't think he is planning to do anything."
But the controversy won't derail the Sania-Shoaib marriage. Both Shoaib and Sania have tweeted on the controversy. Shoaib says: "All these controversies that are coming out would not affect our marriage. Sania and me are not bothered about the past and are happy about our marrige."
Meanwhile, Sania posted in her twitter page: "Thanks for your support and love. Me and my family know what the truth is, we've known it all along and we have confidence in God's justice."
But interestingly, the cricketer himself had acknowleged his marriage in an interview to GEO TV in 2004.

I wouldn’t marry Shoaib: Sayali

The news of Shoaib Malik’s marriage to Sania Mirza has had interesting repercussions. First, MA Siddiqui claimed that Shoaib married his daughter Ayesha Siddiqui on the phone, which would make Sania his second wife. Whether this claim holds water or not, Shoaib is no stranger to breaking hearts.

Cricketers have been always been attracted to Bollywood stars and Shoaib was reportedly involved with starlet Sayali Bhagat in his commitment-free days. We talk to Sayali about her association with the Pakistani cricketer:

It was reported that you were dating Shoaib. What was your reaction to the news that Shoaib Malik is getting married to Sania Mirza on April 15?
I was not dating Shoaib. My first and last association with Shoaib was when we were offered a film together by Wilson Louis. However, the makers could not market the idea of Shoaib Malik as a leading man as he was a Pakistani cricketer. Meanwhile, 26/11 happened and that further ruined the chances of casting him. I live in Mumbai and had lost some of my friends in the Taj tragedy. I was shell-shocked and I mourned for the victims. I understand the sentiments of people and chose to step down and reject that film offer, as I did not want to jeopardise my name and career.

Were you attracted to Shoaib?
Does one get attracted to somebody in two or three meetings? At least I don’t.

You had told us “I am extremely close to Shoaib but it is too early to talk about love and relationships”. That sounds contradictory to your statement.
(Sighs) Woh sab film ki marketing strategy thi. You know how the film industry works. Aren’t co-stars linked up to make the films a talking point? The production house of the film was successful in getting publicity for the film, but at the end of the day, they still failed to get buyers.

Did the link-up affect you?
To a certain extent, it was troublesome for me. I was in a relationship, and that hit a rough patch due to the controversy. Later my relationship with my boyfriend fizzled out, but for another reason altogether. If my link-up with Shoaib hadn’t happened, maybe I wouldn’t have lost my boyfriend. I won’t deny that my parents were upset, but they are modern and educated people and they saw it in the right light.

Did you know that Shoaib had married Ayesha in 2002?
I had heard about that.

Ayesha and her parents are very upset by the news of Shoaib’s marriage. What is your take on it?
Why should I offer an opinion on anybody’s decision? But if I were ever offered marriage by Shoaib’s parents, I would have refused. I would have run away from it.

From Shoaib?
Totally. Not him per se, but because of the controversy that would follow.

What kind of a person is Shoaib?
He is very reserved and mostly keeps to himself.

Is Shoaib in touch with you now?
No. We were not in touch even then. As I said, woh sab film ki marketing strategy thi.

Sania Mirza should play for Pakistan after marriage

Even though Indian tennis star Sania Mirza has clarified that she is not making any political statement by marrying cricketer Shoaib Malik, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief Ijaz Butt has expressed hope that the wedding would help improve ties between India and Pakistan.

“While the decision by Shoaib and Sania is a personal one to get married, but I am sure it will have far-reaching effects and help improve relations between the two countries,” The News quoted Butt, as saying.

“I am sure the marriage will help regulate not only sporting relations but also help the people to come closer to each other and improve government to government level relations,” he added.

Several Pakistani sports personalities, including Imran Khan and Inzamam-ul-Haq, have wished the sports couple ‘good luck’ for a happy married life.

However, Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) chief Dilawar Abbas has said that India's tennis sensation Sania Mirza should represent Pakistan in international tennis tournaments after entering into wedlock with cricketer Shoaib Malik.

"It is great news for our tennis community that Sania Mirza is getting married to Shoaib Malik. We welcome her and hope that she would become a Pakistani national and play for us in future.

"She has a great future ahead and we would be delighted if she plays for Pakistan," The News quoted Abbas, as saying.

"Asian women traditionally follow their husbands and that's why I'm hopeful that someday she would be inspired by Shoaib to play for Pakistan," he added.

Sania has already made it clear that she would continue representing India even after her marriage.

Abbas said that even if Sania decides to continue playing for India, he hopes that she would associate herself with Pakistan tennis at some point of time.

"She can encourage our girls to take up tennis, she can inspire them to become world class players. We would hope that Sania would lend a helping hand to women's tennis in Pakistan," he said.

Abbas even suggested that Sania could team up with Pakistan's Aisam-ul-Haq on the mixed-doubles circuit.

"Both Sania and Aisam are really good doubles players. I believe that their team would not just achieve great results internationally but will also help bridge the gap between India and Pakistan," he said.

However, according to the latest shocking news, the Pakistan High Commission has denied tennis star Sania Mirza a visa for Sialkot, the home town of Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik where a reception was to be held after the couple's marriage.

Sania has only got visa for Lahore and Karachi. The duo will will tie the knot on April 11 in Hyderabad while their wedding reception is slated to be held in Dubai on April 15, where the sports couple would be staying after marriage.

But will Sania be the second wife of Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik? Yes, if one believes the father of a girl who claims to be Malik’s first wife.

Mohammed Ahmed Siddiqui, a businessman here, Wednesday announced his decision to move a court of law to seek divorce from Malik for his daughter Ayesha Siddiqui so that she can re-marry.

Hitting out at Malik, Siddiqui said the Pakistani was an “expert in enticing and entangling girls” and that could be the reason for Sania falling for him.

“He plays games with girls. He is the kind of a man who is not satisfied with one girl. He wants to be with one girl today and another girl tomorrow.

He cheated girls even in Pakistan,” a furious Siddiqui told reporters here, a day after Sania announced that she would marry the former Pakistani captain next month.

“I spoke to (the) Grand Mufti and showed him all the proof including the nikhanama of my daughter’s marriage with Shoaib and he told me that Sania will be his second wife,” Siddiqui said.

“Sania is also like my daughter. We have good relations with her family but unfortunately she decided to marry Shoaib despite knowing what he did to my daughter,” said Siddiqui.

Ayesha’s father claimed that he spoke to advocates who told him that his case is strong.

“I have the evidence to prove the marriage. He himself told the entire world that Hyderabad is his wife’s hometown and Ayesha is the name of his wife. Now he is denying the marriage and hiding his face,” he said.

Siddiqui denied the reported allegation by Malik that he was demanding Rs.18 lakh.

“Divorce for my daughter is the only thing I want from him. He is not giving divorce because this will expose him as a liar,” he said.

He claimed that the Pakistani cricketer visited Hyderabad six to seven times after marrying Ayesha. He recalled that at a Man of the Match presentation ceremony after a practice match between India and Pakistan here in 2005, Malik told Arun Lal that Hyderabad is the hometown of his wife.

“He along with the entire team came to our house,” he said referring to the reception he hosted.

Sania, the top ranking Indian woman tennis player called off her engagement with childhood friend Sohrab two months ago citing “incompatibility”.

Sania had Tuesday said that the controversy involving Malik was not on her mind. “I live in the present and so does he (Malik),” she said.

The Siddiqui family claims that Malik married Ayesha June 3, 2002 through exchange of vows (nikah) over telephone. The Pakistani cricketer has denied this.

While admitting that they were engaged, Malik said he called it off as the two families could not reach an understanding on some issues.

In February 2008, Siddiqui had threatened to sue Malik for denying the marriage with Ayesha.

He also claimed that he has the proof of marriage but did not file the case after Malik’s family accused him of cheating and warned of legal action.

In January 2008, Malik announced that he was calling off the engagement with Ayesha.

Is Sonam Kapoor playing Hot Tennis Star Sania Mirza on Screen?

Anees Bazmee’s next will be based on India’s ace Tennis star Sania Mirza and if sources are to be believed, Sonam Kapoor will be playing the role of onscreen Sania Mirza.

Sania Mirza, whose engagement with Shoaib Malik made the news yesterday, will have something more to look forward to. And even though Anees Bazmee might not agree to making film on Sania, but subject has striking resemblance to the Ace Indian Sports Lady.

The film titled as “Thank You”, will have Sonam Kapoor enacting Sania’s life onscreen, which has been full of controversy starting from her dress code, fatwas, her failed enagegement and now new engagement with Pakistani Cricket Star.

Confirming the news a source said, “Just like Sania, Sonam plays a young, attractive tennis champ and falls in love with a guy, who is completely wrong for her. She soon realises her mistake and turns back before it’s too late. Remember Sania calling off her engagement to Sohrab Mirza earlier this year before news of her impending marriage to Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik?”

Bollywood cinema news, Bollywood gossips, saniya mirza,

Talking about the news, director Bazmee said, “Sonam does pay a tennis champ, and Akshay Kumar plays a guy who’s seeing 30-35 girls at the same time, until he meets Sonam. Though he gives up flirting, he’s not particularly serious about Sonam too. It’s a funny take on courtship.”

I was concerned about Sania: Hot Hunk Navdeep

He’s struck BO gold in Kollywood as an actor, but back home, actor Navdeep is more remembered for his partying ways and friendship with Sania Mirza. The actor who keeps shuttling in and out of the city, was in town for a cancer awareness program. In a chat with Hyderabad Times he talks about films, friends and more.

Navdeep’s latest film Om Shanti, which had audiences talking about his designer togs and sense of style, was an experimental film with a new narration technique. But with the film failing to dazzle the BO, was the experiment too much of a gamble for someone who’s inching his way towards lead roles? In his usual bindaas style, Navdeep replies, “Nobody can predict if a film will be a hit or flop. If it clicks then everybody says ‘what a good decision, what acting!’ I’m not bothered by these reactions, I picked up the film because I liked the script and it was a big banner.”

His forthcoming film with Bhumika Chawla and Kim Sharma “is not the run-of-the-mill kind” he insists. Also Navdeep gets to do dare-devil stunts in the film and “all the action scenes were shot in Bangkok. You can see me jumping off high rises on to a moving truck, there’s a chase on a rooftop and lots more,” he grins.

But wasn’t pairing with Bhumika, a much senior actor, a tough call? Will it be another Dil Bole Hadippa, where Shahid Kapoor looked so much younger than the leading lady? “No, the film has a fast-paced narration; it’s a thriller unlike DBH which was a regular romantic film. So, the age factor doesn’t get magnified.” Navdeep’s currently busy with Sinam, a Tamil-Telugu bilingual, and “though offers have come, I can’t talk about them now,” he says.

On a parting note we ask him what his first reaction was on hearing about Sania Mirza’s engagement being called off. “I was concerned. I was wondering how she was taking it and hoping all was well with her. But after I heard the news that it was a mutual decision, I was glad she was handling it well.” So, has he met her in recent times? “No, it’s a long time since I met her. The last time I saw her was at a function at her place,” he signs off.

Sania tosses Coin to clinch ITF tourney

Competing in only her second Challenger event, Indian tennis ace Sania Mirza clinched the $50,000 ITF title in Lexington, USA after an upset win over top seed Julie Coin.
The Indian, who was seeded second in the event, defeated France’s Coin 7-6 (5), 6-4 on Sunday. The last time Sania competed in a Challenger event was way back in 2003.
This was Sania’s 13th ITF singles title and the first after the WTA Hyderabad Open in 2005.
She also has eight WTA doubles titles — the Hyderabad Open (2004), Bangalore, Kolkata (both 2006), New Haven, Stanford, Cincinnati and Fes (all in 2007) and Ponte Verda Beach (2009) — to her credit.
She has also clinched four ITF doubles titles. It has been a good year for Sania so far. The Hyderabadi has won first Grand Slam title of any kind when she partnered Mahesh Bhupathi to lift the Australian Open mixed doubles trophy. The feat also made her the first Indian woman ever to win a Grand Slam title and the third Indian overall, after Bhupathi and Leander Paes.
There was good news for the 22-year-old on Monday. She rose three places to 80th in this week’s WTA singles rankings. However, she dropped 10 spots to 49th in the WTA doubles list. In the ATP rankings, Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupathi held on to their sixth and eighth spots respectively in doubles list.
Meanwhile, Somdev Devvarman and Prakash Amritraj are one step away from making the singles’ main draw of the $630,500 ATP LA Open after advancing to the third and final round of the qualifying event in Los Angeles.
The second seeded Somdev beat his Slovakian opponent 6-1, 7-6 (1) while unseeded Prakash defeated Germany’s Frank Moser 7-6 (6), 6-1 in his second round. Somdev will next take on American sixth seed Alex Bogomolov Jr. Prakash will take on fifth seed American Ryan Sweeting.
