'Soha Ali Khan waxing MMS scandal' a dud

Over the weekend, Bollywood websites and blogs went into a tizzy with reports of a "Soha Ali Khan waxing MMS scandal" video.

After trawling through several dead links and investigating the matter in detail, we can safely assume that it's a campaign by vested interests with an explicit purpose: to malign the actress.

Apparently, Saif's little sis underwent a bikini wax session at a beauty salon recently. Unknown to her, there were cameras strategically placed in the room that recorded her in various states of undress and in some scenes, from close quarters, says the report.

She didn't know...
Mention is made that she is completely at ease, implying that all this was done without her knowledge and that the going price of the clips are anywhere between $20 to $30. It appears that a "leading" website (unnamed in every website and online report) shot this video in association with the salon.

Supposedly, the video shows her getting undressed and wearing a towel. Over time, her body is revealed. The salon attendant is then seen waxing her body including the bikini area. The video has been made into two episodes with "before" and "after waxing" shots.

Not to be simply content with that, the conversation (we assume doctored) borders on the "kinky".
It's a troubling trend that actresses are frequently becoming victims to the online demand for show-and-tell videos. Websites in order to attract hits, go to weird lengths to advertise MMS videos even as innocent actresses pay the price. With most people choosing to believe that these "skin flicks" are "real", it seems like a battle they're losing.

Soha remained unavailable for comment.

Starry MMS scandals
* In April 2010, controversial godman Nithyananda Swami was caught in an alleged sex video of him with actresses Ranjitha and Yuvarani.
* In July 2010 a sex video, featuring a lookalike of Katrina Kaif's sister Isabel surfaced online.
A video allegedly featuring MTV Roadies reality show contestant Tamanna was a big hit on the internet last year.
* In 2004, an MMS clip showing Kareena Kapoor and Shahid Kapur kissing did the rounds
* In 2005, Mallika Sherawat filed a police complaint to probe into an MMS featuring a lookalike of the actress engaged in a sexual act. The clip was later discovered to be that of Mexican porn star Lolly.
* Just before the release of Ashmit Patel and Riya Sen's film Silsiilay, an MMS clip of the duo was circulated. * Incidentally, the film also had steamy scenes between the two.
* In July 2005, a keyhole video of a woman, said to be Preity Zinta, in the bathroom was widely watched.Though many claimed it to be authentic, in all likelihood it was a fake.
* There was also a buzz about a Kareena Kapoor lookalike video undressing in a five-star hotel.
* While some called it a publicity stunt, a video clip of Mona Chopra (who later became Sherlyn Chopra) changing clothes created a controversy in 2006. Mona didn't deny that it was she in the video clip and said that someone might have secretly shot her in the nude.
* Vidya Balan was embroiled in an MMS scandal in 2006. A one-minute clip of her lookalike was widely circulated.
* The producers of the 2005 film Ek Haseena Ek Khiladi tried to cash in on the MMS craze to promote the film. A steamy video of Fardeen Khan and Koena Mitra spread like wildfire.
* A video featuring an actress resembling Manisha Koirala did the rounds as an MMS clip.
* Though Bhumika Chawla's stint in Bollywood failed to make any impact, a fake MMS clip of hers did get noticed by many.

Bollywood Heroine’s Bathroom Movements Leaked!!

Being a Bollywood celebrity is not an easy job and things get worse when it is a top league heroine. Perhaps asking the long legged beauty Deepika Padukone will give you a taste of that. It is heard that recently, the pretty girl hit the roof during an outdoor schedule in Mauritius.

Apparently, the director Danish Aslam’s assistants were given walkie talkies so that Deepika’s movements can be updated during the shooting. The assistants took it rather literally and began updating stuff like ‘Deepika coming out of van’ ‘Deepika speaking on mobile phone’ etc.

It seems that she was not comfortable with all that but the real mess happened when Deepika went to take a leak in the bathroom. It seems that the pretty girl heard one of the assistants speaking in the walkie “Deepika went into toilet”. This snapped her and she gave a proper dressdown to the assistants. Well, that coating worked and the assistants became careful, as per unit members.

Neil forced to kiss Deepika!

Deepika Padukone has kissed Saif Ali Khan on screen, but her new co-star Neil Nitin Mukesh was a virgin kisser on camera. The conservative actor had no choice but to succumb to a liplock for Yashraj Films' "Lafange Parindey".

Neil has pulled out the plug on his no-kissing clause as he was virtually forced to do a long, lingering kissing scene with Deepika.

Director Pradeep Sarkar and Deepika had to use every possible power of persuasion before Neil abandoned his chastity vow.

"At first Neil was totally against the kiss with Deepika. He has refused to kiss in all his films," said a source close to the project.

"In fact his first director, Sriram Raghavan, threw a fit when Neil refused to kiss Rimi Sen. In his second film, 'Tera Kya Hoga Johnny', director Sudhir Mishra insisted Neil kiss Shahana Goswami, but the actor refused. Even in 'Jail' where there was a love-making scene with Mugdha Godse, Neil refused to kiss," the source added.

Conservative to the core, Neil plunged into his first kiss only after the director assured him that the romantic relationship needed a culmination.

"Pradeep persuaded Neil and he finally saw his director's point of view. But the actor was nervous. Deepika had kissed before on screen. Not Neil," the source said.

"He first suggested a peck. But was finally persuaded to do a long, torrid smooch comparable in intensity and duration with Aamir Khan and Karisma Kapoor's kiss in 'Raja Hindustani'," the source added.

When contacted, Neil said: "I can't talk about this. But, yes, we've gone completely by the requirements of the script. And 'Lafange Parinde' is my first love story."

Aishwarya Rai to clash with Sallu

Guess who’s taking takkar with Salman Khan at the box office this Eid?

Not Karan Johar, the filmmaker prudently brought forward the release of his We Are Family to September 3, to clear the deck for Salman’s Dabanng on the 10th; but it’s Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who’s bilingual The Robot opposite Rajinikanth is believed to be slated for a simultaneous release.

The promos of Dabanng have created a kind of trade flurry. Bollywood’s enfant terrible in his Robin Hood act has captured the imagination of the tapori class and the tradewallahs. It is the film promo that has the highest number of hits on an internet site, says a television journalist.

As for the Rajinikanth-Aishwarya starrer in Hindi and Endhiran in Tamil, a trade source says, “ So far they have only said The Robot is coming in September. Whether it will come on Eid will be announced shortly. However, there is scope for both films. Dabanng will prove to be very strong in the Hindi belt and Rajnikanth, who is a demi God in Tamil Nadu, has the biggest patronage ever in the South.’’ Bollywood trade consultant Amod Mehra says, “The recovery pattern for a Rajinikanth film is very unusual. Besides the regular markets for South films, Rajinikanth also has a huge fan base in Singapore, Malaysia, Japan, UK and Australia.’’

Kajol’s angry with Ajay!

Kajol has reason to be angry. Very angry. And the reason has hubby Ajay Devgn scratching his head in sheer embarrassment.

So what’s the reason? It’s Ajay’s total lack of time to catch Kadz’s brilliant movies. Apparently, his hectic schedule still hasn’t allowed him to catch wifey’s My Name Is Khan. And when we asked him if this was true, he had no answer.

“I promised her I’d catch it. And I will. Just as soon as I’m done with all my release work for Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai. But I’m proud of one thing. I’ve caught the promos of We Are Family and I think she’s looking great in it as always. In fact, I plan to catch that and MNIK too,” grinned the deadly Devgn. But actually, the lad’s been working so hard it’s not even funny.

After the success of Raajneeti, Ajay can get set to bask in the accolades and bouquets he’s bound to get after his rocking act in Once Upon A Time in Mumbaai. And Kajol will love that one too. Then maybe Ajay can appease wifey with a bedtime story ... one that begins with Once Upon A Time... Wotsay?

When Sonam ’s pants slipped down!

Sonam Kapoor might be applauded for her classy style, but she just diverted a wardrobe malfunction!

The actress, who is going around the city to promote her forthcoming film ‘Aisha’ was left embarrassed when during a press event, her pants kept on slipping off. What’s more is that the young diva had to literally pin-up her pants to hold them at her waist.

Confirming the news, a source said, “After the press conference, when Sonam started to interact with the media, her pants kept slipping off, and she was quite pre-occupied with her slipper pantaloons.”

What’s more is that Sonam didn’t even have the time to run to a restroom to fix her slipping pants. The actress decided to pin up her pants in front of the crowd. “She kept pulling them up again and again, but finally had to resort to pinning her trousers. The crowd was in splits,” adds the source.

Well, considering Sonam is known more for her fashion sense than her acting, it’s only fair that the actress gets her style right.

Mahesh Bhupathi: Lara, who?

That was Mahesh Bhupathi’s response when asked about Lara Dutta on a recent visit to Delhi.

While the actress was here to walk as the showstopper for Rina Dhaka at the Pearls Infrastructure Delhi Couture Week, Bhupathi was in the city to attend a school’s function.

Which is why, despite it being a Sunday, the kids were more than excited to go to school, for once!
At the press conference, he requested that no personal questions be asked (read questions about his divorce and new GF, Lara Dutta) in front of the schoolchildren. However, when we caught him later and asked if he had any plans of entering Bollywood, his reply was short (even if not sweet), “I don’t know.” When asked what he liked about Lara, he seemed unprepared for the question and shot back, “Who Lara? I don’t know.”

He was, however, right on time at the event and was greeted by a crowd of eager parents and students who surrounded him, asking for autographs. He jumped the railings and entered the school building in order to avoid the crowd, rather than walking till the door.

KJo's A to Z of Bollywood!

Bollywood is definitely a great place and I can’t see myself being anywhere else. Being born to a family associated with movies, I learnt the basics at an early age... And knowledge must be spread.

So here it is... The tongue-in-cheek A to Z of the Bollywood Alphabet as I know it... Some of it may be relevant... Most of it may not... But go through it anyway...

A for AMITABH BACHCHAN – The undisputed King of Bollywood
B for BALLS – which some have... some pretend to... and some don’t at all...
C for CRITICS – who aren’t always qualified but never disqualified!
D for DIRECTOR – who everyone assumes knows what he is doing.
E for EGO – which is plenty in the industry but seldom helps.
F for ******* – Lets not go there... I’ll need more than a column to divulge those details...
G for GOSSIP – which everyone contributes to yet no one owns up to...
H for HISTORY – Which if you don’t make it... You are it...
I for INTERNATIONAL – which everyone has gone but ‘they’ still aren’t aware...
J for JACK OF ALL TRADES – that would undoubtedly be me...
K for KAREENA AND KATRINA – who have beauty, brains and blockbusters...
L for LUST – which most often is mistaken for the other four-letter word beginning with ‘L’...
M for MOTHER – an element that never goes wrong in movies...
N for NEW AGE – A word often thrown at the mainstream to give it a complex...
O for ORGANISATION – An alien concept in most quarters...
P for PAPARAZZI AND PR – The latest entrants in Bollywood... Celebrities are fashionably in denial about them but cant do a day without them...
Q for QUEENS – A lot of them around ruling the roost...
R for RAT RACE – Even if you win you are still a rat... Just a well-paid one!
S for SHAH RUKH KHAN – Sorry couldn’t resist that one...
T for TWITTER – where everyone’s talking and no one’s listening
U for UNIVERSAL HIT – Full page ads proclaim this every Friday... ‘Proclaim’ being the operative word...
W for WANNABE – a virus that has no vaccination...
X for ‘EX FACTOR’ – which rules the industry... Everywhere you turn there’s an ex!
Y for YES MEN – who everyone has around them just to feel ‘objective’...
Z for Zzzzzzz – a sound I’m hoping you guys aren’t making right now!

I'm not Rakhi: Kashmera Shah

This dusky babe really knows how to make her presence felt! Whether it was leading the rebellion against Rakhi Sawant in Bigg Boss or taking the bold decision to live-in with beau Krushna, Kashmera Shah has gone ahead and done things her way. This gutsy gal is in news again — making cow dung cakes and scrubbing the buffaloes away to glory on Imagine’s reality show Desi Girl. She gets up, close and personal with TOI on charity, love, emotions and more...

‘Mee pann Marathi mulgi aahe!’
This half Marathi girl is mighty proud of her Maratha heritage and is enjoying the accolades coming her way because of her kitschy portrayal in recently released Marathi film Lalbaugh Parel, and her eyeball-grabbing demeanour in Desi Girl. She says, “I’m the only Maharashtrian girl in the show. Baaki logon ne meri vaat lagane ki fultoo koshish kii, but I stuck to my guns. Mee Pann Marathi mulgi aahe!” But, in the very first episode she had to face a lot of embarrassment with the owner of the home in the village refusing to allow her in! Remind her about this and Kash says, “I was dressed in sexy western attire because I’m a sex symbol and our hostess wanted me to wear a salwar kameez. Since my luggage hadn’t arrived, she made me and Ishita stand outside for quite sometime. It really hurt me because things went wrong in the beginning itself! But soon, she changed her opinion about me!”

World record for being broke
She admits that most of the women tend to get intimidated in her presence. She explains this phenomenon thus, “Women usually get intimidated in the presence of a sexy, good-looking, successful woman in the first instance. But later, when they allow themselves to know me, I’m generally liked by people. People think I’m tough as nails, but they don’t realise that I’m a very impulsive person. I decided to get married within two days and was shattered soon after. I have also made the world record of sorts for being broke numerous times. I earn well, but blow the moolah much faster!”

‘My BF gets insecure!’
Myriad ups and downs of life have taught her that planning doesn’t work when it comes to one’s destiny. Ask her if this funda also extends to planning a nuptial date with Krushna and pat comes the reply, “If we ever have children, we will get married! Honestly, it’s really a wonderful thing that we have remained friends even after being together for four years. We still long to be with each other and my BF still gets insecure whenever I lose weight and become very sexy! So, who the hell is complaining!”

‘I’m not Rakhi Sawant!’
If she’s happy with her live-in status, there’s one thing that completely puts her off, and that’s tom-tomming one’s charitable acts. Not many know that Kash is an ardent animal lover and has been working for the welfare of senior citizens as well. But, she clams up the moment anyone asks her to speak about it. “These things are connected to my soul. If I speak about them, there’ll be no difference between Rakhi Sawant and me,” she reasons.

Kaizad Gustad gets jail

Six years to the day after a woman in filmmaker Kaizad Gustad’s film unit was run over by a local train during a shoot, the director has been found guilty of negligence and has been sentenced to a month in jail.

British national Nadia Khan, then 26, Gustad’s assistant for the shoot, was hit by a train while standing on a live track during the shooting of a film in Mumbai, reports the BBC.

However, Gustad, who directed ‘Boom’, will not be sent to prison as he had served a month in jail during the trial.

The other five accused in the case were acquitted of the charges of destroying evidence.

The decision came after a lengthy trial when a more serious charge of culpable homicide was changed into ‘rash and negligent act’.

Police said that the crew did not have permission to film on the tracks.

Gustad had initially given false information to police. He told the cops that Khan had died in a road accident.

A Mumbai court also fined the director 1,500 dollars.

No shoots with Shahid: Kareena

We had heard that Bebo will do anything for Boney Kapoor’s Milenge Milenge, but the truth is far from otherwise.

The top actress has been giving grief to the producer by postponing and not giving dates to shoot the promotional video, which on her request is being shot separately, and not with Shahid.

After her break-up with Shahid Kapoor, it has become next to impossible to get both of them in the same frame. With Milenge Milenge being stuck in the pipeline for the longest time, this dilly-dallying by Bebo has been a further hindrance.

A source from the unit reveals, “On Kareena’s say they decided to shoot the promotional video separately and merge them while editing. Shahid shot his part, and Bebo still had to finish her part. But the actress kept postponing and giving her dates to her other projects. She was busy shooting for Stepmom and now it is Golmaal 3 in Goa.”

The source continues, “Boney had a word with Kareeena while she was in Goa and plans were also getting implemented for them to go shoot her part in Goa. But her hectic schedule in Goa also cancelled this plan.

Now that she is returning back to Mumbai, he plans to get her dates and finish off her portion for the promotional video as soon as possible.”

When contacted Boney he says, “The promotional video was never meant to be shot together. Shahid has already shot his part and Kareena was supposed to shoot separately her part when she was in town for Stepmom photo shoots, but it couldn’t happen then.”

He adds, “Kareena is currently in Goa shooting for Golmaal 3 and will do her part very soon. We will be shooting in an outdoor location because we require a sunset scene.”

Kareena Kapoor was unavailable for comment.

Vaishali walks out on Shiney Ahuja!

Is Shiney jinxed? It seems, actresses are walking out on Shiney Ahuja. The latest actress who refused to work with Shiney is Vaishali Desai, who has walked out of ‘Shaunya’.

Shiney’s career just started looking up, as he signed a film after being allegedly accused of raping his maid servant. But controversies refuse to leave the actor alone. As soon as he signed ‘Shaunya’, the lead actress Vaishali Desai walked out immediately.

Shiney's role was initially offered to Adhynan Suman but the producers felt Shiney was a better choice for the film.

Is Vaishali being judgmental or just concerned about her safety? ``It's personal," when we asked Vaishali why she's left the film. “A lot is being written about me that I left the film because of Shiney. I don’t want to comment on it and add fuel to the fire. But I have maintained that personal reasons made me refuse the film” says Vaishali, a former Miss India. Vishali Desai made her debut in Kal Kissne Dekha opposite Jackie Bhagnani.

But is she open to working with Shiney in future? “At this moment I can’t comment on the issue,” says a defiant Vaishali.

Shaunya is a horror flick which is being produced by Puja Bedi, neice of Bobby Bedi and goes on the floors in May itself. And Sayali Bhagat has replaced Vaishali as the main protagonist of the film.

KJO's bindaas bol To Sajid Khan

Karan Johar is clearly not happy with Sajid Khan's constant statements of Housefull beating the collections of My Name Is Khan in India.

In his latest tweet from New York, where he is holidaying, KJo says, "I feel truly blessed... my film is a barometer for this year's successes." Oh, we do love the way he speaks his mind.

Salman Khan phobia: Vivek locks himself!

Recently, Vivek Oberoi had plenty of time to study the interiors of his vanity van. Having being alerted that Salman Khan was on the premises, he locked himself up in his van for a good 75 minutes.

In a historic fiasco, Vivek had taken on Salman years ago. Obviously, the memory is bound to rankle and he wouldn’t want a repeat performance of the same.

In this particular instance, he had just finished performing for a show and retreated to his van to change before leaving. Salman, who may or may not have known about Vivek’s presence, showed up and was chatting a few metres away with his friends before he went on stage for the grand finale.

Vivek’s pals rushed to his van to tell him about Salman’s presence. The former, having learnt the hard way that discretion is the better part of valour, decided to stay put in his van. He was in a rush to go partying with his friends but for over an hour, Vivek was left twiddling his thumbs and counting the minutes.

Only when Salman left to perform did Vivek emerge from his van. Obviously the same thoughtful aides played watchdog and gave him the green signal when the road was clear.

This is not the first time that Salman and Vivek have been present at the same venue at the same time. At Ramesh Taurani’s party last year, Vivek had exited in a rush when he saw Salman Khan arriving. He was in such a hurry to leave that he asked his driver to move so that he could take control of the steering.

We are not surprised that Vivek has been trying to keep away from the moody Salman. Repeated attempts to apologise have failed, so naturally he expects a confrontation when they come face to face.

At an awards function in 2007, Vivek had taken the opportunity to show Salman how apologetic he was — Vivek had grabbed his ears and bowed, but Salman had just shaken his head.

Vivek remained unavailable for comment. But his manager Raj said, “Vivek left in time. He had to attend a get-together. After him, Lara and Shahid performed. Then came Salman. So there was no question of confrontation.”

Bachchans would kill me, if I'd cast Vivek in Sarkar 3

Ram Gopal Varma is one filmmaker who always makes the kind of film he believes in. The flamboyant director is does exactly what he pleases without caring about the consequences.

Be it the hype surrounding his controversial flicks like Nishabh or Ram Gopal Varma ki Aag or his alleged closeness to starlets like Priyanka Kothari, the man is undeterred. He also speaks his mind and doesn't mince words.

Ramu, as he is fondly called, is in the public eye lately post his recent release Phoonk 2. The film was a debacle to say the least and received brickbats galore. Not only does RGV remain unfazed, but also stoutly defends his film. This has brought his next Rakta Charitra, under the scanner.

The film stars his protégée Vivek Oberoi. The two will work together for the first time since Ramu launched Vivek in Company in 2002.

This is prompted certain sections of the media to report that Vivek is also being considered for Ramu's Sarkar 3. Sarkar and its sequel Sarkar Raj have been among Varma's most successful films so far.

He recently spoken about the uproar created about this. He reported said that he wouldn't dare to cast Vivek in Sarkar 3 for fear of the Bachchan's reaction. He even remarked that they would kill him if he were to do such a thing!

It was in jest but it sure looked like the fearless Ramu was afraid of certain repercussions regarding casting Vivek!

I hope Phoonk 3 is never made: KJo

Bollywood director Karan Johar hit out at filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma on Wednesday, expressing hope that the latter's third instalment in the scary franchise Phoonk is never made.

"I have heard that Ram Gopal Varma has said that the scariest movie he has ever watched is (my) Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna... I haven't watched Phoonk and Phoonk 2 but I hope Phoonk 3 is never made," Karan told reporters in his signature tongue-and-cheek fashion.

Is Sonam Kapoor playing Hot Tennis Star Sania Mirza on Screen?

Anees Bazmee’s next will be based on India’s ace Tennis star Sania Mirza and if sources are to be believed, Sonam Kapoor will be playing the role of onscreen Sania Mirza.

Sania Mirza, whose engagement with Shoaib Malik made the news yesterday, will have something more to look forward to. And even though Anees Bazmee might not agree to making film on Sania, but subject has striking resemblance to the Ace Indian Sports Lady.

The film titled as “Thank You”, will have Sonam Kapoor enacting Sania’s life onscreen, which has been full of controversy starting from her dress code, fatwas, her failed enagegement and now new engagement with Pakistani Cricket Star.

Confirming the news a source said, “Just like Sania, Sonam plays a young, attractive tennis champ and falls in love with a guy, who is completely wrong for her. She soon realises her mistake and turns back before it’s too late. Remember Sania calling off her engagement to Sohrab Mirza earlier this year before news of her impending marriage to Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik?”

Bollywood cinema news, Bollywood gossips, saniya mirza,

Talking about the news, director Bazmee said, “Sonam does pay a tennis champ, and Akshay Kumar plays a guy who’s seeing 30-35 girls at the same time, until he meets Sonam. Though he gives up flirting, he’s not particularly serious about Sonam too. It’s a funny take on courtship.”

Condoms Fallen From Puri Girl

Condoms Fallen From Puri Girl and The slender sizzler Kangana Ranaut may have been known as the most promising actresses along with superb talent, but at the same time, controversies have also been a part of her life. This time, our Bollywood bureau has reported something very interesting.

It was Kangana’s birthday yesterday and she had hosted a private party to very near and dear group of friends. Drinks were flowing in and after a while, the birthday girl was said to be on a high. Later, she disappeared for quite a while and then came back.

During the time of leaving, Kangana’s handbag dropped and got opened. Packets of condom fell out of it. Those who were around were wondering what the condoms were doing in her handbag and whether this had something to do with the brief absence in between the party. Only the birthday baby can explain.

Don’t call Karan gay!

Filmmaker Karan Johar, otherwise known for his jovial and friendly nature, has hit back at people making comments on his personal life on microblogging site Twitter.

"While most tweets are objective, frank and warm... the ones that are constantly making tactless statements about my personal life are upsetting," Karan wrote.

"Critical appraisal and analysis is more than welcome...but insinuations and comments about my life, choices and orientation are NOT...," he added.

Actress Sonam Kapoor tweeted in favour of Karan, suggesting he should block such people.

"Block them on your twitter account, they are haters who are just jealous," she wrote.

Right now he is busy completing his untitled film with Kajol, Kareena Kapoor and Arjun Rampal. The movie is an adaptation of Chris Columbus' 1998 movie "Stepmom".

Karan is also expected to start shooting for the "Dostana" sequel with Abhishek Bachchan and John Abraham this summer.
