Telugu Movie 'Charulatha' Review: Lifeless Drama!!
Banners: Sax Pictures, Geetha Films
Cast: Priyamani, Skanda, Saranya Ponvannan, Seetha, Ravi Shankar, Sai Sasi, Prasad and others
Music: Sundar C Babu
Cinematographer: Paneerselvam
Editor: Don Max
Director: Pon Kumaran
Producers: Dwarakeesh, Ramesh Krishnamurthy
Release date: 21/09/2012
Priyamani who is known for her natural acting talent seems to have come up with a different subject in a horror genre. Whether it is scary enough, let us see
Story:
Charu (Priyamani) and Latha (Priyamani again) are conjoined twins and grow up together. But at one point, both of them get separated through surgery and in this process Latha dies.
Meanwhile, Charu falls in love with Ravi (Skanda) and both decide to get married. However, strange incidents begin to happen when Charu comes to meet her ailing mother (Saranya). She begins to sense the presence of Latha who has returned as a ghost to trouble her.
Whether it is true, why did Latha come back and what happens from there forms the rest of the story.
Performances:
Priyamani gave her full to this role and did her best but her characters were not strengthened properly making it look weak. Still, she has done her part sincerely.
Skanda underplayed his role in the required manner. He is a new face to the Telugu circuit but he was at ease in front of camera and showed confidence in few scenes.
Saranya Ponvannan was standard, Seetha was alright, Ravishankar was brief, Sai Sasi was okay. The child artist was overacting and the rest didn’t have much to offer.
Highlights:
The fact that this happens to be a remake of the super hit Thai horror movie ‘Alone’ set a lot of expectations on this movie. Secondly, someone talented as Priyamani is leading from the front made it an attractive product. But despite having a readymade script and an efficient actress, the director failed to infuse any value to the film. It looked as if the film was running as if it had nothing to do with the audience.
Ideally, the feel was missing and it was only due to Priyamani’s screen presence the viewers showed some patience.
Speaking about her, why is Priyamani digging a grave to her career? She is beautiful, sexy, and immensely talented and despite possessing all rare qualities, her choices of films are bad. Whether it is desperation or insecurity, she sure is making a mess of her remaining future. The sooner she realizes it, the better it is for her.
The remake is nowhere near the original and the first half runs lifelessly with few erratic scenes. The second half tends to pick up some melodrama angle but has no depth or intensity. It is only one climax twist that is good.
That way, the resources were available but the director could not execute it at all. At the box office, this might not be able to stand a chance.
Bottomline: Better to watch the original Thai movie (even without subtitles)

Ravi Babu's 'Nuvvila' Review: Enjoyable
Banner: Usha Kiron Movies
Cast: Ajay, Havish, Prasad, Yami Gautam, Remya Nambeesan and others
Ravi Babu who is known for his innovative style of storytelling and this time, he has teamed up with prestigious Usha Kiron banner and a team of fresh faces. Let us see how this is-
Story:
This is a story of three youngsters- Anand (Ajay) is a kind hearted guy who tends to have an element of confusion everytime. Mahesh (Havish) is an aspiring model and he wants to strike it big.
Raja (Prasad) is an aspiring musician and wants to become a big violinist. The trio becomes friends as they work at the same pizza joint. Now, Anand is in love with Archana (Yami) but he never expresses it to her directly. Mahesh has a fight with his girlfriend Madhavi (Sarayu) and he gets chased by a secret admirer.
Raja considers his classmate since school Rani (Remya) as a bad luck for him. The story takes a turn when Anand discovers Archana is in love with someone else, Mahesh gets caught with a gay (Haleem) and Raja ends up marrying Rani. What happens from there forms the rest of the story.
Performances:
Ajay has come up with a decent performance but he could have shown little more energy though his role is sober. Overall, he gave a contained performance.
Havish brought few smiles. He is handsome and has shown confidence with comfortable body language but he needs to work on his dialogue delivery. Of course, it suited him here in this role.
Prasad was a show stealer. More because of his cute looks and for the energy levels he shows. Also, being an actor from Mumbai he has dubbed for his own voice which is appreciated.
Yami was really yummy. She is a perfect package of attractive looks, bubbly energy and good glamour. She was equally good when it came to emotional scenes. She has potential.
Remya is the senior most among the lead cast. She has done her role with finesse and has a cute look. She has a confident appeal in front of the camera and can take up challenging roles.
Sarayu was brief but she has a good sex appeal and is a familiar face to the TV audience. She has expressive eyes and carried her role with ease.
Ravi Babu was there for some entertainment. Haleem was good. Devaa was alright. Sudhakar Raju was matured. Radha Kumari was funny. The others did their bit as required and added value.
Highlights:
Performances from the lead cast
Narration
Comedy
Good pace
Drawbacks:
Anti climax
Logical loopholes in script
Lack of branded actors
Few concepts crossed limits
Analysis:
Ravi Babu is one film maker who strongly believes that more than the actors it is the story which is important. Hence, the quality of content in his movies is usually good. Of course, it doesn’t mean he comes up with variety. It is the same formula but packed in a different and entertaining manner. As such, he is a good story teller and at the same time a crafty technician.
Above all, he is aware of how to tap the pulse of the college going audience. And given the low costs that involve his projects, he is obviously a good choice for few producers.
While all this is one side, there comes a point when as a filmmaker he should look at justifying the concept and reason behind his plot. For instance,
The track between Ajay-Yami talks about parents being too broadminded. This would have been convincing if the parents had done that on a compromising note rather than a welcoming note.
There are instances when it is obvious to the audience that the film is made on a shoestring budget. This tends to hamper the production values.
Overall, this is a film which has good entertainment, required masala and enough ingredients to keep the audience engrossed throughout the film. As for the viewers, all genres of them would connect to it easily. Given the budget and cost of making, the film will surely rake in profits and this will be a very successful venture at the box office. But then it is time for the lead cast to come and do the post release promotion.
Bottomline: Youthful and entertaining, watch it once

'Sneha Geetam' Review: Youthful, Lively
Produced By: Lagadapati Sridhar
Banner: Larsco Entertainment
Cast: Venky, Shreya Dhawanthary, Sandeep, Suhani, Chaitanya, Riya, Vennela Kishore, Melkote, Shruthi, Krishnudu, ARC Babu, VB Rao etc
Music: Sunil Kashyap
Lyrics: SiraSri, Chinni Charan
Editing: Lokesh
Digital Editor: Anirudra
Cinematography: PG Vinda
Screenplay, Dialogue: Madhura Sridhar, Mohan Bharadwaj
Story, Direction: ‘Madhura’ Sreedhar
Producer: Lagadapati Sirisha Sridhar
Released On: Jul 16th, 2010
A youthful movie with title ‘Sneha Geetham’ has arrived today. The faces are new, the director is new and obviously it carries no big expectation. But the hype created for this film has pulled me to watch it. Let us see if the material in this film is in tune with the hype or not.
Story:
This is the story of three young boys Ravi (Venky), Krishna (Chaitanya) and Arjun (Sandeep) who complete their graduation in engineering and want to be an entrepreneur, a SW employee and a film director respectively. Their love interests happen to be Shailu (Shreya Dhanwanthary), Pooja (Riya) and Maha (Suhani) respectively. How these guys achieve their dreams crossing the barriers, form the story. Just watch it on big screen and I’m sure it makes you elated.
Performances:
Venky has got the class elegance. He delivered matured performance. He has bright future as multiplex hero in the lines of Siddhartha.
Sandeep is rugged and has mass appeal. He can do well if takes care in choosing right scripts those suit his serious body language. His voice has good base which is an advantage.
Chaitanya, the wonderful dancer among young folks has a happy going face and he can be a family entertainer down the line.
Shreya Dhanwanthary gave apt performance while Riya also did well without any complaint. Suhani should be appreciated for own dubbing. She is perfect and cute.
Lohit Kumar has got a catchy role. He portrayed the role of perverted Software Manager trying to woo a heroine. He has the material to become best villain in Tollywood.
Arun, ARC Babu and VB Rao made presence felt as fathers.
Krishnudu delivered humorous and touching performance as Pitamaha. Vennela Kishore delivered right comedy as Box Office Bhushanam (recalling Tanikella Bharani in ‘Money Money’). Shruthi scores well as mother while ARC Babu is matured and serious in performance with echoing voice. Venu Madhav’s AIDS Papa Rao track is rib-tickling. Others are ok.
Music by Sunil Kashyap scores highest mark while Sirasri and Chinni Charan have given appropriate lyrics. Cinematography by PG Vinda is honest.
The debutant director ‘Madhura’ Sreedhar has done a fabulous job as an experienced director with huge stuff. He proves to be a promising director for Tollywood.
Production values by Lagadapati Sridhar are awesome and his publicity really helped this good movie reach majorities. Kudos should laurel him for bestowing such a meaningful movie to society.
Music:
* 'Oka Snehame' written by SiraSri is instant winner and the tune haunts
* 'Veyo Veyo' of SiraSri has got peppy features in it and the choreography is impressive
* 'Farewell Song' penned by SiraSri is sounding novel all the way and its pictured as celebration
* 'Sarigama Padani' written by Chinni Charan turned out to the best melody
Highlights:
Music
Lyrics
Storyline
Dialogues
Direction
Debutant Heroes and heroines with great performances
Songs picturization
Side Lights:
VV Vinayak gave his voice over at the outset
Producer Lagadapati Sridhar appears in real-time character
Disappointments:
Costumes of heroines could have been better. They are realistic but not pleasing.
Editing is sharp and for this sort of movies it could have been focused on mood
Director’s amateurism is seen in composition of a few scenes
Analysis:
You might have watched romantic films, action films, comedy films and educating films…Have you ever heard of ‘helpful film’? Here it is..It is helpful for entire family members…See how it helps…
* Are you the father of a young boy or girl who completed studies and about to settle down in life? Watch this movie to know their true emotions? You may take a right decision that definitely helps them…
* Are you the son of a perfectionist father who speaks on practical lines but not understanding your passion? Watch this so that you can know the better way to communicate your ideas to your father. It really helps you…
* Are you in love with your class mate at present? Watch this to know when to propose and how to propose. You may end up with wedding without any hassle. It certainly helps you…
* Are you an aspiring entrepreneur but there is none to support you financially? Watch this to find a right solution to know the way to project yourself…It surely helps you…
* Are you an aspiring film director and completed your studies? Watch this to know darker and brighter sides of film industry. It perfectly helps you…
It’s a pleasant, heart touching, thought provoking, sincere and worthy movie that shouldn’t be missed by any family member. Responsibility is shown in all perspectives- from the side of father, from mother and from grown up children. Love is justified in either ways- from the boy and from the girl.
The film aptly describes the phase between ‘after the completion of degree and before getting settled in life’ with 3 pairs. On a whole, the majority of entire student community fits into these 3 sets. Debutant director should be appreciated for giving out such a matured and highly convincing product. There are no chasings, no beating around the bushes, no artificial scenes, no violence and there is just one thing in the film- that is ‘reality’. ‘Sneha Geetam’ opens a new genre all together- a sincere voyage with less cinematic liberties and more honest features. Humor is not missed and there is adequate. Emotions of all categories are well carried till the end.
First half goes with bits and phases of college life style while second half screens the real material. The last 30 minutes prove to be the highlight.
Bottom Line: Must-watch by every family member

K Vishwanath's 'Shubhapradam' Review: Only For Senior Citizens
Cast: Allari Naresh, Manjari Phadnis, Sharath Babu, Vizag Prasad, Ashok Kumar, Gundu Sudarshan, Giribabu, Raghubabu, Rallapalli, Jayalakshmi, Dubbing Janaki, Devadas Kanakala, Amanamanchi and Others.
Banner: Sri Sri Rajarajeswari Films Pvt. Ltd.
Music: Mani Sharma.
Presenter: Cherukuri Kousalendra Rao.
Producers: Harigopala Krishna Murthy, PN Thilak.
Director: K. Viswanath.
Release Date: July 16, 2010
K Vishwanath is back after a long time. It is obvious that expectations will be on high for his films. Let us see how Subhapradam goes with the audiences.
Story Line:
Indu (Manjari) is a music loving girl. Her mother is a Malayali and father (Vizag Prasad) Telugu. She has two younger paternal uncles (Ashok Kumar and Sudarshan) whose wives are from Chennai and Kolkata respectively. Thus entire India lives in her family. She is good at speaking Telugu, Malayalam, Bengali and Tamil. She happens to see Chakri (Allari Naresh), accidentally who is a good singer but not a professional one.
Chakri falls in her love and the response from other side also comes good. But Chakri has a peculiar profession that gets revealed amidst the movie. That is carrying the old and disabled on his back for climbing the hill which is the abode of a goddess.
But eventually, Indu happens to encounter a rich man (Sharath Babu) that turns her life. The major twist in the story appears there. Who is that rich man? The story goes like this. He had a grand daughter by name Sindhu who looks perfectly like Indu. Sindhu dies in an acid attack followed by ragging and hence when he sees the look-alike of his grand daughter in Indu, he follows her. What happens later becomes rest of the movie in this confused story line.
Acting:
Allari Naresh has got weak characterization. No heroism was shown from his side. But still he made people laugh with his timing and dialogue delivery. Hats off for him for that.
Manjari Fadnis is really beautiful and in a few frames she looked like Jayaprada. She performed really well with wonderful nativity. She can have bright future if she chooses right story lines and directors.
Jaya Lakshmi also danced well and it is hard to believe that she is 30 plus. She looked active and lovely.
Vamsi of Happy Days fame appears in a guest role.
Vizag Prasad, Ashok Kumar and Sudarshan trio are funny with their half bald heads.
Comedy is very weak as it’s outdated.
Cinematography is impressive, music is excellent and Choreography is also good in the first 2-3 songs.
Story, Screenplay and Direction are very weak and are not at all gripping the hearts of audiences.
Analysis:
K Vishwanath lost his grip completely. He is not going in tune with the present day audience. No one understands where the story is going. He started with a music concert atmosphere and then shifted that to goddess of a hill. Later he has gone to flash back showing college episodes, ragging etc. Nothing hits the heart but blows off the head. And above all, the typical old styled Dance Ballads test the patience of audiences.
Except one song ‘Mouname Chebutondi..’ rest of the movie is a dud with artificially concocted emotional and sentimental drama.
And the hero in the movie is Manjari but not Allari Naresh. But still he made his presence felt with his minimal non-heroic role. Another character in the movie is Vamsi Krishna of ‘Happy Days’ fame who got a small role to play. Both Naresh and Vamsi may have the satisfaction for acting in K Vishanath’s direction, but that wouldn’t add anything for their career.
To sign off, Subhapradam is an outdated narration with weak story and confused screenplay.
At lost-line: Forget It

Review
Story
Pappu (Krishnudu) is a young man whose life is written with bad luck. His helping nature and kind heart tends to do good to others but at his own expense. His life takes a turn when he sees Radha (Dipikka), his boss’s (Banerjee) daughter and begins to like her. However, Dipikka gets kidnapped by few goons and this puts her family in a dilemma. They call for the help of the ace detective Ram (Subbaraju) and due to a sentiment, even Pappu is sent in the search mission. What is that sentiment? How does a guy riddled with bad luck help Ram? What happens to Pappu’s love story? All this forms the rest of the story. Telugu Movie Reviews
Artists Performance:
This is an entirely new Krishnudu that we see. He has grown in confidence and his body language is more demonstrative. He is able to emote the expressions very well and does full justice to his character. His efforts and commitment levels are praiseworthy.
Dipikka is a natural beauty and has shades of Sharmila Tagore in few angles. She has shown ease in front of the camera though it is her debut attempt and she can do well if she works on her expressions and lip movement. She needs to change her hairstylist though…
Subbaraju looks handsome as ever but for some reason, he has imbibed Mahesh Babu in his expressions, body language and dialogue delivery. It looks like the ‘Pokiri’ effect is still strong on him. He is a naturally talented and high caliber actor so if he just does his own bit, that will give him great results. But it is good to see an elevated character for him in the film.
Banerjee was good, Uttej was apt, Surya was brief, Junaid did his bit as required, Siva Reddy was not used to his potential, the others tried to contribute in their own way.
Final Analysis:
The film takes off on an interesting note but then it fails to get the audience into the flow. The key flaw in the entire movie is the weak direction. The presentation was somewhat okay but the narrative was poor.
Dialogues were strictly okay, script was average and the screenplay was not upto the mark. Since the storyline is known, a lot depended on how the characters are etched and what is the intensity they are showing to attract the audience into the film.
Though the lead cast gave spirited performances, it didn’t work that much due to the lack of depth in their characters. Editing was abrupt, background score was convincing but it could have been avoided at some scenes. Songs opened very well but lost grip in between, the ‘Anjaneya Stotram’ was impressive.
The film will have good openings at many centers due to the presence of Krishnudu and also due to the interesting combination of Subbaraju and Krishnudu. However, it would take some aggressive publicity and positive word of mouth for the film to sustain decent collections.
Bottomline: Just okay, could have been much better

It is also heard that the screenplay is quite different from the usual flicks. The expectations are high on this one due to various reasons and the Tollywood folks are hoping that the summer ends with a super hit at the box office. Good luck to ‘Vedam’ and team.

Reel Buzz: Dil Raju Killed 'Maro Charitra'
It was with a fair amount of hype that the film ‘Maro Charitra’ was announced but with passing time, the heat was lost. But the expectations were high since it had the tag of Dil Raju attached to it. However, it appears that the same tag seems to have turned the entire movie into trash.
Apparently, the film had no publicity and usually, Dil Raju claims to be script doctor but he lost it here completely. Perhaps he didn’t even bother to spend time on the script as he claims always. The material was weak and the publicity was very poor.
The moral of the story is that even if it is Dil Raju, a film needs proper publicity and apt content to appeal to the audience or else, flicks like ‘Maro Charitra’ or ‘Josh’ will keep coming in from the house of one of the most successful producers as well. Let us hope Dil Raju doesn’t repeat the same thing with ‘Brindavanam’ as well.

Manoj's ‘Bindaas’ Review: Action Entertainer
Manchu Manoj who is known for his variety performances has now arrived with yet another venture and this time, it is said to be another offbeat love venture. How different was it and whether Manoj is able to make a mark or not, let us see
Story
Set on the backdrop of Chittoor, there is a political/faction feud between Seshadri Naidu (Jayaprakash) and Mahendra Naidu (Ahuti Prasad). It gets violent so Mahendra Naidu gets all his relatives under his home so that they are not harmed.
They call Ajay (Manoj) as well but none of them like him due to a flashback of his father. Ajay meets Girija (Sheena), his ‘maradhalu’ and love sparkles.
Meanwhile, things get into further complications between both Naidus so Ajay decides it is time to resolve this.
How does he do that and whether he is successful or not forms the rest of the story…
Acting:
Manchu Manoj:
He is the life and soul of the movie. With an energetic performance, he did his bit but then his face looks exhausted and drained. Imitation of his father Mohan Babu was deliberately evident.
Sheena:
She has a sweet face and is fresh. Though she has an oomph filled body, it is her baby face that takes away the attention and she provided the required visual feast in songs and did her bit well for a debut attempt.
Ahuti Prasad:
Not much for him in terms of performance and he could carry it off easily without a hitch.
Jayaprakash Reddy:
He must have done this kind of role a hundred times by now so not much for him as well. Instead, there is no regular comedy from him that is usually his trademark in villainy.
Others:
Raghu Babu, Brahmanandam gave their share of laughs, Sunil was okay, Subbaraju and Supreeth did their bit as required. Paruchuri Venkateswara Rao was brief, the man doing Ahuti Prasad’s brother’s character has a strong screen presence, Banerjee, Kasi Vishwanath, master Bharath, Vennela Kishore, Telangana Sakunthala and the rest of them breezed in and out.
Interesting Dialogues/ Scenes:
* Manoj (with heroine): ‘Naaku rendu vishayalante chaala ishtam. Okati nuvvu…inkoti scenes lu kattirinchani englisu cinema..” (this dialogue has got huge response in theater)
* MS Narayana (as Muslim peer): pillavaadidi ekkada undi?
Sunil: pillavaadi daggare undandi (this also has got situational pun and brought loud laughs)
* Manoj’s action scenes are impressive
* The fight scene composed at water point is technically strong and emotionally in depth that pulled the attention of audiences strongly.
* Master Bharat’s performance
* Vennela Kishore did well but his role could have got extended
Disappointments:
Music
Analysis:
The movie takes off on a mediocre tone and runs pretty average in first half. The hook is not established with clarity till the interval. The momentum picks up in second half and the real comedy starts driving the narration. MS Narayana’s episode pumps in some comedy and the eventual flow goes with inspiration of films like Ready, Dhee etc.
The attempt to make a hilarious action entertainer is laudable but the execution part has suffered some ups and downs with screenplay. The dialogues are also not up to the conviction (especially the Brahmin Villain’s dialogues in climax has got no clarity and the language has gone out of bound suddenly) and at times failed to grip the interest levels of audiences.
This bumpy ride comes to an end with first half and second half takes to the climax smoothly.
On a whole, it’s a movie for audiences those come to theaters without any expectations.

My parents keep me grounded: Tamanna
A glow with the success of Kanden Kadhalai — the Tamil remake of Jab We Met, pretty Tamanna Bhatia is all set to romance T-town and Allu Arjun in a big ticket flick.
“It’s made by the same production company that has churned out hits like Magadheera, Ghajini and Jalsa. I’m looking forward to acting with Bunny,” she says with relish. “He’s such a brilliant dancer. It should be fun working with him,” she says.
Tamanna, the current toast of Kollywood, had a lukewarm T-town outing in 2009, when neither Konchem Ishtam Konchem Kashtam with Siddharth nor the bilingual Veedokkade (with Suriya) hit BO gold. While Veedokkade’s Tamil original was a blockbuster, did the lukewarm response to the dubbed film dent her confidence? Tamanna stumps us with her fluent Telugu and says that henceforth she’s “going to dub for all my Telugu movies”.
After the rave reviews she received for Kanden ... where she reprised Kareena’s role, does she have any Bollywood dreams? “Right now I am concentrating only on Tamil and Telugu films,” she insists.
As far as the remake of Jab We Met is concerned, Tamanna confesses she “felt pressurised, as comparisons were inevitable. And I’m glad I could pull it off. I think it is because we did not deviate much from the original,” she quips. But she’s also quick to point out that “it took Kareena eight years in the industry to deliver such a performance”, while Tamanna is “relatively new.”
Tamanna is now doing Thillalangadi with Jayam Ravi which is the Tamil version of the Telugu film Kick. “I admire Ileana, but I am sure I can pull it off in my own style, she asserts.
In an industry where catfights are common, Tamanna is friendly with her female colleagues. “I’m close to Poonam Bajwa, Vedika, Kajal, Priyamani and Ileana. I share notes with them about their work. It keeps me clued about the industry,” she reveals.
That 20-year-old Tamanna is chaperoned by her parents is not news, but she says it has a huge plus point too: “My parents keep me grounded. I work round the clock and they are my support system.” She’s now doing BA and says that she has “been able to balance both studies and work.
”
Tamanna also has a big banner Telugu film on hand, and Tamil films like, a remake of Vikramaditya with Karthi, a yet-to-be-titled flick with Dhanush, Sura with Vijay and Paiyaa with Karthi again.
On rumours that she’s starring opposite Ram Charan Tej in the Telugu remake of Paiyaa, she sets the record straight saying that she’s not “been approached for the film, but would love to take it up.”

'Seetaramula Kalyanam Lankalo' Review
Film: Seeta Ramula Kalyanam Lankalo
Rating: 3/5
Banner: Wellfare Creations
Star Cast: Nitin, Hansika, Sunil Panda, Brahmanandam, Ali, Jayaprakash Reddy, Suman, Subbaraju, M S Narayana, Venu Madhav, Satyam Rajesh, Pragathi and others
Music: Anup Rubens
Cinematography: M Joshi
Fights: Ram - Lakshman
Editing: Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao
Director: Eshwar
Producer: Malla Vijaya Prasad
Release : 22/01/2010
Youth star Nitin is back again and yet again, he is trying his best to prove his mark at the box office. This time, he has got the beautiful Hansika as his leading lady and maybe, the support of the Telangana seekers as well. Is he successful this time or not? let us see
Story:
Chandu (Nitin) is a go getter and he is fearless. His eyes fall on Nandini (Hansika) and it is love at first sight for him. He woos her and finally wins her heart. However, Nandini’s factionist father Peddi Reddy (Suman) has got a rival in Veera Pratap Reddy (Sunil Panda) who falls in love with Nandini. He takes her forcibly to his place Allagadda. Chandu gets to know this and goes to that place to rescue her. How does he do that? Is he successful or not forms the rest of the story.
Performances:
Nitin
No change in his body language, same strained expressions. But he has tried to show ample improvement in dance. The steps were received with huge applause. But some commented that it has become superfluous.
Hansika
Pretty as usual and proved her mettle in the glamour and oomph department. No doubt, she is the apple pie beauty. But then, she must fine tune her mannerisms and expressions during serious scenes, that will give a good impact.
Sunil Panda
Except screaming his lungs out and flexing his muscles, there was not much he had to do. He has a good screen presence so he can look at having few more lines in his script.
Brahmi
He is coming up with the routine role and as usual he had a lengthy one to play this time. There were few scenes where he was good, overall, an average score in terms of bringing humor.
Jayaprakash Reddy
The standard choice for uttering those ‘Seema’ slang dialogues, he is regular and yes, he justifies his role.
Others
Ali was effective, M S Narayana was hilarious, Venu Madhav was brief, Suman came and went, Subbaraju was very good, he showed a different image of his. Pragathi was regular, so was Chandramohan. Suman has no adequate scene to show. The others didn’t have much to offer.
Technical Aspects:
Songs were well taken but ‘Kiss Me’ was the best. Dialogues were good at few places, script was weak and the screenplay was okay. Background score was regular.
Cinematography was alright, editing was neat, costumes were good, art department made its presence felt.
Analysis:
The movie got hype an attention due to Telangana movement and agitators titling Nithin as ‘Telangana Mega Star’. Otherwise, the response wouldn’t have been this big for this flick.
The film runs on a routine track and it is the usual ‘brains vs brawns’ where hero is the most intelligent while the villain and his gun toting goons are a bunch of jokers who have the most minimum IQ levels.
However, Nitin was careful not trying to be the hero at all times and managing the show with a parallel track of comedy. If it was not for Subbaraju- Brahmi- Ali trio, the second half would have dipped further.
The first half was stale and routine with the regular elements of romance, comedy, fights etc and the second half was another routine with some saving comedy.
The film doesn’t have much to appeal to the masses or the classes. Except for the glowing skin of Hansika and the comedy track, the film is just another chip of the old block. This will sink at the box office.
