Tollywood Heroes Envy On Comedian Sunil

History has shown that the percentage of success for a comedian as a hero is very minimal. We have seen the likes of Ali, Brahmanandam, AVS etc trying their hand at becoming heroes but not being successful. However, here is one actor who seems to be breaking the jinx big time.

He is none other than Sunil and right now the hero turned comedian is going great guns with his career. Sources say many heroes are feeling envious about Sunil. For instance, Sunil is currently busy with his new movie ‘Poolarangadu’ and it is announced that the film will be released across 450 theatres worldwide.

This means that even if the film flops it will land in safe zone. It is heard that even ‘KSD Appalaraju’ the dud from Sunil got a whopping Rs 2.5 cr through satellite rights. Then Sunil has been roped in for another project titled ‘Ramudu Weds Seetha’. Already he has the much talked about ‘Napoleon’ on hand.

The cine pundits say “It is not about looks. Sunil is good not just at comedy but also in good action. He has nice mass acceptance and above all, he is a good dancer.” That’s Sunil for you folks.

Veerabhadram Is Behind Srinu Vaitla?

It is often noticed that when a director comes up with a set of consistent hits, he tends to be followed by a group of other directors. Right now, that is the talk happening in the filmnagar circles looking at the growing director Veerabhadram Chowdary.

They say “Veerabhadram seems to be taking the path of Srinu Vaitla. He came up with ‘Aha Naa Pellanta’ which was something like a Vaitla film. Now, inside sources say that his ongoing project ‘Poolarangadu’ also comprises of Vaitla style comedy. Next, he has teamed up with Nagarjuna and is coming up with ‘Bhai’.”

They add “Veerabhadram is growing quickly as a commercial director. Ultimately, success matters, that is also good but if he wants his image and brand to grow then he should create a mark of his own and come out of Vaitla image. Or else he will be termed as a routine director with no variety.”

Naga Chaitanya's 'Bejawada' Postponed!!

To all those who have been waiting for the arrival of the film ‘Bejawada’, they have to wait a little longer. It is heard that the film which was due for release on November 24th has now been postponed to December 1st. Speaking about it was one of the producers Kiran Kumar Koneru.

“This is yet another different movie from Ramu. Performance of Naga Chaitanya will be the highlight. RGV who gave a trendsetter film like ‘Shiva’ to Nagarjuna has given a career best film to Chaitanya in the form of ‘Bejawada’. His birthday is November 23rd and wishing him, we are releasing the film worldwide on December 1st.”

Naga Chaitanya is pairing up with Amala Paul in the lead and Ram Gopal Varma is one of the producers along with Kiran Koneru while Vivek Krishna is the director.

Big Hero's Family Kicks Out Astrology

It is often said that sentiments run high in the film industry and with film related people. So, it is natural that they show strong faith in things like astrology or numerology etc.

However, this might sound a bit unusual but the buzz is that one of the most powerful celebrities and noted film family is not keen on doing that.

They are the Bachchan family. Yes, news is arriving that the Bachchan household is not keen on going by astrology when it comes to the starting letter of the name for the new baby. Apparently, few noted astrologists have reportedly suggested that the name of Aishwarya Bachchan’s daughter should start with K.

However, it is heard that the Bachchans have decided that the name should start with the letter A. As such, there are many ‘A’s in the family with the likes of Amitabh, Ajitabh (Amitabh’s brother), Abhishek, Aishwarya so it is natural as to why they want the name to start with that letter. Anyways, let us wait for the official announcement on the baby’s name folks.

Is This Kamma-Kapu Clash Between 2 Heroes?

Rivalries among fans of big heroes are a common thing and it is also a common thing that most of these fan bases are formed on caste basis. Usually, it is the job of the heroes to put a control on the enthusiasm of the fans when they sense the frenzy is going out of control. However, this time, the situation seems something different.

Ever since the makers of the film ‘Dookudu’ have declared it as the biggest hit in Tollywood, it has not gone well with the team of ‘Magadheera’. As expected, some heat was exchanged between the fans of both heroes but now with few statements from Allu Sirish, it has become a rather personal matter.

Apparently, Sirish challenged in his twitter about the collections of ‘Magadheera’ vs ‘Dookudu’. More than the challenge of the films’ performances, few are saying this is looking like a clash between the Kamma and Kapu communities keeping the names of two heroes in between. As much as there is a need for the caste card to be removed, it seems to be getting more and more intense and deeper among few groups. Let us see what happens.

Pawan Kalyan - Brahmi in 'Paparayudu...'

Both are two of a kind. While one is the powerful superstar with strong following among the masses, the other is a performer whose mere presence will bring smiles to audience aged from 10 to 70. Imagine what happens when both of them come together for doing a stint.

We are talking about the duo of Pawan Kalyan and Brahmanandam. Now, it is heard that both are teaming up for a new assignment. This is not a new film but a song in the film which goes 'Paparayudu..'. Yes, this track is part of Pawan's new movie 'Panjaa' and it is heard that the track will have voices of Pawan and Brahmi in it.

The music for the album is composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja and it is heard that this song is going to be a highlight in the album. The audio release function is happening on November 19th so the combo of Pawan-Brahmi for 'Paparayudu..' will surely grab some attention.

Directors running away from Veteran actor Venkatesh

Veteran actor Venkatesh seems like he is caught in a dilemma of what to do and what not to, due to his age factor. Venkatesh was never in so much confusion in the past. He used to be crystal clear about his decision making and he is one of the few big stars who used to do films at a good rate.

In the recent times, he has been facing problems with decision making as his films are getting canceled at the last hour. He was supposed to do Savithri movie under Teja direction and that film was formally launched even. It was called off without any official note and Venky moved on to do Bodyguard remake.

Trivikram spent few months on Venkatesh's film script and finally came out to do Allu Arjun's movie. Dasarath too walked out and has committed to do a film with Nagarjuna in the lead. There are reports that Venkatesh has turned nonjudgmental and is confusing the directors without letting them know what he actually wants!

'Bezawada' Premiere plans in 'V'

The film 'Bezawada' has been causing quite a lot of ruckus since the time of its making. Anyways, the time has come for it to hit the screens and the expectations are high given the controversy it has generated. Now, another twist in the tale is the update about the premiere of the film.

Grapevine is making rounds in filmnagar that the producers are planning to hold a premiere in Vijayawada. A source from the camp revealed "They feel that this would be the apt venue given the flavour of the story and the connection with its roots. However, there is also another side which is stopping them from taking it positively forward."

"They fear that the element of risk is there if by any chance followers of Ranga or Nehru end up fighting inside the theatre itself. Of course, there is no reference about them in the film but due to the perception created, there is a possibility for this too. The decision will be taken in one or two days."

Beautiful Wife on figure correction

It is often conceived that Indian women tend to take it easy on their bodies once the first child is delivered. But the trend is changing among the urban women. The figure consciousness factor has increased and even ladies from corporate backgrounds are going through certain routines for keeping in shape.

So it is natural that someone from the film industry has to tone down after delivery. That seems to be the situation with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan right now. Sources say since the delivery process has happened smoothly, Aish is planning to take rest for few weeks and then get back to her routine of fitness.

While it is not sure whether she would take up films for a while, buzz is that the pretty lady is determined to regain her original shape as early as possible. While the excitement is still on to see the Bachchan Baby, there are those who say they are equally keen to see how the mommy looks.

Mahesh Babu gets shock from Big Hero

No one can dare say no to someone like Mahesh Babu and no one can go against him if he says no to something. That's why there is no exaggeration that he is called the prince of Tollywood. However, it appears that all this royalty is limited only till Tollywood and nothing works in Bollywood.

The reason we say this is after hearing an update from Mumbai. It is heard that the stage was set for Mahesh's 'Dookudu' to be remade in Hindi and this was to have Salman Khan in the lead. However, sources reveal that after going through all the necessary formalities, discussions etc, Salman has dumped the project.

Buzz is that Salman who has done nearly five to six films as a cop didn't want to repeat the same act. Moreover, he is also arriving with another cop flick in the form of 'Dabangg 2'. So, he has taken this decision, as per sources. However, buzz is that Salman's decision has come as a shock not just to Mahesh but also to the 'Dookudu' team.

Jagan's health secret: No wine, no non-veg

The way YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy has been extensively touring all parts of the state round the clock without showing any kind of tiredness in his face and talk has been a real enigma to the political or media observers.

According to health experts, one would require a lot of self-control in food habits, besides maintaining the balance of emotions.

Sources said the secret of Jagan’s health is his tremendous control over the food habits. First of all, Jagan does not booze; and that is the biggest factor for good health and mental alertness.

Secondly, Jagan avoids eating non-vegetarian food and also oily stuff as long as he is touring. May be, he will relish the non-vegetarian stuff once he comes back to Hyderabad for rest, but he controls his food-intake strictly during his tour period. He mostly eats fruits and fruit juices that keep him mentally and physically fit during the tour.

In this aspect, Jagan is following the foot steps of his father Y S Rajasekhara Reddy. He, too, used to be strict vegetarian when he was on tours. Before becoming the Chief Minister, YSR used to have a peg or two with his close friend K V P Ramachandra Rao, but after taking reins of the state, YSR stopped boozing and had a lot of control over food. That was why, he used to be very healthy and mentally strong!

Get set for Rs 4-crore set for Manoj film!

In these days of graphics dominating the film making, it requires a lot of guts for the producers to spend huge money on erection of costly sets for shooting.

Manchu Lakshmi Prasanna, the dynamic daughter of legend actor Mohan Babu, has once again shown that she has the guts.

The latest film being produced by her – “Voo Kodatharaa, Vulikkipadathaara..” starring her brother Manchu Manoj, is going to have a such a magnificent “fort” set.

According to the grapevine, the vast and elegant “fort” being erected at Manikonda cost more than Rs 4 crore for the producers. This fort has been painted twice, first in pale color to look like a worn out one and next in rich colour to depict its rich past and shot in two spells. It has so far been the costliest set ever built in the Telugu film industry; and those who pass by the set in Manikonda have thought it was an original fort.

By the way, senior hero Balakrishna is playing a guest role of a king of bygone days in the film. The role resembles that of superstar Rajnikanth played in “‘Chandramukhi.” Balakrishna appears as a king, when the hero’s past is recalled.

Puri Jagannath's Shocking Line On Women

No one knows in what context Puri Jagnnath said this line. But RGV made it a public statement posting on twitter much to the delight of many men and to the curse of some women.

Here is the line that was posted by RGV stating that it’s Puri’s statement.

“I just so wish women appear in the night and disappear in the morning”-Poori Jagan

Indeed, for the men those feel women are just for excitement, enjoyment and ‘experience’, this line appears to be a hymn from Holy Book. But for women, it will be tickling their ego and sounds like a satanic verse.

Well, let us take it as a fun and not dig deep with serious thoughts.

TV Reality Shows Gobble Navadeep's Film Chances

Smart hero Navadeep is now caged in anchor’s role. Though he is found deeply engrossed in anchoring “Super,” one of the popular reality shows being aired on ETV, he seems to be regretting for the same.

After signing this programme, no one has offered a hero role in films.

On the other hand, offers have been pouring in for him many small screen managers for the anchor shows of similar kind.

All said and done, Navadeep has received kudos for performing this job with an amazing ease. He adds glamour to the show by bringing not-so-faded heroines to the show.

The glassy eyed hero, however, is unable to come to terms with reality in spite of his irrevocable involvement in the given realty show. He is still hopeful of donning a hero role on big screen. Of course, he is young enough for long wait.

None To Beat That Hot Newsreader Even Now

The presence of news channels on TV and the impact they have on the lives of people needs no introduction. While many tend to watch the channels for the latest updates and catching up with news, there is a good reason why one channel in particular tends to get maximum attention. The reason for that is the newsreader.

We are talking about the I-News channel and the person in focus is Roja. Fondly known as I-news Roja, she has become a major attraction for many TV viewers. They say “Reading news everybody does but visual appeal also matters and I-news Roja is doing very well in that department as well.”

They add “She is dignified, photogenic and very pleasant. Whenever we happen to see her on screen we stop shifting to other channels. We cannot resist changing the channel even if something interesting comes in other TV channels. Though there are other beauties like TV 5 Sumitra, the charming presence of I-News Roja is different.”

Hurray! Aishwarya Rai Blessed With A Girl!

The baby, Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya's first child, was born at the Seven Hills Hospital.

"IT'S A GIRL!!," Abhishek, 35, posted on micro-blogging site Twitter.com.

The proud grandfather Amitabh too couldn't control his happiness and tweeted: "I AM DADA to the cutest baby girl, A dada ji ... Ecstatic."

Aishwarya, 38, had been admitted to the hospital Monday night, according to her spokesperson.

Imitating Directors Cannot Make Their Mark

The art of imitation has been quite common in the cine circuit. Be it stories, mannerisms of actors or locations, the presence has been strong. However, imitation forms do not stand in the long run. And the experts say this is very true in the case of directors.

For instance, talented director Harish Shankar is usually keen on making films in Puri Jagannadh’s style. Same with Bollywood maker Shimit Amin who tries to do films in Ram Gopal Varma way. Then comes Gopichand Malineni who tries to imitate Srinu Vaitla style and Srinivas Reddy who follows the path of EVV.

The analysts say “Imitating originally talented directors is not a fruitful option. This gives only temporary success. That is why, the likes of Trivikram Srinivas, Rajamouli, Sekhar Kammmula, Teja have a different impact. They have set a trend. Trying to imitate them is no use. As such, they have a long run. Look at Krishna Vamsi and RGV. They still make films irrespective of their performance at box office. So, trying to have an individual mark is important for any director and imitation won’t work.

Why Police Love Catching Film Celebs?

The film industry is one place where entertainment, glitz and glamour go hand in hand. Most importantly, it is the recognition and fame that individuals get which makes it attractive. However, there is also a flip side to it. Those who are not part of the cine circuit do their best to associate with the cine folks for their own reasons.

One such department is the police department and most importantly, it is the traffic and task force police. Apparently, there are several instances when cops love to catch celebs and there are two key reasons for that.

They do it not for money but for credibility among public and their seniors. The impression that police is not sparing even celebs gives a very positive impression about the cops on civilians. As for the seniors, they would make a note that the cops are doing their duty perfectly. So, it really works when celebs are caught. However, it is also the responsibility of the celebrities to be within their lines. They are the most known faces in society and also the role models. Getting caught by the cops is something embarrassing.

Ace Directore Rajamouli Reveals About 3D Project With Tarak

The talk among cine folks and Nandamuri fans is that the one person who can use the potential of Junior NTR to the fullest is director S S Rajamouli. Since then, speculations have been rife about both coming together for a project. Recently, an updated rumour was about a 3D project in pipeline.

Buzz was making rounds that the tough taskmaster was teaming up with young tiger for a new project. However, Rajamouli has revealed the truth about it in his twitter account. The tweet goes - Sorry to disappoint. Wrong news again, Haven't planned any film in 3D or with Tarak yet..

As clear as it looks, Rajamouli has quashed this as baseless rumour and reiterated his stand clearly. So, the much talked about project is most likely never to happen or not happening for a long time.

'B**CH' Is Acceptable Word In Tollywood?

The word 'B**ch' seems to be the most accepted word in Tollywood. The word is not being considered for a CUT by Censor Board. In the film Mogudu, Tapsee calls Shradhdha Das a 'b**ch'. And also in 'Oh My Friend', Shruthi Hasan was called a b**ch by a character. But they were not CUT.

In actual sense, B**CH, as per dictionary means 'a female dog'. But colloqually it is being used to connote 'whore' in many societies. Because, a female dog mates with several male dogs!!

But still, Censor Board loves the word and is not considering to CUT!! Strange!!

What Is Directore Ravi Babu Thinking?

Allari Ravi Babu can be called as the new wave film maker for his innovative thoughts and creativity onscreen.

He scored a blockbuster with ‘Allari’ and made a mark of his own. He also came up with ‘Ammayilu Abbayilu’ in a similar genre. While all that is one side, here is an interesting twist.

His latest offering ‘Nuvvila’ got a good talk but reports say there are no thumping collections. So, many are waiting to see how is he going to plan his next film. Usually, Ravi Babu’s signature style of movies are youthful or concept based or spine chilling thrillers.

The trade pundits say “For the first time this has happened through ‘Nuvvila’ that the talk has come very good but collections are not equal. As such, his films have good following among all genres of audience so it will be a challenge of sorts for Ravi Babu when he is planning for his next film. Maybe he can consider some strong post release publicity with his team and get ‘Nuvvila’ to hit mark.”

Pornography On TV Channels

There was a time when television was a great source of entertainment and relaxation. But thanks to the overflowing news channels and the obsession with reality shows in other channels, it has become a medium of causing stress and pressure removing all possible human values.

Now, in the name of reality shows, the TV channels are getting into further boldness. The focus is on the shows like ‘Bigg Boss 5’. Apparently, there are episodes where the lady participants flaunt their curves and come up with wet shower scenes. Now, this show has been inspired from the ‘Big Brother’ reality show quite popular in western countries.

Reports say that the episodes there are getting steamier as live coverage of participants involving in sexual acts and intimacy are being shown. Now, the observers here are saying that looking at the trend, it will not be a surprise if the same level of pornography will be seen in our reality shows in the next five years or so. Sad but true…

Funny Cartoon In Circulation about IT Professionals

India is one country which takes the toughest situation with a pinch of humour and creativity.
Here is one such example. A funny cartoon has been making crazy rounds and this is the interaction between a petrol can and an IT professional.
While the petrol can seems to be beaming with pride over its hike, the IT professional stands nonplussed unable to answer the interesting question put by the petrol can. This is one satire which also has a valuable message to the government. Read and enjoy folks!

SRK joins the league of extraordinary gentlemen

With his latest release RA.One, Shah Rukh Khan has gained entry into the exclusive billion-rupee Club of Bollywood.

The film has grossed over Rs 100 crore in India, giving SRK entry into an elite club already consisting of stars like Aamir Khan (Ghajini, 3 Idiots), Salman Khan (Dabangg, Ready, Bodyguard) and Ajay Devgn (Singham).

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh says, "RA.One has grossed almost Rs 112 crore in its Hindi version in the first two weeks. Today, he too is part of the Billion Club; that has now become the parameter with which a film's box office business is judged."

Trade pundit Komal Nahta, adds that he never doubted that the film would cross the 100-crore mark. "I was very confident it would cross that mark. In fact, I was expecting it to happen in the first week itself considering the number of shows and screens, but it happened the week after. The film makes you realise the kind of business big budget films can do if you have a five-day weekend."

Nahta continues, "It's a recent phenomenon in the last three years that big films like 3 Idiots, Dabangg, Ghajini, and Singham have done such huge business. Though My Name Is Khan was a huge hit and the highest grosser abroad, it did not enter the Billion Rupees Club in India. There was no doubt that SRK would enter this club with his next film. By all accounts, RA.One is expected to do business of approximately Rs 125 crore in net collections in its Hindi version alone."

So ultimately, the question is whether SRK will make a profit on the film or not. Avers Nahta, "Yes, he will. It's a win-win situation for SRK and all involved in the film."

I'm proud of my porn collection: RGV

Ram Gopal Varma is controversy's favorite child. Rather, the filmmaker courts controversy like a lover would woo the woman he's besotted with. It comes as no surprise then that the recent flick under his banner, " Bejawada" has ruffled a lot of feathers.

And in the typical manner in which an RGV story unfolds, the director has now been getting death threats. Now, the contentious suffix "Rowdilu," has been dropped from the title, but controversy surrounding the film just refuses to die. "Speculations are rife because of the title. Unlike " Raktha Charitra", I've never said that I am basing this film on the lives of real people. It is director Vivek Krishna's story and I never said that it is based on anybody," clarifies RGV.

But this isn't a first for the filmmaker who loves to kick up a storm. Almost all his movies have a strong foundation on controversies. For an observer, it's pretty clear - a successful publicity strategy. "When you are making a film on contentious subjects, naturally everybody will have an opinion. It's just that no one else has tried to do it. It is the public interest in the subject matter that creates controversies and not the film by itself," argues the director.

But if you thought that after all the mini storms in the tea cup, the film maker would refrain from the hullabaloo, then you are wrong. For Ram Gopal Varma, controversies are nothing but mere 'entertainment'.

"I find it (controversies) very entertaining, and I am sure the media thinks the same about it too," he says with a know-it-all smile. But being called all sorts of derogatory names must get under his skin at some point? "Well, I've been called names all the time. The media calls me Ramu. After a point, you just lose sensitivity to it. The fact that I just do not care seems to accentuate the point," he explains.

Having said that, one however, wonders how can someone be so oblivious to criticism that comes his way almost all the time? Aren't most filmmakers known to be the 'please-all' types? "Well, I give a f**k about anybody. I make films because I love it and I want people to watch them. Whether they like it or not is another thing altogether. I am basically pushing my vision down their throats. Sometimes they might swallow it and sometimes they might just puke it out," he quips.

The industry has always been kind to success. Is that the reason why most people tend to forgive him for his jibes and remarks? "For me, success is about being able to get up in the morning and doing whatever you want to do until you go back to bed at night.

By that definition, I have been successful from the time I was five years old," he says in typical RGV style. Now that leads to the question, what happened when he was five? "My mother dropped me on my head," he retorts, poker face. Maybe, that was his eureka moment. "I don't believe in God or religion. I don't have any commitments and have never donated a single rupee for a cause. In short, I have done nothing that a good human being is supposed to do, yet I am able to do whatever I want to do. I just enjoy every second of my life because I know exactly who I am and what I want."

So how does RGV enjoy 'every single moment'? "It is all about pleasing my senses - be it listening to music, making films or looking at a beautiful woman," he says. And he doesn't stop at that. For the maverick, material possessions too are of utmost importance. "My most valuable possession is my collection of porn," he says without twitching a facial muscle. One can't help but take the liberty of asking if there are any specific preferences in that department. "It's hard to classify porn, you see," he retorts.

With so many movies under his belt, one can't help but ask why hasn't he made a love story yet. "I want to make a love story soon. It will be gritty and will break all conventions about how love stories are made traditionally," he says.

"I live for today and don't think about yesterday unless it's about reliving a pleasurable memory. I don't think about tomorrow because I want it to surprise me, if it doesn't, I will try to surprise myself, I live like that," he says before signing off.

'KBC 5' nears end, Big B emotional

With the finale of " Kaun Banega Crorepati 5" being aired next week, Amitabh Bachchan says it is hard to say goodbye to the popular game show.

"The recording for the finale for KBC took place today (Thursday) and it took an entire day to do so. It has been an exceptional season this year and when one leaves such environs there is bound to be a deep feeling of not wanting to depart. All the little little things that made up these extraordinary days on set was of a very distinguished quality," Big B posted on his blog Bigb.bigadda.com.

The last episode of season five, which started Aug 15, will be aired Nov 17.

"A routine had been set, people worked to maintain a sense of togetherness in all these days. And today one had to say our 'bye byes'. Tough when you have to do this, but I guess you must bury the old so that the new prosper. The new will indeed take over, and should. But in a most deserving and disciplined manner," he added.

The 69-year-old had made his small screen debut with "Kaun Banega Crorepati" way back in 2000. And since then, the megastar has hosted four out of five seasons. The third edition was hosted by Shah Rukh Khan .

The first three seasons were aired on STAR Plus, but from the fourth season it was telecast on Sony with Amitabh as the host.

With the underlying belieft that 'Koi insaan chhota nahi hota', this season saw people from India's interiors participating. Of them, Sushil Kumar won Rs.5 crore and Anil Sinha Rs.1 crore but there were many others who won large sums of money, fulfilling their lifelong dreams.

Thanks to all this and Amitabh's mass connect, the show managed to generate the highest rating of a non-fiction show by registering 7.2 TVR (television rating) and 8 TVR for two episodes when 'aam admi' Sushil Kumar won the Rs.5 crore jackpot.

It was telecast in two parts and reached out to 25 million people on Nov 1 and 27 million people Nov 2 respectively.

Katrina Kaif: I'm no toon

A filmmaker recently approached Katrina Kaif with an offer to feature in an animation film - she'd not just be doing the voiceover but the lead character would also be named after her.

An unconvinced Kat gave the offer a royal snub.

Rockstar Hindi Movie Review

Leave it to Imtiaz Ali to take a love story and present it in a manner that's completely different from run-of-the-mill Bollywood. Romance, under his creative vision, becomes a multi-layered, sensitively nuanced, monumental experience which has more to do with serenading your soulmate rather than a stereotypical marriage partner. With intelligent entertainers like Jab We Met, Love Aaj Kal and now Rockstar, he is evolving as a new age Yash Chopra. Love literally smoulders under his narrative, albeit in a completely modern idiom.

The highpoint of Rockstar is it's high tension, high-on-passion romance between two unlikely people: the completely low brow JJ who doesn't like his girls nice and clean and Heer (Nargis Fakhri), the uptown Stephenian who is all set to get married and settle down to sweet domesticity like all sweet girls do. Their relationship begins when both of them display a yen for the wicked and wild side of life and ignite the bohemian lifestyle by watching a show of Junglee Jawani in a seedy Delhi theatre. Before she gets nice and clean, Heer wants to play real dirty and JJ is more than willing to play the rule-breaker rogue with her. Great bonding, which gets even greater when the two realise it's time to kiss.... It is a love that transcends all social barriers, decimates all conventions and ends with a spiritual promise to meet in the field that exists beyond the concept of right and wrong (Rumi).

The fact that this romance unfolds on screen in the form of an explosive musical, capturing JJ's transmutation into Jordan, the edgy artist, makes the film an absolutely engaging affair. The vocals by Mohit Chauhan, the lyrics by Irshad Kamil and the music by AR Rahman are stuff classics are made of. Of course, Sadda Haq is the youth anthem by now, but there are so many beautiful tracks in the film, you get heady and stirred. Ranbir Kapoor displays an amazing growth chart as a performer as he gradually changes from a two-sizes-too-tight jean-clad upstart to a musical genius seared by a love that threatens to scorch his very soul. Nargis Fakhri too stands tall as the delectable Heer who sizzles on screen with her unconventional ways. But eventually, the film is a milestone in Ranbir Kapoor's career as an actor and a classic cut from the AR Rahman and Mohit Chauhan combo. Shammi Kapoor's presence as the classical artist enhances the gravitas of the film.

Savour a beautiful experience. Watch Rockstar and wait for Imtiaz Ali's next from his compendium of love.

Taj Mahal will turn blue on Sunday night

The Union health ministry and anti-diabetes activists have managed to convince the Archeological Survey of India (ASI) to give permission to light up the Taj Mahal to spread awareness against a disease that affects nearly 51 million Indians.

The ASI has cleared a proposal to illuminate the Taj Mahal in blue on November 13, the eve of the World Diabetes Day. While a red ribbon is symbolic of HIV, a blue circle is the universal symbol of diabetes.

The ASI has also allowed two other world heritage sites - Agra Fort and Fatehpur Sikri - to be draped in blue. Indudhar Dwivedi, superintendent archeologist of ASI, Agra, said, "This is the first time the ASI has shown such a gesture to light up these three world heritage sites. We wanted to support the drive to raise awareness against diabetes that affects so many of us."

Dr Anoop Misra from Fortis Hospitals, which is part of the Diabetes Blue Fortnight programme being supported by the health ministry, Heal Foundation, Project Hope, N DOC and WHO, said, "Taj Mahal draped in blue will spread awareness about diabetes. The world's most recognized monument to be lit in blue will send a global message. It will help multiply preventive efforts several times."

Several other monuments will be lit up in blue to commemorate the World Diabetes Day. These include Old Fort, Red Fort, Qutub Minar and Humayun Tomb in the national Capital; Imambada in Lucknow; Manek Chowk and City Palace Ground in Udaipur; Sidhivinayak Mandir and CST Station in Mumbai; Sahniwada Fort in Pune, 13 Gates of Ahmedabad; Konark Temple in Orissa and Victoria Memorial in Kolkata.

Globally, several other iconic monuments will be lit in blue, including the Inverness Castle in the UK; Fountain Teatro Valli and Reggio Emilia in Italy; Bomb monument in Hiroshima; Union Square in San Francisco and CN Tower and Niagara Falls in Canada. The International Diabetes Federation (IDF) said last year, over 900 monuments and buildings in 84 countries were lit up in blue on the World Diabetes Day (November 14).

Diabetes was recognized as a serious threat in 2006, and in a landmark resolution passed by the UN General Assembly it became the first non-communicable disease to be recognized as a global threat back then. Till then, only communicable diseases had captured the world's attention despite non-communicable diseases accounting for over 60% of morbidity and mortality in the world.

For the first time, the UN also asked all member states to establish national policies on the treatment, prevention and care of diabetes.

9 Things men hesitate to tell women

Your relationship has entered its fourth year and the two of you have planned a romantic dinner to mark the occasion.

Everything was sailing smooth until you saw her come down the stairs in a dress way too skimpy for her, sporting an obnoxious hairdo and makeup like it's war paint. She flutters her eyelashes in hope of a compliment or two from you, and you comply awkwardly with a cliche like, "You look great, sweetheart".

Here are 9 such things (in random order) that men are all the time dying to say, but can't seem to get it out of their system.

1. How many digits in your salary: "What's your salary package," a question that every guy dreads and wishes to evade more than a question like "Are you gay?" They will inform you about a salary increment or a promotion at work but will never divulge the statistical details even if it is good. Dipti Sahu, a media professional, says, "Guys are competitive even with their partners and are wary to disclose details they feel will make us judge them. That's why they can never give definite answers and are always vague about their salary structure."

2. Why can't I earn more than you: We might have progressed into an era where we witness men and women succeeding in the professional sphere but regressive notions continue to exist. Dilasha Seth, a Business journalist, believes that somewhere the traditional notion of a man being the breadwinner and woman as the caretaker of the household still holds true. "They will not acknowledge a woman's success in public for the acceptance will injure their pride. On the face of it they might congratulate you but within, they battle with their own insecurity. A woman on the other hand basks in her man's success and can't help shout out from rooftops."

3. Just get over Mills and Boon: Women's choice of books and their blind devotion to certain authors have always irked men. Their helpless state further worsened by their inability to express it. Says Sayyed Naqvi, media professional, "It's not that we want our partners to be connoisseurs in literature or descendants of Shakespeare but I can never tell her to develop a sensible taste in her selection of books. She might take it otherwise"

4. Fantasising about another girl while in the act: Have you ever felt a vein of disconnect running through that intimate moment where you are in his arms and about to break into a romantic kiss? Rosy Xess, a freelance writer, feels that "guys cannot verbalise that their mental faculties are fixated on some other girl while being physically cosy with you."

5. Watch out dude, that's my girl!: Walking down a busy street, a man is always watchful of people that eye his girl, far less stray close to her. He is always prepared to shield her from sneering comments. The problem arises in articulating it. Says Saurav Mishra, a Bombay-based professional in business media "I feel my blood boil when someone passes an objectionable comment on my girlfriend. I hold myself from communicating it for I am afraid she might think I am trying to be a police every time."

6. Don't call me every five minutes: There are times when an overdose of 'love', 'care' and 'affection' intrudes his personal space making him claustrophobic. *Nihal Singh, an engineering student says, "It becomes tough for me when she expects a prompt reply to her every text and gets angry if I delay. I cannot tell her how much this bothers me as doing so would mean inviting more trouble."

7. Please let's not talk about my ex: This is indeed a sensitive chapter in one's life, the pages of which threaten to open up massacring details. Past is always sad and men are never really comfortable letting their partners take a peep for the fear of offending them.

8. I always know what to do: Guys, let's face it, are averse to confessing. The idea of opening up about a problem, whether a crisis in the family or a bad day at work, to their partners sends a tingle of unease down his back. Dipti Sahu, a media professional who is living in with her boyfriend for the last few years, feels that guys think they would be dubbed a loser if they sought their partner's help with anything. They see it as a challenge to their 'masculinity'.

9. Calling friends over without prior notice: Guys don't think twice before calling up their gang of friends over for a meal. The wife/girlfriend in question is notified on the same only at the penultimate moment when it gets too much to handle for him. Men don't realise that casually asking friends to drop by can make women go through a harrowing time deciding what to serve. And it obviously drives her barking mad!

Is your predicament listed here? Do share them with us.

Shocking Bridegrooms in Telugu Cinema

The Telugu film industry is one place which tends to run high on sentiments and sometimes, the sentiments also run for bad results. Right now, the cine pundits have come up with an interesting observation and this is about a particular set of titles and how they have flopped.

This is about the bridegrooms of Tollywood. Apparently, a film by name 'Pellikoduku' was made by Bapu earlier in 1994. This became a flop. This was followed by the film 'Varudu' and this was directed by Gunasekhar. Despite a lot of hype, the film turned out to be a massive dud.

Now, the latest we see is the arrival of the film 'Mogudu' directed by Krishna Vamsi and even this has resulted in a major flop. That way, all the titles of the film mean only one thing- bridegroom but all of them became flops. While the mystery behind that is not known, it really is a shocking outcome.

Dir Raju's Oh My Friend Review

Chandu (Siddharth) and Siri (Shruti Hasan) are thick childhood friends. While Chandu wanted to be a member of rock band, Siri is a classical dancer. Chandu’s father Kishan (Tanikella) feels that his son doesn’t have clarity on life unlike Siri who takes every step in life very carefully. Siri is in love with Uday (Navdeep), living in USA and they are to get engaged. Soon, Chandu too falls in love with his inter classmate Ritu (Hansika). With help of Siri, he succeeds in winning her love.

Time when everything is looking happy, all four are set on a journey to Kerala where Chandu has to attend a music competition. Things fall apart as misunderstandings creep on the friendship of Chandu and Siri disturbing the relation between Chandu-Ritu and Siri-Uday. Even parents of these two close friends misinterpret their relation as Love and Marriage as the only solution available. How did Chandu, Siri solve their problem? What kind of sacrifice did they make for the sake of society to realize on a friendship between boy and girl forms a meaningful climax..!

Values of the Movie OMF: Story conceived by Venu Sriram is less than wafer thin. His point was straight and the lock was between friendship between a boy, girl. What makes difference here is Venu’s stylish, innovative scripting. As a director, no where did he allow a lag or boring episodes to enter into narration. Tunes composed by Rahul Raj breezed new life and Mani Sharma’s background is very sensible. Cinematography by Vijay K Chakravarthy is top notch that brought enormous richness presented on screen. Editing by Marthand K Venkatesh is alright. Production values of ‘Dil’ Raju are the best.

Performance wise, Siddharth was rocking through out. This is definitely his best performance after ‘Bommarillu.’ Surprisingly Shruti has improved a lot in her histrionics as her Telangana dialect gave required punch to characterization. Hansika looked gorgeous sharing smart kisses from Sid but was definitely out of shape. Navdeep is perfect as a disturbed lover stuck in confused net of Friendship Vs Love. He played major role in climax scenes. Here is an answer on why Tanikella Bharani is called a best actor. Ali’s comedy in Kerala episodes was hilarious to some extent.

Out of the Movie OMF: When director has this kind of a single line rounded subject, obviously it is recommend for running of sub plots that would help the main plot narration get better and interesting. Venu’s thought was differently focused only on the four lead characters along with wonderfully worked out father-son family connection which is again linked to friendship. True that movie drops in pace occasionally but Venu’s research on scripting and ‘Dil’ Raju’s trademark touching scenes lifted emotions immediately. Venu has shown clarity and control on subject which was more felt in closing scenes.

Can a boy and girl be friends forever? Can society accept this kind of relation? What is the difference between Love and Friendship? These elements are always popular selling points for a movie. Youth would attract to such storylines with in no time. OMF is to easily cash on this sentiment as Venu delivered a decent product. As projection of same on the screen being absolutely stylish, it would be doubtful on how B & C centre audiences would embrace the flick. Nevertheless multiplex and urban viewers are to be certainly impressed. So, Box Office wise there is every chance of OMF having a good life.

At Lat : Youthfully Refreshing and a Feel Good Experience.

Media shows SM to Pregnant Actress

These are the days when a mole is made into a mountain hill by the TV news channels. While they are constantly on the lookout for some hot gossip, they tend to target the big guns in society. Notable among them is the Bachchan family and right now, the happening topic is the pregnancy of Aishwarya Bachchan.

While this was meant to be the hot topic for the entire nation, it is heard that the media has decided to show Special Mercy towards her. It is heard that the Broadcasters Association came together and worked out few guidelines in this issue.

As part of that, they are not going to run a scroll on breaking news band about Ash's delivery. They will go for a photo shoot or media interaction only on invitation. There will be no astrology predictions on Ash's baby. This move by the media is being termed as historic and many are hailing this thought.

bollywood actress, Bollywood celebrities,

Is Hot Genny not joining MAA because of that?

The last two days has been seeing quite a hustle bustle over the bubbly beauty Genelia. Apparently, the MAA folks are keen on taking action on Genny for not taking up membership and it is heard that instructions have been passed to implement a non-cooperation movement against her.

While that is one side, here is another side. Few of the cine sources from Mumbai reveal "There could be a reason why Genelia is not keen on taking up membership. A strong talk is on about Genny tying the knot with her boyfriend Ritesh Deshmukh later next year. And she is focusing more on Bollywood projects."

They add "Anyhow she would be quitting films once she gets married. So, she must be wondering why she must waste money by taking up membership. This is just a speculation coming from various corners but it is only Genny who knows the real reason behind her decision."

Top Producer Suresh Babu' frank revelations!!!

It is often said that Daggubati Suresh is one man who is straightforward with his thoughts and has a razor sharp analytical mind. Right now, he also holds a special position in the committee of the Tollywood producers and recently few initiatives have been taken to protect the Telugu film circuit.

While speculations were on about the ban of dubbed films etc, Suresh Babu came into the open and gave a clear picture. He reiterated that no one can ban any language film and clarified that only a limit is being imposed in the number of theatres the dubbed flicks should be released. Also, he made it clear that when no Telugu films are scheduled for release during festivals, the dubbed films are welcome.

Above all, Suresh reiterated that no resolutions have been passed so far and these are just few thoughts discussed. Few proposals have been forwarded to the government and are awaiting approval. This has put to rest the various speculations. The coming days will give a clear picture on the stand taken for dubbed films.

Mirchi Lady Sexes up Prabhas Film

Richa Gangopadhyay has learnt a lesson or two from her brief career. She has seen the ups and lows in this very short period. After making debut with Leader, she bagged two big films with big stars like Venkatesh and Raviteja. Although Nagavalli didn't live up to expectations, Mirapakay was a good hit.

Despite bagging a hit, Richa had to leave Tollywood due to lack of offers. In the meantime she did a couple of films in Kollywood. Now she is back in Telugu cinema industry with Prabhas's next film. Richa is working hard to make this opportunity count by doing a steamy act.

As per the buzz Richa Gangopadhyay will be playing a spicy role in this film which will eventually outshine Anushka, the other heroine in the film. Anushka's is more of a conservative role and Richa will have to handle the glamour department. She is working out rigorously to shed those extra kilos. Richa will be seen at her raunchiest best in this movie. Stay tuned for the show folks!

Jagan Mohan Reddy arrives for grilling session at CBI office

YSR Cong Chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has arrived at the CBI office in Hyderabad after being summoned in the disproportionate assets case. The CBI will also probe his involvement in the illegal mining scam and his connection with the Reddy Brothers.

Recently, a CBI team arrived at Jagan's Lotus pond residence near Banjara Hills in Hyderabad to evaluate his residence that has been in the news for its grandeur and sheer opulence.

Jagan was dragged to the illegal mining controversy after he was found to have dubious links to Gali Janardhan Reddy, the mining kingpin from Bellary.

Suriya And Aadi Tempting Telugu Heroes

Though it is not admitted or accepted, it must be said that Kollywood has given various forms of inspiration to Tollywood. Be it the music, the storylines, the narrations or the performances from actors, the Tamil folks have a native and natural appeal to their films which had a strong influence on Tollywood films.

Now, it is heard that two heroes have begun to tempt our young Tollywood guns. They are Suriya and Aadi. Already, Suriya created a new benchmark for performance through his recent release ‘7th Sense’ and Aadi is arriving with his period flicks ‘Aravaan’.

Due to this, they have set a penchant for period films. The cine folks reveal that many of our young heroes like Junior NTR, Ramcharan Tej, Allu Arjun, Mahesh Babu etc are getting tempted to do those kind of films. As such, Charan has done a stint through his ‘Magadheera’ but still he along with the others are keen on coming up with something more historic.

Reactions On RGV-Madhu Shalini Bond!!

The hottest and latest grapevine making rounds in the Mumbai circuit is about the latest fixation of Ram Gopal Varma. Incidentally, she is our very own Madhu Shalini. While Madhu makes her debut in Bollywood through Ramu’s ‘Department’, the gossip mills have been attaching her to the long list of Ramu’s muses.

However, this is not the true picture feel a few. A young director from Tollywood who is grabbing attention for his films said “Putting link to RGV and Madhu Shalini is absurd. It’s simple, someone recommended her to Ramu. He has seen the right talent and is convinced she suits the requirements of his character. Some are also asking why Ramu is following her on Twitter. Just because someone follows someone in twitter will they become friends? The twitter following is only if wavelength matches.”

He added “If Ram Gopal Varma is tagged as controversy’s favorite child and a lover of sexy beautiful women, there is also another side to him. He has been the best platform for encouraging talent. Right from low rung actors like Narsing Yadav, Tarzan to the raw talents like Abhimanyu Singh, Manoj Bajpai etc, Ramu made a silent impact on the careers of many.”

Whatever is right or not, one thing is sure. Ultimately, all this is a blessing for Madhu. Getting associated with a national icon like RGV and coming into news is a takeoff to stardom.

Hero Exposed, Heroine Sexposed, Audience...?

There are many aspects that come into the picture when a film is gearing up for release. The focus is on the hero, heroine, technicians etc and finally the attention is on the audience. Currently, one film has gone through those phases and the big moment of truth has arrived.

We are talking about the film ‘Mogudu’. Already, the public has seen the rugged masculine physique of Gopichand through the posters and stills. They have gone crazy over the voluptuous sexposing of Taapsee and Shraddha. There is already the mark of director Krishna Vamsi on this.

So, all eyes are on how the audience will react. The film is releasing today and the inside talk has been smooth. But given the varying taste of the viewer and the expectations they have on ‘Mogudu’, it will be a crucial thing. Let us wish ‘Mogudu’ makes his mark at the box office.

Another 'Hot' poster of The Dirty Picture

Sulagna Panigrahi : Red Hot Heroine

Hot Tollywood Singers 2nd Home ?

There is a common talk among many Telugu people that America has become the second Andhra Pradesh for them. Apparently, most of the happening cities in the US are filled with Telugus and many have emerged successful in their lives through talent and set a new benchmark for achievement.

Now, it is heard that USA has become the second house for another set as well. They are the singers of Tollywood. It is said that most of the times they are there in the US for and on an average, they are spending almost 6 months on American soil. This is due to some show or stage concerts.

A senior music director was talking about this when he said “Today, playback singing just for their brand. There is not much money in it. Even top playback singers are getting between 15k and 25k max. They are getting more in stage shows in America. There is some real good money in overseas performances. So, USA has become like a second home for them.”

Some of the most sought after names for such events are Raghu Kunche, Suneetha, Malavika, Geeta Madhuri, Srikrishna, Kousalya etc.

Young Hero Ram Charan Didn't Learn 'D' From Father

Balakrishna said, "Recently a young Telugu hero said that there is lack of talent in Telugu film industry which is unfortunate. I directly warned him asking him to shut his mouth. He should not speak without knowing the history of Telugu cinema".

Indeed, it is clear indication that he implied Ram Charan who spoke in 7th Sense audio release praising Tamil circuit and putting down the Telugu directors' talent.

On the other hand, Ram Charan is coming into news for wrong reason. Recently, he also attacked Dasari Narayana Rao. When Dasari said that Telugu heroines are not attending award functions, Ram Charan tweeted in support of heroines stating, "So called great directors are now confined to only speeches and lectures on stages. It is sad that they can't move anything but their mouth."

Many have condemned this as Ram Charan is too young to use such expression on Dasari.

We have to see where this new Balakrishna-Ramcharan feud ends. TV channels are roaring with this issue at present. Many are saying that Ram Charan learnt dance from his dad but didn’t learn the ‘diplomacy’ in speech to be in good books of public and media.

Ravi Babu's 'Nuvvila' Review: Enjoyable

Banner: Usha Kiron Movies
Cast: Ajay, Havish, Prasad, Yami Gautam, Remya Nambeesan and others

Ravi Babu who is known for his innovative style of storytelling and this time, he has teamed up with prestigious Usha Kiron banner and a team of fresh faces. Let us see how this is-

Story:
This is a story of three youngsters- Anand (Ajay) is a kind hearted guy who tends to have an element of confusion everytime. Mahesh (Havish) is an aspiring model and he wants to strike it big.

Raja (Prasad) is an aspiring musician and wants to become a big violinist. The trio becomes friends as they work at the same pizza joint. Now, Anand is in love with Archana (Yami) but he never expresses it to her directly. Mahesh has a fight with his girlfriend Madhavi (Sarayu) and he gets chased by a secret admirer.

Raja considers his classmate since school Rani (Remya) as a bad luck for him. The story takes a turn when Anand discovers Archana is in love with someone else, Mahesh gets caught with a gay (Haleem) and Raja ends up marrying Rani. What happens from there forms the rest of the story.

Performances:
Ajay has come up with a decent performance but he could have shown little more energy though his role is sober. Overall, he gave a contained performance.

Havish brought few smiles. He is handsome and has shown confidence with comfortable body language but he needs to work on his dialogue delivery. Of course, it suited him here in this role.

Prasad was a show stealer. More because of his cute looks and for the energy levels he shows. Also, being an actor from Mumbai he has dubbed for his own voice which is appreciated.

Yami was really yummy. She is a perfect package of attractive looks, bubbly energy and good glamour. She was equally good when it came to emotional scenes. She has potential.

Remya is the senior most among the lead cast. She has done her role with finesse and has a cute look. She has a confident appeal in front of the camera and can take up challenging roles.

Sarayu was brief but she has a good sex appeal and is a familiar face to the TV audience. She has expressive eyes and carried her role with ease.

Ravi Babu was there for some entertainment. Haleem was good. Devaa was alright. Sudhakar Raju was matured. Radha Kumari was funny. The others did their bit as required and added value.

Highlights:

Performances from the lead cast
Narration
Comedy
Good pace

Drawbacks:

Anti climax
Logical loopholes in script
Lack of branded actors
Few concepts crossed limits

Analysis:
Ravi Babu is one film maker who strongly believes that more than the actors it is the story which is important. Hence, the quality of content in his movies is usually good. Of course, it doesn’t mean he comes up with variety. It is the same formula but packed in a different and entertaining manner. As such, he is a good story teller and at the same time a crafty technician.

Above all, he is aware of how to tap the pulse of the college going audience. And given the low costs that involve his projects, he is obviously a good choice for few producers.

While all this is one side, there comes a point when as a filmmaker he should look at justifying the concept and reason behind his plot. For instance,

The track between Ajay-Yami talks about parents being too broadminded. This would have been convincing if the parents had done that on a compromising note rather than a welcoming note.
There are instances when it is obvious to the audience that the film is made on a shoestring budget. This tends to hamper the production values.

Overall, this is a film which has good entertainment, required masala and enough ingredients to keep the audience engrossed throughout the film. As for the viewers, all genres of them would connect to it easily. Given the budget and cost of making, the film will surely rake in profits and this will be a very successful venture at the box office. But then it is time for the lead cast to come and do the post release promotion.

Bottomline: Youthful and entertaining, watch it once

Plight Of Rajasekhar - Jeevitha

They are called as one of the noisiest couple in Tollywood and once in a month, they make it a point to be seen in the prime TV news channels for some reason or the other. They are the duo of Rajasekhar and Jeevitha. But right now, a hot talk is happening on the couple and it is about their future in politics.

A noted cine member who is close to the couple revealed “It can be said that the political future of Rajasekhar- Jeevitha is in darkness. Being in congress, they blasted Chiranjeevi. Then they tried a stint or two with TDP which didn’t work out. Then they blasted Jagan and came out of YSR Congress. That way, they don’t seem to have a good rapport with any political party now.”

The source added “Though they are trying to dabble with films, not much success is happening. But if they have to make their presence felt, either they should compromise with any political party or come with good films. In a way, they can opt for TDP since the party is growing weak and they might need some controversy making people like Rajasekhar-Jeevitha. But will Naidu look for such things?”

Producer's Fitting To Siddhu

When it comes to Siddarth, there is no doubt that he is a bundle of talent and has a very charming presence onscreen. However, it appears that there is a shade of grey once he is off the screen. Apparently, the actor fails to realize his true market value given the results of his past few films.

Anyways, a talk making rounds in filmnagar is that Sidz had quoted a whopping Rs 4 crores as remuneration for his project with director Nandini Reddy being produced by Bellamkonda Suresh. However, it is heard that Bellamkonda was cheesed off by hearing that and literally walked out. But then, the update is that Sidz reduced his figure and settled for Rs 1.25 crores.

Inside talk is that Siddarth had no qualms in quoting the hiked fee. Sources say it was due to the intervention of a big producer that mediating happened and Sidz was offered Rs 1.25 crores along with overseas rights. The shooting will commence soon.

The cine folks who heard this also add “Siddarth did something similar with ‘Oh My Friend’ and took the overseas rights along with remuneration. However, he had to give it away to producer Dil Raju for around Rs 70 lakhs. Still, he is busy publicizing that Dil Raju was so impressed that he bought back the overseas rights.”

Top Bollywood Heroine refuses to return to sets

The shooting of Ileana's Bollywood debut film 'Barfee' is getting delayed. This film which also stars young heartthrob Ranbir Kapoor and sensuous beauty Priyanka Chopra is facing date problems.

Actually, Priyanka Chopra has to return to the sets by the end of October. But, due to her prior commitments she couldn't adjust her dates now. The actress has informed the makers that she would only be able to allot fresh dates for the film in January 2012. All these developments have been causing severe inconvenience to her co-stars and the film unit. Ranbir Kapoor is using this unexpected break, by keeping himself busy with the promotions of his upcoming film 'Rockstar'. On the other hand, Ileana left to her come to spend some quality time with family.

Already the film unit has completed the shooting of a schedule in July without Priyanka. Now, the remaining scenes are combination ones, which require all the three lead actors to be available. Director Anurag Basu's plans to convince Priyanka didn't turn fruitful as she refused to return to the sets of 'Barfee' before January. Let's hope 'Barfee' releases soon and gives a much required boost to Ileana's career!!!

Mega Family banks on MD Sentiment

The fact that sentiments run very high in the film industry is an open secret. While some of them admit it, some don't but display it. Right now, one sentiment seems to be making rounds in the filmnagar circles and this is the one that the mega family has.

Well, it is heard that the mega family has a strong sentiment that if Devi Sri Prasad is the music director for their film then it will become a hit. True to their belief, it is now heard that Ramcharan Tej has got Devi Sri as the music director for his new film with director Vamsi Paidipally and produced by Dil Raju.

There is also news that even Allu Arjun has gone for Devi Sri for his new film which is soon to take off under the direction of Trivikram Srinivas. As such, Devi Sri's last offering 'Oosaravelli' was not able to capture the hearts of the music lovers. Let us see how he upkeeps the sentiment of the mega family now.

Art directore TT's creativity for 'Life Is Beautiful'

Two Legends + Homely aunty = Devotional film

Amidst the huge traffic of commercial movies and masala flicks, a devotional film or a clean family oriented film comes like a breath of fresh air. Already, that job is being done by the upcoming devotional movie 'Srirama Rajyam'. Now, another movie has begun to make rounds.

This will see the combination of two legends K Vishwanath and S P Balasubramaniam coming together in the lead roles. Added to that, they would be accompanied by the homely looking Aamani who has been off the radar since quite a while. All this is happening in the film 'Devasthanam'.

The film also marks the debut of writer Janardhana Maharshi as the director. The shooting has been progressing briskly and this is slated to be a family entertainer with a devotional backdrop. The music is composed by Veena Pani and further details will be revealed soon.

Allu Arjun learns from his mistakes

Allu Arjun enjoyed ninty percent success rate until Parugu and was going along smoothly to become the most bankable star among the younger lot. He did films within his market limitations until Arya 2 happened. The budget of this film overshot and it eventually ended up as a commercial flop despite doing business on par with his hit films.

Varudu is another high budget blunder which failed to work. Badrinath was also a cost failure despite being his biggest grosser ever. Allu Arjun learnt a lesson from this experience and he is trying to cut down the costs for his next film.

Everyone including Trivikram and Ileana has slashed their regular paychecks for this film. This film will be made within a very less span of time and will not have any unnecessary grandeur and glitz. It will be made within a budget of twenty crores which also includes remunerations and hence can't be a flop at any cost. Good thinking by Bunny. Hope it brings the much needed hit for him.

Sexy Actress's 'Dookudu' in bedrooms

It is more like an open secret that the film industry is one place where sex sells a lot. It is no exaggeration that words like 'casting couch', 'cooperation', 'working close' are few common terms used by the cine folks to have their way with women. While it may sound disgusting, there are many who willingly say yes.

Now, the talk is happening about one actress. She is known for her baby face cute looks and though she scored a hit or two in her career, opportunities have not been coming. Many say the height is her problem. On the other hand, the buzz is that this sweet looking actress is 'available' for other services, of course, at a good cost.

Those who made use of her 'services' claim that she is quite an aggressive person on bed. Looking at her 'Dookudu', some find it very exciting but some say it is scary. Whatever it is, this actress seems to be making her own impression with her bedroom performance.

Sulagna Panigrahi Hottest Still

Small B and Sonam's rescue act

Abhishek Bachchan and his Players' leading lady Sonam Kapoor stepped in to ease off a tricky situation for their films' crew.

If not for the two, directors Abbas-Mustan may not have been able to film an important, pre-climax stunt sequence at the Wellington airport in New Zealand.

The sequence involving a flight almost landing on a speeding car required an absolutely clear runway and of course most of the airport had to be evacuated, due to security reasons. However, the crew members had a tough time acquiring permission from the airport authorities for it.

Says a source, "It was quite an elaborate sequence which could not have been possible without proper permissions. Even the pilots and the on-air crew were to be alerted. But the authorities kept the film's crew hanging for weeks. This even forced the directors to think of graphically completing the scene."

But, thanks to the two lead actors, there was respite for the production team. Without much hesitation, Abhishek and Sonam apparently went ahead and had a two-hour long argument with the authorities, almost leading to a fight, but made sure they came back with the required permissions.

Confirms director Abbas, "It's easy to rely on someone like Abhishek, because he figures things out for you. Though we had most of the permissions, he did rescue us from wasting time and helped with the nitty-gritty."

Interestingly the actors, who realised how essential the scene was for the film, were in no mood to compromise.

Adds the source, "A lot of time and money has been invested in the film and they just couldn't afford to lose out on that. It may have been easy for them, because actors have seen producers deal with permission issues in India all the time. All they had to do was to make sure the scene was shot safely and no one was hurt."

Says Abbas, "Very limited crew was allowed at the airport, so that became even tougher. But thankfully, the scene was shot without any glitches.

'Barfee' not a serious film, says Ranbir

Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor, who is currently promoting "Rockstar", clears the air about his next venture "Barfee", saying it is a romantic-comedy set in 1970s and not a serious film.

"It is not a special character, people are just blowing it out of proportion. The treatment to the character and film is not serious at all. It is a romantic-comedy which has been set in 1970s. My character is very fun-loving (awaara types)," Ranbir.

The actor plays a deaf and dumb person, Priyanka will be seen as a mentally-challenged girl and Ileana D'Cruz will be seen as a narrator.

Ranbir says people are perceiving it as a serious film because Anurag Basu is helming it.

"But he (Basu) is completely a child at heart. It has been fun working with him and also teaming up with Priyanka (Chopra) after 'Anjana Anjani'. She is very fun loving and professional at the same time. It is a treat to work with her. She is very talented. And also Ilena D'Cruz is amazing," he added.

Asked if he had to go through any special training for the film, he said: "I didn't really have to go through any special training drill. I had assisted in the film 'Black', where I got an opportunity to learn sign language."

Ranbir Kapoor was the assistant director to Sanjay Leela Bhansali in the "Black".

Original choice Akon, not Gaga?

According to the latest buzz, international pop singer Akon was originally approached to perform at the much-hyped launch of Formula 1 after party hosted by Arjun Rampal's resto-bar.

Interestingly, it was only after the singer turned down the offer, Lady Gaga was roped in.

A source says, "Shah Rukh Khan wanted Akon instead of Gaga to perform at the Formula One after parties held at Arjun Rampal's lounge.

The event was being held soon after the release of RA.One, so SRK suggested Arjun, who also stars in the film, to rope in Akon.

The marketing genius thought it would be a perfect opportunity to do the post-release promotions of the film. Since the pop star has sung the Chammak Challo song, he could perform it at the party and help promote the film."

But alas! SRK's plan to kill two birds with one stone didn't work, as Akon didn't accept his offer. Reason? The singer wasn't apparently pleased with the money offered, which was half his market price.

It was only later that Arjun's team apparently decided to approach the pop diva Lady Gaga." Both SRK and Arjun Rampal remained unavailable for comment.

German model fired for praising Gaddafis

A German company has cancelled a major advertising contract with an Italian-American model after she described her passionate relationship with Moammer Gaddafi's son Mutassim and praised his family.

Telecommunications firm Telefonica Germany will stop working with 23-year-old model Vanessa Hessler and remove her face from its website within hours, said spokesman Albert Fetsch.

losing face and fee: German model Vanessa Hessler has been relieved of her duties as the face of a communications firm over her love affair with Gaddafi's son Mutassim.

"Vanessa Hessler has failed to distance herself from her comments on the conflict in Libya," Fetsch said.

Hessler told the Italian magazine Diva e Donna that for four years she had been dating Mutassim Gaddafi -- who was killed in Libya alongside his father this month. "I didn't have any contact with him since the uprising broke out, but our relationship was one of passion," she was quoted as saying. "The Gaddafi family is not as they are being depicted, they are normal people." She also said that she was crying for Libya, adding that the rebels are "people who don't know what they're doing." Talks between Telefonica and Hessler's agency did not yield a solution because Hessler stood by her comments, said Fetsch. "We and our clients have no comprehension for what she said."

Caught drinking and driving? Say cheese

If you are drinking and driving, then make sure you look presentable because you will be photographed if caught, and the documentation will go down in the records of the traffic police so they can spot you the next time, if and when it happens.

The Mumbai Traffic Police have advanced a proposal to begin clicking photos of those who test positive during the breathalyzer test. The initiative would help cops create a database of first-time and repeat offenders, and aid them in dealing with the offenders accordingly.

This is important to decide the penalty, because in 2010, the government had increased the jail term for repeat offenders from six months to two years and hiked the fine from Rs 2,000 to Rs 3,000. Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Brijesh Singh said, "This is being done so there would be some records with us of those caught driving under the influence of alcohol." Until now, the traffic police used to struggle while identifying repeat offenders even after they were caught.

Hi-tech device
For that very purpose, cops have conceived a device that would be a breath analyser and a camera with a GPS system, all rolled into one. This would allow traffic cops on the road to relay the exact location of the offender, who is caught driving after drinking to the control room, where it will be displayed and recorded.
But officials said they sense another round of paperwork as the idea of clicking photos of offenders and their driving licences would only stack the number of files. "So we will be doing this selectively, if we find that the person might create a problem," said a senior traffic official.

Sunil's Fear Of BFA

It is not often that one gets to see a comedian graduating into a hero and sustaining that position. Even the well experienced and entertaining Ali could not achieve it for long. But one man has been making that possible. He is our very own Sunil and right now, it is heard that he is gripped by one fear.

This is the fear of Becoming Fat Again. Apparently, Sunil was on a bulkier side during the early days of his career. But over the last few months, he has gone through rigorous workout sessions and toned his body into a muscular physique. There is also a talk that he has been maintaining a six pack ab in the hope of showing it in his new movie ‘Napoleon’.

However, it is heard that his near and dear have given him a caution. If Sunil stops what he is doing now, he will become double fat. So, this should be a never ending process. On the other hand, they also suggest that whether six pack is maintained or not, the fitness thing should be continuous or else it is game over for Sunil.

And all that Sunil has to do is to reduce physical exercise regime gradually under the guidance of able trainer to keep his body undisturbed.

Gali wants 'special prisoner' status!

Mining czar and former Karnataka tourism minister Gali Janardhan Reddy, who has been in the jail for nearly two months in connection with the illegal iron ore mining case, has fed up with the ill-treatment being given to him by the Chanchalguda jail authorities.

He, along with his brother-in-law B V Srinivasa Reddy, made a petition in the CBI special court on Monday, seeking “special prisoner” status for them in the jail.

“In view of our social status and health conditions, we request you to allot us “A” category cell in the jail,” they requested.

At present, Gali and Srinivasa Reddy are being treated as ordinary prisoners. If they get special status, they would have a spacious cell along with cot and bed; aircoolers, special food from outside and clothes. The court has sought objections from the CBI and also the jail authorities and posted the case to Wednesday.

Junior NTR may have scored decent success with ‘Oosaravelli’ but his aim to score a bumper hit seems to be on the cards soon. This is through the film ‘Dammu’. The business reports of the film are being revealed by few inside sources and here is a glimpse.

The reports say that all centres across India have been closed for ‘Dammu’ and they have been taken at a high price. Even overseas market has scored a new record as sources say it has been taken for around Rs 2.3 crores. This is the highest for an NTR film. Trisha is the leading lady for Jr NTR while Bhanupriya is essaying the role of his mother. This is the first time Trisha is pairing up with Jr NTR so the onscreen chemistry should be an interesting factor. Sources say Jr NTR would be seen in a full length role and the title has already got a good response from the movie buffs. The final touch is, Jr NTR’s powerful look is causing a strong impact.
